Pizza Oven is definitely my favorite pizza shop in this area. My family was not loyal to any one pizza shop when I was growing up, so we got to know them all (Crossroads, Italo’s, Kraus’, Smith’s, Ginonino’s, etc.) I can understand why this is a polarizing pizza though. They put on a LOT of sauce, which has a distinct, almost sour taste. That is why I love it, but some people don’t. They also use a lot of cheese and are very generous with the toppings (and they use fresh mushrooms!). I don’t eat the chicken, but my family loves it. Best jojos and coleslaw around. I have several relatives who have since moved out of state and can’t wait to get their Pizza Oven fix when coming home for a visit.

I have never understood the fascination with this place. People from Canton love it, but it is probably the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted. It’s like eating a paper plate with plastic on top and a cup of grease. It is absolutely awful. The people that like this place have no idea what good pizza is. I would give it no stars if I could.

Growing up as a young kid, and going back as an adult, I love this pizza, and I know live near some of the best pizza in NYC. But I adore this pizza, and the best is the pepperoni underneath the cheese, and the thickness of the pepperoni, is soooo good. Almost worth the 6 plus hour drive for a pie right now!

This is my favorite pizza in the world!
I grew up in Canton and we always got pizza from Pizza Oven South. Everything is fresh and homemade and tastes unlike any chain pizza. The sliced provolone really finishes the pizza off nice.
Now that I live 750 miles from Canton, I really miss Pizza Oven. Every time I visit family back home, I call and order a pizza on my way in. It’s always my first stop. I have even had pizzas overnighted to me! They’ll half bake them, then freeze them overnight and FedEx them out the next day. Not as good as a fresh one, but beats any pizza where I live now.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
