This place got closed because the owner couldn’t pay the bills and got evicted. You can do a web search on the place and you will find some strange articles about the owner involved in a stabbing.

O stars, but it wont let me pick zero… Rude owner, manager, bartender. Overpriced drinks. Terrible service. Enough said.

RUDE and snotty owner. Bad food, expensive drinks. Frozen tuna bites that I wouldn’t feed to a stray cat. Hope they go out of business soon so a real bar can take over.

A disclosure: I live across the street from the Parrot. It’s my hang. Not that I am young enough anymore to lay claim to hanging or actually having a hang. But for me, the Parrot is as close as it gets. Lets explain the place a bit shall we? Yes, it’s off the Square, thank God and as such doesn’t have the regular crowd pattern. But it is the first bar north of Du Burns arena and so the Kickball leagues call this place home. When the leagues are in session, the place rocks. That can be Tuesday night or Saturday at 1 pm. The staff: They are like family. They know the Parrot is really their home away from home and they take care of it. Of course, they keep it clean, but they don’t over do it. I mean whats a bar like this that caters to the post college crowd if doesn’t have that stale frat house beer smell? I just go back in time every time I walk through the door. Shannon, Chris and the gang make you feel right at home. Want a beer? Just yell out – politely of course. The Food: Great bar food. The tuna bites are cooked just right. The chicken breast is juicy. Dripping good Juicy. The Nachos are ok, but really – if you wanted nachos go to a Mexican restaurant. The wings are great. The Beers: Yo… Nice freakn taps buddy. Great choices. The Jukebox: When not in operation, the Sat. Radio is playing the harder edge alternative channel. So I pony up a few bucks and play a lot of Bruce. No one minds. The Deck: Outside the main room is a nice covered deck. If it was at your home you would call it a three season porch. Love it. So, when it’s tiime to party, but not time swim in the human sea of near puking drunk girls and overly testosteroned boys ready to fist punch, then the Parrot is for you. Happy Hour note: Us locals run to get our ½ price appie and beers. Ends at 7. And the computer cuts you off so order your last round at 6:50 no matter if you’re ready or not.

Sure. I don’t remember much, other than a jukebox with a notice on it that said something along the lines of «we reserve the right to kill any song that sucks» and the Delirium that I had. OH, and this dude who looked at me and said«Delirium!» right before giving me the thumbs up. And some guys who were talking about Matt Damon.

I spent a week in Baltimore a few years back, and ended up here nearly every night. The drinks are good. Our bartender was awesome. Hell, I even played my first game of beer pong.

When I arrived at the Pickled Parrot, I expected a local dive bar without too much to offer. It isn’t much to look at inside, as its small and a bit dull. After a bit, I changed my view. They have a decent selection of beers on tap, which changes often. When I was there, Blue Moon and Magic Hat were on tap. Resurrection is often on tap too. Their menu changes weekly, which I thought was cool and unexpected. I had a HUGE grilled burrito with chicken and a generous portion of fries. It was great! Crispy and warm with salsa and sour cream on the side. They even garnished it with an orchid. Weird to me for a bar like the Pickled Parrot, but, again, an unexpected surprise. The chef apparently thinks about presentation. Nothing to scoff at! It’s away from the beaten path of Canton square, so it makes for a chill place to hang out. I would definitely recommend it and will certainly go back again for a bite and a beer.

The Parrot is not in O’Donnell Square its about a two block walk. I like the Parrot, the bar staff is chatty and seems to like their jobs. Great specials during the week and during football season. The crowd varies from locals, and college kids to the 30’s crowd. Always something to look at. Good bottle selection and about 6 on tap. Food is std pub fare. They have Golden Tee, and a solid Juke Box.

This is a decent little bar just off of the square in Canton. I’ve actually only been here on Tuesday nights, so I can’t say what it’s like on Fridays or Saturdays, but it seemed like a fairly pleasant, low-key place to hang out. They also have Blue Moon on tap, which is always a big plus.
