Ace is the place! Every one at the store is so knowledgable. I am horrible about fixing things but they take the time and are extremely helpful even tell me when to go somewhere else I. e lowes (20 more miles) when necessary. Honest very folksy people that support the community and still have 99% things I need, plus a large selection of thing I don’t but buy anyway lol.

Darrell B– Ace is less than half the size of both Big chain store. You said they have MORE product? Seems someone put you up to this… They have much much less and
THEIR PRICES ARE MUCH HIGHER THAN THE BIG BOX STORES! Not to mention they don’t carry quality products like big box either.
My experience has been the opposite. They have an older staff that are NOT knowledgeable. They have ridiculous return policies and even getting a propane refill was painful. Lady refused to let me PAY for a refill unless i brought the empty inside the store for a propane exchange. I explained we have to go back outside and have someone open the cage they keep them in anyways so why the inconvenience of lugging it in the store when we are going right back outside to exchange it?
All i got was attitude and refusal… I don’t understand as I am PAYING upfront anyways and the cages are locked and must be opened by an employee.
Don’t waste your time or money here.

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware «man.» This is one of the biggest hardware stores I’ve ever seen. They have more items than both of those other big box hardware chains.
There are only two Ace Hardware stores left between all of San Antonio to Austin. One is in Wimberly, and the other one is in Canyon lake. I came to this large store to get some single pane glass cut. My only other option was to go to a glass shop, which cost double than this store (40.00 vs 20.00).
The employees are very professional here in their red vests. Besides, the biggest most organized row of nuts, bolts, and screws – this store has home goods, crafts, Texas items, anything you need to decorate your home. There is even a snack bar here.
If you need anything, and I mean «anything», it can surely be found here.

This is a new store. Very nice. They had exactly what I needed. Good price and the staff was courteous.
