It’s not summer for me until I have a Bite into Maine lobster roll. Warm crispy buttered roll chock full of fresh lobster and a little sprinkle of fresh chives, with an open view of the sea it doesn’t get much better than this. Worth every penny.

On our road trip through New England, we stopped by A Bite Of Maine for some lobster rolls. I found the lobster rolls to be delicious, but my bro found them to be absolutely amazing! We shared both the Connecticut– and Maine-style rolls. The rolls had large chunks of lobster, served fresh and presumably made-to-order. I ultimately found them to be a 4/5, whole my brother rated them as 6⁄5. Verdict: Calculated rating of 5⁄5. Worth stopping for.

Believe all the 5 star reviews. They know what they’re talking about. Also, if you are a cheap wad like me and don’t want to spend $ 16 on a sandwich, ask them to make you half of one and they’ll oblige. If you do have the cash to splurge — go all out and get the whole one. Oh yeah, get one of their Maine drink offerings. I liked my root beer. Picture attached for reference.

Making Cape Elizabeth and the lighthouse my first stop on my road trip in Maine, Best Into Maine set the bar way up high for the rest of the lobster shacks in Maine. For 7 days in Maine, I was on the hunt to find the best lobster roll and now I award it to Bite Into Maine. All the lobster rolls were perfectly made. Lobster meat was plentiful, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection! None of the rolls that I ordered had a rubbery texture. However, I do doubt the freshness of the lobster meat, but I honestly can’t expect freshly caught and cooked lobster out of a food truck. Needless to say, this review of 5 stars is still well deserved. You cannot beat the perfect preparation of these lobster rolls plus the view of the ocean and lighthouse. Go for the Maine style if you want to taste something«original» because you can’t go wrong with the classic mayo and chives. If you are feeling a little adventure, try the wasabi. But don’t worry, the wasabi is not pungent and won’t make you cry. #bestlobsterrolls

These lobster rolls exemplify what I think a great lobster roll should be! Buns were buttery and toasted and filled with lobster and nothing else. I prefer warm butter over mayo but both the Connecticut and Maine styles were delicious. The location is perfect for visitors of the lighthouse and there are plenty of picnic tables throughout the park. As a sidenote, the blueberry soda is very sweet.

This food truck located at the lighthouse park in Cape Elizabeth does land office business, but is it worth the buzz? THEROSES: The lobster rolls themselves are quite good; you can get them in one of four varieties. They serve an ample amount of lobster, and it all seems quite fresh. The folks working in the trailer are very pleasant and enthusiastic about their product. THETHORNS: Rather spendy for what you’re getting. We had and saw lobster rolls elsewhere, and to be brutally honest, while these are good, the don’t justify the premium they charge. I’m guessing the low overhead from the ‘food truck’ concept may be erased by a stiff fee charged by the park in order for BIM to be the exclusive concessionaire there. That, or BIM is taking advantage of the fact that they’re ‘the only game in town’. THEVERDICT: Nice lobster roll, but not worth it, considering that you’ll have to eat it on a(usually) blowy picnic table, and spend as much time trying to pin down your plate and napkins as you do enjoying your food. There are offerings just as good, and usually more reasonably priced elsewhere.

Stopped here today while we were checking out the lighthouse. You definitely can’t beat the view from the picnic tables, though it was really windy and caused us to eat quickly! Ordered the Connecticut lobster roll and the grilled cheese. The grill on the bread for both was delicious. Grilled cheese wasn’t anything special, but that’s not what you come here for! The lobster roll was good. It was the third I’ve tried since we got here and I have to say the grill on the bread created such flavor that it overshadowed the lobster and was hard for me to taste. Maybe we should’ve gotten one that was more unique and had more than just lobster and butter? I would say that I was impressed that there were three people working inside that tiny trailer! They were professional and kind and kept the orders coming out quickly!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We split the Maine Style(light mayo and chives) Lobster roll and the Connecticut Style(warm butter) lobster roll. Both are served on a nice butter toasted bun. These rolls are amazing! Plus the backdrop of the Portland Head Lighthouse made this meal perfect! Also tried the Blueberry soda which was also really nice. I recommend you try all of these.

