Desert Mirgae Florist was great. They were extremely friendly when I called and delivered the flowers when they said they would. The arrangement was beautiful and my wife loved them. They helped me write my card and were fun to deal with. I would highly recommend them and will continue to use them myself. Thank you.

Ok, here’s the setup: It was 12 noon, on the eve of Mother’s Day. As always, I thought I had plenty of time to get it in gear. I act like a serial procrastinator, ALWAYS: I arrogantly belch at the clock, laugh out loud at my calendar, and for yet another year I threw my calling card excuse to the fates, «Yeah, I’ll make the deadline. No problem.» *Insert hysterical laughter and pointing at the buffoonish procrastinator* *Insert the wail of a buzzer popping my California bubble times 10* In vain, I called each florist Unilocal so thoughtfully provided for me to sort through, only I wasn’t sorting through them, I was scrambling! With each florist rejection, my inner monologue would ramp up it’s scolding, until it was fever pitch urgent. Nearing desperation, I could see the scene that would unfold the next day: My Mom would already be a bit sore at me, because I hadn’t sent her a Mother’s Day card(Yeah, I know, I know, I’m utterly lame-don’t even get me started on the drama that happened a few years ago, when I didn’t send her anything on Mother’s Day… yep, I REALLY got an earful then), but no flowers would arrive… tumbleweeds would scurry across her front yard(remember, this is Scottsdale, Arizona), and my Mom would forlornly stare out her front window, tears falling from her beautiful green eyes, with an ache in her heart, because her heartless daughter she gave 9 months of her life, and intensive labor to, not to mention the calamities and chaos I caused her in high school, who didn’t think to get her ass in gear, to send her a lousy card, or a single flower to… yep, I’d get a postcard at Christmas this year, if I were lucky. Cue Desert Mirage Florist, and the-rush-to-my-rescue superpowers of Mickey(sp?). Ok, she must have heard the desperation in my voice, or perhaps I was the winning caller with the most piteous story, or perhaps she liked the nickname my Mom has been calling me since I was a tot. No matter. Desert Mirage was the last on the list of chances, and after 6 solid«NO’s”(remember, this was 11th hour on Mother’s Day eve. Who can blame them?), I reached Mickey at Desert Mirage. My voice shook, and my bottom lip quivered, as I asked if she would be able to deliver an arrangement for Mother’s Day? I grimaced, as I waited for her reply. Sadly, Mickey said it would have to be for Monday, and I capitulated, understanding that this was the last minute, and Monday would have to do. Remember that scenario I envisioned? It was now in technicolor! Oh man… Mickey asked how much I wanted to spend on my Mom’s arrangement, and what I wanted the card to say. Oh, the pressure! I stumbled over what I wanted the card to say(Perhaps: «Sorry I’m a terrible daughter for procrastinating, and I only hope you won’t write me out of the will», was an idea), but after some brainstorming, Mickey and I had come up with a lovely message, for her card. Before I could reach for my credit card, Mickey said the words that almost had me on the next plane out to Scottsdale, to ask for her hand in marriage: «I’ll be happy to deliver your Mom’s arrangement tommorrow on Mother’s Day myself.» Wha!!! *Doing my happy dance* No way! WAY! I swear, I felt like a contest winner. You know how the contestants act when they hit big money on Wheel of Fortune? Well, that was me. I’ll be surprised if Mickey still has her hearing intact, I was so overjoyed that she’d be such an absolute babe, and go the distance for me! The happy conclusion to this story is, Mickey personally delivered a beautiful Mother’s Day arrangement for me, and made my Mom queen for a day, to boot. Tumbleweeds need not apply. Thank you, Mickey! I found my superhero florist in Scottsdale(who knew!), and I cannot recommend Mickey and Desert Mirage Florist highly enough to my fellow Unilocalers. Go forth, Arizonians, and give your bucks to Desert Mirage! AND, they’ll make you feel beautiful, too.
