I rarely write a Unilocal review, but felt a need to inform future consumers. I’ve been getting botox and dysport for many years, with great results. Last July I had dysport done on my forehead, brow lift, crows feet, and upper lip lines. I paid under $ 700 total and had fabulous results. I’ve also done these same areas before with botox and also had great results. My normal doctor was unavailable last month, so I decided to give MBLA a try. I made an appointment to have botox done, as well as IPL on some small spider veins. I also wanted to discuss getting a package for IPL for face, chest and neck. The girls at the counter were very helpful giving me price quotes and scheduling my appointment. Upon arriving, everyone was very nice and all the girls at the counter are young and have perfect skin, giving you the feeling like this place knows what their doing. Dr Small was also very nice explaining everything to me in detail. The process so far was off to a good start. Dr Small threw out some prices and advised all the areas I needed to do and then started injecting the botox. I knew it would be costly(as I have done this before) so was expecting to pay around $ 700-$ 800. However when I went to check out, my bill was $ 1200! I couldn’t believe it. And they never even touched on the IPL laser, which was another reason why i was there. When I asked about it, I was told I would need to make a separate appointment. That would have been nice to know upfront. They also talked me into buying an expensive sunscreen they said was the best one for my skin. They advised I do a follow up in two weeks and said they would do any necessary touch ups at no charge. As directed, I went back after two weeks. I was disappointed because there was hardly any lift in my brow and that was originally my main concern, as I have heavy upper lids. Dr Small agreed and said I needed to do some different areas of the forehead in order to achieve the lift I desired. I said okay(thinking this was a complementary visit), and she began to inject. Then at check out, they said I owed another $ 500!!! I couldn’t believe it. $ 1700 for botox??? I’ve never in the ten years I’ve been using it, paid this much. A week later, my eyelid started to droop. I was devastated. So I went in for my two week follow up and told Dr Small I was very disappointed and that I had spent so much money and these were not positive results. She agreed and said she would inject more. I told her that I could not afford anything more. She then said it would be complimentary. Afterward, I was talking with one of the girls at the front about the expensive sunscreen I purchased and how it left a white film on my face and was very drying. The girl asked if I had oily or dry skin. I told her I had dry skin and she instantly said they had sold me the wrong sunscreen. The one they sold me was for oily skin! So I asked to exchange it for the correct one for my skin type and they told me they couldn’t take it back!!! Even though they were the ones that sold me the wrong product!!! Extremely poor results and price gouging. Will never go back. And by the way, my eyelid is STILL drooping!!! Will now have to go back to my regular doctor for him to fix it.