Definitely on my list of top 3 lobster rolls I’ve eaten! When I made my most recent trip to Maine, I knew I had to eat as many lobster rolls as I could possibly fit in my tiny stomach during my few days there. I actually stumbled upon this food truck by chance when visiting the Portland Light House but when I saw that it was on Unilocal’s list of top 100 places to eat in 2015, I knew it was fate. Their menu includes five different styles of lobster rolls with the Maine-style(with light mayo and fresh chives) and the Connecticut-style(with hot butter) ones as the popular choices. As I had a cold lobster roll for lunch just one hour prior to stumbling upon the truck, I figured I would go for a warm one this time. Amazing. I’ve had lobster rolls in Maine, Boston, and NY but the Connecticut-style lobster roll from here is surely one that stands out. The lobster was fresh and perfectly seasoned and was served on top of this lightly toasted, buttery bread. Once I poured the warm melted butter over it, it was just perfect. This food truck is located at at the top of the hill before you get to the light house in Cape Elizabeth with a few park benches available for you to sit and relax. I would recommend going early as I noticed the line started getting longer when I was leaving. Delicious lobster rolls, scenic views of the lighthouse, good company — nothing beats that!

I just moved to New England a few months ago and have now had the misfortune of trying the Bite Into Maine lobster rolls– nothing else will ever live up! After driving up from Boston for a Portland day-trip, we stopped here first and, upon splitting two rolls, we contemplated getting too more and then driving right back because the lobster rolls alone would have been worth the drive. We split the Connecticut and Wasabi rolls. The meat on the wasabi roll was incredible and I could eat that for every meal for weeks, but somehow the Connecticut roll as a whole worked so well in completeness(the butter with the crisped, grilled bread) that it takes the title as the best roll I have ever had. It was truly greater than the sum of it’s parts. Finally, the beautiful park where this truck is located only adds to the delight. I’m so glad we stumbled on this place!

This is. the. best. lobster roll. Hands down. There’s not a whole lot I can add to the other reviews, but this lobster meat tastes fresh, it’s creative(or traditional, depending on what you want) and there’s almost always a line — so get there early. Once they run out of lobster, they take off. In the height of summer in Maine, it’s not unusual for them to not make it to dinner time. But they are always gone by six, it seems. ENJOY. It’s such a treat to enjoy such great lobster with such a great view.

I am thrilled to write this review since it means that I’ve finally tried Bite Into Maine! This food truck attends many local Portland events but can be found parked in Fort Williams Park on the weekends. Having moved to Maine for several months now, I’ve tried a variety of lobster rolls. So I can say in confidence that this food truck offers the best lobster roll in Portland!!! I ordered the Connecticut lobster roll – YUM. It is seasoned with the perfect amount of butter though not too over empowering that it buries the lobster. The attentive staff is patient as I jumped back and forth on what to order. I NEED to go back to try the wasabi lobster roll!

Compared with Fishermen’s Grill the rolls here are cheaper and smaller and there are more choices flavor-wise. What’s awesome about this truck: 1. This roll here will probably be the best lobster roll you ever have 2. They take credit cards 3. Line moves super fast 4. The people working are some of the nicest I’ve met 5. There are vegetarian options like the caprese sandwich but I don’t really see why anyone would… etcetcetc

The best lobster roll you will ever have. Absolutely amazing. I’ve had lobster rolls in Maine and Boston but nothing can compare to what this food truck can produce. Delicious, fresh, well-seasoned lobster. Fresh, lightly toasted, buttered bread. Homemade coleslaw with melted butter drizzled on top of the lobster. Man… I just made myself hungry lol. This food truck is located in a beautiful park. You can’t loose. This place is amazing. Go eat there now!!!

While visiting Maine for the first time, my husband and I visited Bite Into Maine after seeing the number of consistent five star reviews. I’m giving this review four stars because I honestly have nothing to compare the roll too. I only had one lobster roll but considering that my husband had two or three additional lobster rolls at different establishments, he stated that none of the other places could compare. We had the lobster roll with the coleslaw and I have to admit, it was delicious and filling! The bun is slightly toasted and the lobster is actually seasoned(a BIG difference among other places) so you get to taste the different flavors of the lobster and cole slaw independently and together. I prefer small meals every two-three hours so I was unable to finish the entire roll and shared my last bite or two with my husband. All in all, if your in Maine, please be sure to visit Bite Into Maine. It is definitely worth any small wait and/or the distance from where you are traveling from. There is seating throughout the park so you can take in the beautiful scenery while enjoying your tasty lobster roll!

