It’s definitely diner food, but tasty and varied. The green beans were fresh! And not over cooked.

Under new ownership with new priorities. A cursory visit indicates that food safety and health code standards are waaaay better than last time.

The diner is a great place to stop for a quick breakfast or dinner. Awesome ambiance inside – a real classic diner feel!

My experience her are always great. The food is healthy and it gives you a good variety of food choices. The servers are very friendly. It has Mexican food there also. They have gluten free options and have vegetarian options. I would definitely recommend this place to people who are looking for a nice sit down meal. In readable service

This is the most average diner I have ever been in. If an alien were visiting the Milky Way from Andromeda and stopped by Earth and wanted to experience a typical diner, my finger will be pointed at Red Rock Diner. Typical diner menu, diner feel, and friendly diner staff located at a typical diner location right off a highway. I do not know how else I can express how stereotypical this diner is.

The food was pretty good, I got the veggie melt and added roast beef to it(to add it on was $ 3.50!). My kids got the mac and cheese and I was disappointed since they brought out kraft box mac and cheese. The place was a bit dirty… dirty walls and floors, my husband said the bathroom was disgusting with open fly traps filled with dead flies. Service wasn’t good, wasn’t bad. It was just ok. Overall if my review was based on food I would return but with the service and dirty ambiance I’d have to say no.

The employees did nothing but scowl at each other and could barely be bothered to take care of just a few customers. Only the cook had a smile when eye contact was made. I felt terrible for him. Rude, unprofessional and slow service. This isn’t the first time I felt like I was a burden here while ordering a meal. The owner needs to have a talk with his staff. I stood with check in hand for way too long at the front counter while staff ignored us and just stood around doing nothing. Advice… Drive into downtown Carbondale for better food and better service.

Diner was cute. A bit expensive for diner food, 9 to 14.00 for each sand which. I did like the variety of ordering local meat including buffalo and elk burgers. The malts are to die for. My grilled cheese lacked flavor, may use some fresh herbs, flavored oils, or butters, and my split pea soup needed a stronger ham taste and salt. Cute place though.

Went in for lunch a couple of weeks ago. The owner was there yelling at all of the employees in the front of the business. He was dressed like a hobo. I waited over 20 minutes for the server to finally come ask for my order. The employees were visibly upset by the owners yelling at them in front of the whole restaurant. I ordered a burger and it was ok, nothing to write home about, the service was horrible. For the owner, your presentation to your customers and employees says everything about your business. If you expect your employees to look nice and be friendly, you are the one they are looking up to. Do your yelling before or after hours or do it in the back office.

It’s a 50’s diner, down to the chrome and formica. Awesome food for what it is. Had a great spinach quesadilla, good beef chili and a nice Arnie Palmer. Competitively priced, good service, clean. Good price/value.

This place is veggie and gluten free friendly! Awesome. We drove a bit out of our way to have lunch here on our way home and it totally hit the spot and was worth the extra time. I know it’s just a burger and fries kinda place, but it’s done really well. The service is great

Underrated. This is a great diner – possibly the best I’ve been to. And if you like burgers, these are definitely worth a taste. If you don’t like burgers, they have a surprisingly wide selection of other lunches and dinners. They also serve breakfast!

It’s a shame that this place can’t even live up to good diner food. It has all the other attributes except good food. It looks like the«chef» has just given up. I recently ordered a cheese burger. It was terrible, no flavor, overcooked and just boring. Until they decide to step it up a bit don’t bother going.

I came here for some breakfast at around 2 thinking that since it was a diner that breakfast would be an all day sorta thing. I was mistaken as breakfast ends at 1130 which seemed really early. I ended up getting a chicken sandwich and a chocolate malt. I don’t know why but my bill came out to 17 $! Including tax and tip. Food was good and so was service. Just a little pricey

Earlier in the year we passed through Carbondale on our way to Redstone Castle, and as luck would have it, we were just about starving as we passed this little gem. All four of us were smitten at first sight. First, they’ve got excellent, healthy diner food. This is not really an oxymoron if you do it right. My sweet potato fries, for example, were not the usual grease-soaked, hard-crusted variety you’d expect from the average greasy spoon, but tender, lightly crispy, and scattered with just the right amount of sea salt. menu options are typical diner fare, but have an endearingly earnest, healthy twist. i am not an eater of pie, but my three companions are, and their praise of the establishment version was vehement and extended. the décor is kitchy — you couldn’t possibly expect otherwise — but surprisingly not ham-handed, with beautiful pressed-tin ceilings and something very near an air of authenticity; and swift, competent, down-to-earth waitstaff. i am a veteran of a great number of diners ranging the quality gamut from vintage dive to overly-precious-fake, and this is in the top three diners i’ve ever visited. i never go down bourbon street without getting scattered browns at Poppy’s, and likewise, i’ll never pass through carbondale again without paying a visit to this charming place.

I like the way this place looks like someone dropped a Silverline trailer in front of a gargantuan red rock. It is a pretty standard diner, one where I’d be hesitant to order anything that isn’t the most basic of items. If it existed in Denver I’m sure it would earn a lower rating, but hey it was one of the better places around as far as I can tell. The service was quick, the food was cheap, and it fueled Sir Nicholas and I for our trip home so it got the job done. I’d probably go back if I was in the area, but I’m not looking forward to it. And they only serve breakfast until 11 am. What kind of diner does that?
