They are completely incompetent!
They came out and spend about 3 hours looking for the leak, but they couldn’t find any leak.
We still had to pay $ 350 for it.
They told me to fix the tiny crack (we had this crack for about 10 years).
They told me 2 options, one with complete redo of the concrete for $ 3000 and the other with just patch for $ 450.
I didn’t think the leak was coming from that tiny crack as the pool water was coming down quickly until just under the filter level. But we went with just to patch the crack for $ 450 trusting them.
It turned out that it still didn’t fix and water was leaking fast!
We spent total of $ 800 for NOTHING. I’m so glad that we didn’t go for the $ 3000 job!
I called the other company and they came out and found the problem with 2 min. of time!
It turned out that the bottom of the pool filter tank was leaking and it all needed was the little parts to replace. I couldn’t believe it.
AP1 Leak Detection couldn’t find very simple leak from the filter tank.
So, we call them back to ask for a full refund. They said NO.
We ask them to refund at least $ 450 for the unnecessary job they performed. They said NO.
We told them that we will file small claim court.
They said «Go ahead, you could never win the case because we did perform the job. We’ve done it before»
I couldn’t believe what I heard! If they’ve done it before, there are other people out there experienced same thing! How could this company allow to operate?
Yes, they were right we lost the case. They PERFORMED the job, so they get paid.
But ultimately they will be the one who will lose and pay the price eventually.

Unreliable, untrustworthy. I wouldnt use them, but then again, they never came when they said they would. I called them because I had a leak in my above ground pool. Joe said they could locate the leak at $ 300.00. I thought that was a little high, but, I needed someone to help me out. We scheduled an appointment day for them to come out and Joe was to call the day before to confirm and let me know the time. No call. When I called, no return call. The day of the appointment, they called and left me a message stating they were on their way to my house and left me and my husband waiting for over two hours. No show.
Stay away from these people.

I contacted Joe through a referral by my pool maintainer. I’ve been under the impression that my pool has been losing water for a few months now. When I finally got around to addressing the potential problem — I contacted Joe. He asked me a number of questions on the phone and provided me with a very competitive pricing model which of course depended on the severity of the leak. He showed up on time and suggested I first conduct a very simple water loss evaluation using a 5 gallon bucket over a 24 hour period to validate if a leak even existed OR if evaporation was the culprit. His exact words were — ‘don’t spend the money if you don’t need to’. Sure enough — there was no leak in my pool but the water loss was due to evaporation attributed to the dark colored base and spa I had.
I’ve worked with dozens of contractors (pool guys, plumbers, GCs, gardeners, electricians, etc.) over the years and have yet to meet any contractor that has the professionalism, honesty, and the ‘don’t spend the money if you don’t need to’ philosophy.
I’d give this guy 6 stars and will promote him any chance I can get to friends and family seeking someone to address all types of leaks in the home, sewer, or pool.
If you have a leak — call Joe — it’s a no brainer.