The negatives: 1) It’s a food cart! 2) You still pay like $ 16 or so per lobster roll. 3) There’s almost nowhere to sit. 4) Parking? We don’t need no stinkin’ parking!(Park on the side of the road and hope.) 5) They sometimes sell out(obviously we didn’t experience this) So… ummm. what? It’s right next to the most photographed lighthouse in the world. They have about 5 kinds of lobster rolls — the«picnic style» is superb. So what’s wrong with sitting on the ground, as long as you find some shade? You can be next to your car in case someone complains. We had fun. We saw the Portland Lighthouse on Cape Elizabeth. It wasn’t that crowded since we came after«closing time»(we didn’t need to see the inside anyway). We ate two really good lobster rolls(Maine/picnic style) and they happily cut them in half so we could both have half each. What’s not to like.

THEBESTLOBSTERROLLEVERRRR!!! Food: They have a number of different styles. I had the Maine style roll(mayo and fresh chives) and Connecticut style roll(hot butter), both of which were AMAZINGGG. The lobster was tasty, juicy and fresh and was served on top of toasted, buttery bread. I prefer the Maine style over the CT style because it had a little more flavor(but that is not to discredit the CT roll… still delicious!). Don’t forget to have a Maine blueberry root beer! I’m not a huge fan of soda, but that too was amazing. Service: The workers were very welcoming and friendly. They served the every customer with patience and respect… even the hyper kids in front of us! Food came out pretty fast too — within seven minutes of ordering. Ambiance: This spot is the perfect scenery as you sit down on the table and enjoy your lobster roll. There’s the view of the ocean, the nice breeze, and Portland Head Light a few steps away. Can it get any better? Definitely a must go if you’re in the area!

Not only is Bite Into Maine the best lobster roll that I had on a recent trip to Portland, it is also one of the best locations imaginable. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood that could effect the flavor of the food [yes, I truly believe that moods effect our opinions of places] when you’re surrounded by the grounds of Fort Williams Park and have the Portland Headlight in the distance. The line for this fabulous food truck moves quick and the food was surprisingly fast as well, so don’t be intimidated by the crowds, it is truly worth the wait! Also, make sure you check the hours on their website, the Unilocal hours differ from when they’re actually open. The price of the lobster roll is $ 15.95+tax, pricy I know just for a roll, but you’ve got to treat yourself every once in a while; plus the roll is HUGE, easily split if you’re looking for an afternoon snack! We went with the Maine style roll: mayo and fresh chives. It’s served with a wedge of lemon, and was the perfect pick-me-up after walking all along Fort Williams Park. AND if you want to be super fancy, try the Maine Root rootbeer or for the true local experience get the Moxie. I guarantee the only thing that will disappoint you about Bite Into Maine food truck is if you pass it up!

I so badly want to give Bite Into Maine 5 stars but alas I cannot. So, we ordered the Maine and the Chipotle lobster rolls, along with the spicy ginger root soda. Upon sitting down and taking a bite, we were confused about which was the Chipotle and which was the Maine, and that’s because the Chipotle one had no Chipotle taste, let alone the peppers and whatnot. The Maine roll, however, was perfect — possibly the best one we had all weekend in Portland. Beware, if you want to try the truck, you must get there early. It’s REALLY popular, as evidenced by the line, and they run out of their rolls within a few hours of opening.

The wifey and I had this place booked marked ever since we saw the reviews online and when it was featured on the food network. I kid you not, she based her entire days agenda on just visiting the light house and grabbing a Lobster Roll from«Bite into Maine» Bite into Maine is a small little food truck right at the top of the hill before you get to the light house in Cape Elizabeth. We were greeted by the staff and we chatted with the owners/employee’s for a bit. They were very kind, courteous and attentive to our needs and knew the menu inside and out. We chatted about the food truck scene in Miami and then we dug into our rolls. The flavor of the lobster was simply mouthwatering. Everything was perfect about it. From the texture and consistency of the lobster meat to the buttery flavor on the roll. This was the best Lobster Roll I had while we spent the weekend here hands down. We topped it off with Blueberry soda pop! AMAZINGASWELL. It was the perfect combination. They have benches right next to the food truck where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and relax and unwind to an amazing roll. The prices are in line with what everyone else was charging in the area but I honestly didn’t care about the price or the calories. This was the only place that we had to grab a cab for a spend a little bit more money just to visit but it was worth every penny. If your in Portland, ME you NEED to come here.
