Flat Rock Speedway

This is a fun place for an interesting evening out. The figure 8 races are exciting, and the people watching is utterly spectacular. The beverages are reasonably priced — $ 2 for a soda, $ 4.50 for alcoholic beverages.
If you’re planning to sit in the stands, be sure to bring a visor and sunglasses, as you’ll be facing the sun. Otherwise, bring a blanket and sit on the grass in order to avoid facing the sun.

We had a surprisingly fun night at the races. It was a beautiful day (although a bit warm with the sun directly in front of us) and a wonderful evening. The figure 8 races were so exciting. I couldn’t believe there weren’t more crashes! The two highlights were the boat races and the bus races. Crazy fun!
Didn’t have any problems with people drinking too much or behaving badly. There was a fun family atmosphere all night long. Loved the reserved seats — I think they are only a buck or two more and are def worth it!
It was our first time but I understand they do bus races again in September so we will be back.

Ok, so this really isn’t my «type» of place to hang out, but who can turn down the option of seeing a race car haul a boat in a crash derby!!! Was so much fun… they had regular racing when we got the, being I’m not a nascar person I don’t know what type of cars but there was a crash right in front of us… so that was pretty exciting, then they brought cars out hauling trailers to race, the finally a school bus race, was a fun way to spend the evening. The ticket stubs were good for free go-​cart or putt-​putt golf at Sport-​Way. They could use a few more food/​drink stands and they ran out of some ice creams which to me was no biggie, but the little girl in front of me in line was ticked to say the least ;) All in all this is a great place for the family and we would go again.

Feel the need for speed? This is your place! I’ve been sort of dating a dirty boy/​geek and I found myself here this past weekend. I’m usually not one to engage in such activities, but I can easily be persuaded by cute boys who are good with their tools…
