I love, Love, LOVE this place! It’s a taste of the south right in the DMV! I love the food so much, I go a few times a week! Not to mention the staff is like family to me :)

Someone call Guy Fieri!!! This place looks like a dive but the food is AWESOME!!! We had breakfast here. I had the turkey chops and home fries. My fiancé had the pork chops and my son the homemade corned beef hash. Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were awesome. Oh and try the grits!

So let me start buy saying that I only went here for breakfast. Early one Sunday morning my mom in law and fiancé ventured out for chores and I suggested this place b/​c of many rave reviews (not on Unilocal). They were immediately turned off by the «old bar» smell and the nonchalant the workers carried themselves.
I on the other hand was determined to taste the fruit of the land.
Fortunately I did, unfortunately I only ordered one Bacon egg and cheese sandwich; 66.6% of which was engulfed by my fiancé and mom in law. The owner (I think) was kind enough to offfer us some grits and sausage on the house b/​c we had to wait so long (they weree really busy with phone orders) for my sandwich. The sausage was lacking. But the GRITS… The grits (and I really don’t eat grits were AMAZING!!!)
I plan to go back and try the infamous Turkey Chops

Excellent Food! This place is definitely a local dive but don’t let the outside fool you. Inside you’ll find nice people and the owner in the back preapring the food. The food is great! I had the cabbage, Candied Yams and BBQ chicken wings. The cabbage was not overcooked and the yams were perfectly seasoned. I defeinitely recommend this place if you are looking for some good southern cuisine. This is the REAL DEAL! I cannot wait to try other dishes.
