I’m a local so it’s not out of my way to get here. The views are beautiful. I really love the garden with the little pond. A nice place to walk the dogs.

What a beautiful park! We visited for the Native Plant and Wildflower sale on Mother’s Day weekend and stayed to enjoy a picnic and a nature hike. The forest is serene and lovely and the park area is well maintained and equally peaceful, with beautiful gardens and idyllic views. Our family will be visiting again soon… we experienced spring today but I’m certain that every season is a must-see at King’s Gap.

Visited this for the first time today. It was the Fall Festival and a great way to spend the day with the family. I would like to return to do some hiking. Mansion’s exterior is beautiful as are the back porch views. The interior of the mansion left a bit to be desired on the self-guides tour. The education center has a classrooms style room for outdoor/Wildlife education. We sis not walk through the garden and probably missed a highlight. That gives us something to do next visit.

Love this Park. There is a beautiful view from the porch of the old mansion and plenty of good hiking trails etc. I also love the Penn State gardeners garder and old water tower.

Yeah I have to agree with Jeff here, it is basically an ‘environmental education center’ that has all sorts of flowers, vegitation, flora & fauna of the south central pennsylvania region. there is a frog pond also, it has abundant marine & insect life. Great for an afternoon walk or hike, it really can help escape from daily grind. There is a mansion that has a self-guided tour too, it was a 100 year old home of the original owner, if you go out on the back deck it has some great views of the valley. over 1400 acres of land on the mountain!

7÷23÷08, 7pm. As close as this place is, I didn’t know it existed until this week. It’s basically a big hill with a mansion on top, overlooking the valley below. The view is spectacular and the grounds are clean and well-maintained. Went for a picnic after work on a Tuesday; we didn’t have time to take a hike, but we did tour the garden, which was very nice. It was teeming with bees, all going about their bee business. They were not interested in me at all, but people with allergies or small children should ‘bee’ aware(b’dum-cha!) There was a frog pond inside, and I probably saw 15 – 20 frogs. The panoramic view from the mansion’s(now an environmental education center) patio is awe inspiring. Since it faces West, it was a great place to watch the sunset. The patio was barren; it would have been nice if they had a few picnic tables or at least a bench out there. Still, the feel of the stone masonry after baking in the sun all day was incredible and the sunset was romantic and breathtaking. The facilities were adequate and in good repair. There were plenty of parking spaces and picnic tables. There is no camping or swimming, but plenty of hiking trails and a great hill to ride your bike on. The whole thing took only the slightest amount of planning and forethought, which makes it a great last-minute thing to pack up a picnic and head into the woods. Look for a cool, clear night and get out of the house for a change. MAP:

It’s pretty. It’s nature. But I’m angry. I had an interview at King’s Gap, oh, about three weeks ago. I thought I blew them away. The right mix of experience and education paired with my incredibly outgoing personality — I thought who could resist? I was told I would get a call back early the following week. That week passed and I got no call. I got a letter on Wednesday of the week after that. Thanks guys. Because I wasn’t waiting around or anything. :| There’s some nice trees and stuff, but beware for road closings(that the managers won’t tell you about) and running out of gas driving an extra 10 miles off the highway. Pine Grove Furnace seems like more fun.
