Worst korean ive ever had. Blan flavor, hard rice, super small serving, and wayy to expensive. Ive been to several Sorabol places and hands down this is the worst. Super dissapointed. Lowkey wanted to throw it all up amd ask for my money back.

It is really yammy. I am Korean. We visited here at Santa Cruz from LA and we want to eat Korean food so we searched korean food in Unilocal then came here. Owner is Korean and so sweet and advice to get teriyaki chicken. My sister got beef teriyaki #5, I got #1. Noodle is so good like Yaki– udon. By the way, kimchi is not gross because cabbage kimchi(Chinese korean style and immigrant korean when korean came here us 1980 – 1990 even though I was here for study at 1992, we used to eat cabbage kimchi because we didn’t have Kimchi vegetable at that time, so korean made it with cabbage like Kimchi. it was sad story. So do not call it is gross or horrible). Now all korean vegetables are grow in LA so we, you can get normal kimchi and korean food. This place reminded me my college years and food. Compare to price, it is decent and good food. Don’t put the bad things because you are not Korean so don’t know real korean food. Thanks.

Horrible!!! I work in the mall and come here everyday for lunch. I usually order the mediocre broccoli and chicken the chicken is far from tasty and the broccoli is unseasoned. Today I decided to order the soup instead of the mediocre broccoli and chicken which I usually get. The soup that I ordered was half empty and had one shrimp in it. Instead of the traditional rice noodles which should be use in this type of soup, it came with spaghetti noodles. I was beyond unsatisfied an asked to exchange the soup for something else. she was rude and unwilling to exchange my food. She even charged me the difference of $ 0.49 to receive the mediocre broccoli and chicken which I usually get. To add insult to injury after all of this I said thank you and left and she didn’t even acknowledge me. I think this is pretty obvious, but I will not be eating here again.

The food here is horrible. My wife and I didn’t even finish half of our food. The noodles didn’t have a good taste or texture. The fried rice was oily. The orange chicken was super salty. The spicy chicken was nothing special. It was a waste of money. Should have walked outside to five guys, but not so easy with two little ones.

Their food is cheap, fast and decent. The side order of Kimchi was not that great and was somewhat gross. The teriyaki chicken was really good and seemed fresh. The owner was friendly and attentive to customers. Overall 4⁄5 stars for service and chicken.

Went here reluctantly as I am not much of a «eat at the mall» diner, but the Saturday that we arrived, the food was über fresh and not greasy at all. One had pork and noodles, the other had chicken and noodles. Both meals were very fresh and tender. Perhaps that day was a miracle to be that tasty given the other reviews here. Will try again if I find myself in the area.

I really like the food here. I get the clear noodles with lemon chicken. It’s definitely a fast food version of Korean food but I think it’s pretty good quality.

Lady charged me $ 4.95 for a small to-go teriyaki chicken only. I asked why so much and she just kept talking gibberish. Got frustrated and just paid anyway. Raped.

They’re food wasn’t good to my taste. I got their glass noodle and it wasn’t warm. And they seasoned it with soy sauce

This is not Korean food, it’s a very poor attempt at mimicking Korean. It was way too salty and tasted really nothing like food from my homeland. I really don’t recommend to eat here ever.

I come here weekly all the way from UCSC. The pork ribs(#1 special) is amazing and totally worth the 15 minute wait for something hot and fresh off the grill! Great Korean food. Have yet to try their soups but because I come so often I see their popular too and probably just as great. The owner is also a super nice and friendly guy, he gave me other Korean suggestions around town cause he noticed me coming so much! They do have off days(anything from a steam tray is hit or miss) but overall easily the best food in the mall if not on capitola road.

Came here because i was too lazy to go to Chipotle. Bad decision. Riddled with grease, old age and odd tastes, this place definitely did not impress. If it weren’t for my shameful likening if greasy foods, another star would be further knocked off this review. The server is kinda nice though. overall, just try not to eat in the mall in the first place. But if you must, Sorabol is likely your best(or better said, least bad) option.

