The handmade treats are great. Maybe the best fudge I have ever had. Love little shops like these. Can’t wait to go back to try the fried chicken.

Be sure to make a trip to this throwback to 1950’s corner stores. A very friendly Mom & Pop place with homemade meals in addition to soda, groceries, coffee & items like phone cards, shirts & caps, and of course the daily newspapers. You HAVE to try the homemade lunches — Chicken N Dumplins, Fried Chicken, and soups to die for… portions are very generous. I usually got two meals out of one. The Biscuits & Gravy will make you think of the good olé days when your Grandmother made them. Here’s hoping they can survive another round of street closures and inconvenience of being on Broadway during destruction season…

The name of the store says it all – this is a cute corner market. It has a little of this and that. There’s canned goods, chips, cookies, fresh fruit, vegetables, refrigerated drinks and cheeses and such. There’s pickled eggs, and ready made food to go – such as BLT Sandwiches, hot dogs, and delicious cake. Also available are dinners to go – like meat loaf or fried chicken with collard greens or baked beans, etc. There were hats and sunglasses. I mentioned the delicious cake – very yummy. During certain hours, they deliver. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Prices were very reasonable.
