Imagine your neighborhood bar happens to be a brewery. and then imagine it plays great music, has snacks, and delicious beer to boot! The people that live around Molly Pitcher are spoiled rotten. This is a great brewery, and I’m extremely jealous of people that can go here any day they want. Minuteman Mild and Powder Horn Porter are my personal favorites, but you can’t go wrong with sampling everything they have. If I were to drive across Pennsylvania, I’d put this as an excellent place to stop for a visit.

So nice to see a brewery in Carlisle. They have a wide selection of brews. Also plenty of room with the option of tables and a bar. If you want something to eat they have pork BBQ, chips and salsa and sausages. The service is great and the atmosphere is fun. There is tv’s so you can catch up with your games.

Molly Pitcher is probably my favorite place in Carlisle. The beer is good, the food and snacks are perfect complements to a few beers, it’s got a good set up inside, and it’s relatively inexpensive(don’t tell the owners). The staff is friendly and really good at keeping the place running smoothly no matter how busy they are. Now if they install a bike rack outside, I may revise my review to six stars.

This was such a great spot. Each beer we tried(and we tried 8 – 9 in one of their«flights») was really tasty and well made. The porter was rich, but not too heavy. The red ale was brilliant. It was great to see a local brewery here and opening up a tap room. We will definitely come back.

The recent«Brewed In The Burg» documentary opened my eyes to some local breweries I hadn’t checked out yet, and with Molly Pitcher being one of many featured, I figured it was time to see if the place was worth the hype. Located on a side street in Carlisle, Molly Pitcher looks like an old store-front, complete with garage door and everything. There was one plain table outside(possibly two?) for anybody who wanted to enjoy the weather while imbibing, but my buddy and I headed inside to get a break from the heat. From the outside, this place really doesn’t look like much. We walked through the doors to find a rather large room, but only the front third or so being utilized for patrons. Everything beyond that was darkened space with brewery equipment and supplies. A few tables sit along the right side of the taproom, with another couple off to the left, and a small bar(10 seats maybe?) on the left. Behind the bar is a giant chalkboard with all food and drink options. From the looks of it, they don’t do growler fills yet, but they offer flights. I think flights(seven samples) were $ 8, and they’d add an eighth(a hard cider that another brewery makes) for an extra buck or two. Service was fabulous. All the bartenders were sociable and friendly, and checked back in on us frequently. There was one TV in the joint, which most eyes on the bar were fixed on. The bar countertop had fun activity type stuff: Brain-teaser games made of chain links and steel, as well as bar trivia books. Neither my friend nor I ordered anything to eat(we would have waited to eat there, but we didn’t see any mention of food on their website beforehand), but it looked like there were some interesting options on the board. This place is definitely cozy, and leads to many a conversation with people sitting close-by. It also has a «cool hangout» feel to it. Unfortunately, my biggest letdown was the beer. My biggest concern with smaller breweries is that the beer runs a little too much on the watery side, and doesn’t have the fuller body of some of the bigger craft breweries. That was the case here. There wasn’t a single beer that I’d go out of my way to drink again, as nothing was memorable. Some tasted like they might have been bad batches, especially the Wit. This place has some really nice things going for it, but unfortunately, the beer isn’t one of them. Anybody anxious to visit all of the central Pennsylvania breweries should probably still go here just to check it off the list, but don’t get your hopes up. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Second visit. I tried the sampler, I liked the taste of the IPA and pale ale but can not stand keg beer as it is too gassy for my stomach. The man and woman behind the bar were friendly. The place was quite busy. Outside there is now a couple of tables which is nice for a summer evening. Perhaps they will get They also have a very small food menu that seems to come from outside vendors. If this was Ausitn, TX this is the kind of place that would have a food truck outside but Carlisle codes does not allow food trucks in this part of town, which is a pity I hope they might consider a signature food dish prepared on premises as I need food to go with a beer, and also they take the next step and provide real ale cask conditioned beer on the hand pump, not the nitro rubbish.

Love this place! All of the staff are super friendly and knowledgable about the beer. The beer is good. I really enjoy the stout and porter. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I just wish they were open later
