New Balance

I love the way NB sneakers fit so I went in to see if they had any be styles. Saw some really comfortable clog type shoes but unfortunately they did not have my size. Sales help was fine and I’ll be back to try again!

Made my second visit to this store in as many years.
First visit was grim, but I put that down to a new, untrained and somewhat clumsy young salesman.
Decide to take advantage of the «We invite you to come to our store and experience the professional fit that only we offer. A highly trained New Balance Fit Specialist will gladly help you find your perfect fit and get you what you need to Make Excellent Happen.» this time as is advertised on the stores website.
They did not measure my foot, but only looked at the size label on the NB shoes I wore in the store. Seriously?
While I was waiting to be helped, I did step on the electronic what ever it is. A salesman came over and asked if I wanted to try it. «Sure» I said and he had me stand on it. It quite obviously measures heat. It DOES NOT measure size as the salesman explained to me.
I asked what was available similar to the 990 but in white. He showed me two pair and I opted to try one on. I told him they were loose in the heel and he seemed oblivious.
Again, he never offered to measure me for size.
I was tiring of the experience and said «just get me a pair of 990’s in gray» and he disappeared in the stockroom. 5 minutes passed — no salesman.
At the 10 minute mark I just left the store.
This is a New Balance store, not a store that sells NB.
They sell at absolutely 100% full retail prices.
I was willing to pay that for the service advertised.
The manager of this store should be utterly ashamed and the NB area representative should be on someone’s carpet in a quick hurry.
The complete lack of anything even resembling professionalism just drips from this store.
Treat me poorly once and I may be forgiving.
Treat me poorly twice and I’m gone.

Professional, knowledgeable, patient, courteous salesman, Dominic:
* Asked about planned use for shoes (workout, etc.)
* Measured feet electronically and using classic metal fitter
* Observed walking style
* Described pros and cons of possible shoes
* Offered appropriate choices (3^rd pair was a winner)
* Was not pushy; answered all Qs honestly
* Shared advice regarding frequency of footwear purchases, proper care of shoes, types of socks (wick moisture away to prevent fungus, discomfort)
* Efficiently completed sale, including shipping two of the pairs to home address

Having read previous reviews and having visited the city store, I didn’t have very high expectations. It took a little while for someone to help me, as the store was full. There was a nice selection of many different sneaker models. The salesperson who helped me couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. He was extremely patient and knowledgable. I am very happy with my purchase and with the service I got.

I went here thinking that a New Balance store would have more options of sneakers available than a Famous Footwear store (located about a mile down the road from here). I thought wrong. I would have given this store a 1 star rating, but the employees were both friendly and helpful. Be aware… the parking is atrocious, and the weekend is a terrible time to visit!
