The décor is nice, and the food, while nothing really special, is perfectly fine. The catfish was wonderfully fresh. The cheesecake wasn’t worth it though – tiny cups slightly filled with not-very-good cheesecake. But the cheesy tater tots with bacon and tomato were awesome. Very easy to eat far too much of.

BF and I are on a take your time and see the sights road trip. Cape Girardeau’s Isle Casino caught our eye so we thought we would enjoy some gambling and dining. We are both fond of buffets so it seemed logical to give this one a try. Both disappointed as we feel«fresh» wasn’t really served. Way to many fried items, items that weren’t hot enough, some not really cold enough. Overall tacky appearance/neatness of some«stations». If we lived in the area, we might give them another chance. Who knows, there is always room for improvement.

The casino is good. They buffet is overpriced and disgusting. Payed 52 dollars for 2 people and wouldn’t pay 20 to eat here. It was awful to say the least.

I am a fan of casino dining and enjoy the occasional all you can eat type if buffet. I have been looking forward to the Farmers Pick Buffet for some time. I think that local foods being served is a great idea and something rather unique to the area. The staff at the buffet and registers out front were very friendly and we felt we were being well taken care of. The service was very attentive as well especially for being a buffet. And the décor is really neat as well– very modern looking but warm and inviting at the same time. I have to say that I was disappointed with the food quality. We came for Sunday brunch which is $ 15.95 per person and includes one alcoholic beverage. We tried the Bloody Mary which was a little on the sweet side and quite bland. I also noticed that several of the dishes offered did not appear to be all that fresh looking. The pasta dishes had that strange dried texture that happens when it has been unattended to for some time. The Asian section left something to be desired as well. The foods just didn’t taste fresh and were not well prepared. I did appreciate that there were several vegetarian options here as well as throughout the buffet. They even keep the meat separated from the gravy for the biscuits which I thought was nice. I am not a vegetarian but I am not a big fan of meat so this was good. The deserts were quite good — the bread pudding was one of my favorites. I also recommend the eclairs. I would come back to the buffet again but I am hoping that with time the quality of the cooking and freshness can improve. I think that $ 15.95 is a lot to pay for something that is just mediocre.

We were excited about having more dining options in Cape and decided to give this new buffet restaurant located inside the Isle Casino a try. I like the concept of using local food sources and supporting surrounding farmers, and the price of $ 15.95 for all you can eat seemed reasonable… However, we were very disappointed with our dining experience and the lack of quality with the food selections. There are a lot of selections, but perhaps, they need to slim down the options and work on making the dishes taste better. The coconut chicken soup was so salty it was inedible. The roast beef and the ribs were cold, dry, and tough. The meatballs were dry and looked like they had been sitting out for hours. The Chinese food options were lacking and not very good at all. The mac and cheese was bland. Oddly enough, my favorite part of the buffet was the vegetables, which were seasoned and sautéed well. The service was good and attentive considering it was a buffet. The manager greeted us and asked about our experience. Overall, a wide variety of bad food… Being a new restaurant, hopefully, it will improve over time.