OH. MY. GOD. NOOOOOOOO!!! can’t believe i have to even give this place one star. Café Sorabol?! More like Café So-Horrible!!! This place definitely doesn’t really even deserve one star, but we’ll give it to them because Unilocal gives us no choice… BUT, LITERALLY, No joke, No exaggeration… there was a CLUSTEROFMAGGOTEGGSINOURFRIENDSCHICKEN. NOJOKE. don’t eat here. I don’t see how they’re still open. Seriously. I would at all costs and by all means, avoid this place like the plague. Also – they have some nasty health code violations… feel free to google«santa cruz health inspection» and download the inspections for the entire county… this place is NOTCOOL – they have a MAJOR violation in «improper food holding/processing temperatures», and violoations in «inadequate hand washing procedures», «Inadequate utensil/equipment washing or sanitizing», and … HUH, what a surprise–«RODENTORINSECTINFESTATION» !!! google these results for yourself if you don’t believe me. #BARF

I got a side of fried rice and a side of chow mein, it cost 8 $ for dried out rice that had obviously been sitting for way too long, very disappointed. Portion was very small for the price. Bummer!

I would say they do a pretty great job in terms of a mall fast food restaurant. The lady with the red visor is always so nice to me and knows my order. I always get the lunch special which is fried rice, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, and California Rolls. It’s delicious and I really appreciate that you can see them grilling fresh chicken through out the day. They also grill the short ribs to order as well. They’re always really friendly and give generous portions so five stars will suffice:]

If you are at the Capitola Mall and hungry… your only legitimate option is Sorabol. Food is a OK, but the inexpensive prices make the value terrific. I go with the glassy noodle and spicy chicken/beef combo… but the BBQ chicken is also a tasty option. Portions are large, and they let you sample the meats prior to selecting. If the restaurant were busier, and the meats were cooked more frequently(faster turnover)… I’d rate the food a 4. A couple times I’ve had plates where the beef was dry… leading to the OK rating. Customer service is always good… ask for a couple pieces of broccoli on top.

2.5 stars. If you like things greasy in large portions then this is your place. When even the rice is greasy with oil it’s a commitment that you are going to exceed your treadmill time by 3 hours. This place never has short ribs ready when I come here. Without fail I am doomed to never try their ribs because it’s a five– ten minute wait… Without fail they try and push their chicken on me… The lemongrass chicken isn’t bad and neither are their egg rolls. The rice glistens with oil and doesn’t have a ton of flavor. I recommend the chow mein/noodles.

There arent a lot of places here that offer ANYTHING remotely close to asian cuisine, let alone Korean cuisine. Its delish, and the people working there are wonderful and you get full big helpings. easy location and usually not a line or a short wait. and consideration, they ask whether you want the sauce on the meat or on the side. every time. its great. p. s. im also easy to please(kinda) but they have the most perfect steamy moist white rice to have with the bulgogi or jap chae… :)

Shopping through all of the cute clothes at Capitola Mall could sure make a girl hungry. I stopped by Sorabol for two take-out orders, and the worker/cashier who served me was very nice and friendly. My low rating is solely for the quality of the food, which was very disappointing. Don’t let your eyes be fooled, but the Korean noodles, BBQ chicken, and California Rolls all looked very eye appealing and savory to the taste buds. Well, I thought the Korean noodles were alright, but that’s all what I probably ate for that lunch before my 4-hour work shift. The BBQ chicken were cut into pieces that tasted very dry, and the rice wasn’t at its prime peak either. The California rolls tasted plain and not at all delectable like I expected. Sorry Capitola shoppers, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to eat at whether you are hungry or not because trust me, you won’t be able to finish your entire meal not out of satiety, but out of loss of appetite. One plus, the amount of food you get for only approximately 8.00 is pretty decent.
