While traveling north from Florida my husband and I were pleasantly surprised while eating at this diner. We both had the classic Rubin with crispy hot French fries and it was quite satisfying after a long day in the road. We ordered white wine and were amazed at the large serving at a low price. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I would recommend eating here.

My husband and I stopped in here on a Sunday night about 7 pm a couple of weeks ago. The near empty parking lot and few diners inside should have tipped us off, but we figured the cold windy weather was a factor. Our waitress was happy, friendly and attentive. SHE was one of the two positive things at this diner. I ordered a triple decker turkey club. The only other positive thing was that the turkey on my sandwich was real turkey meat — not deli meat. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say about this place. When the side of coleslaw that comes with your sandwich is in a half filled 2 oz cup(it was lousy, pre-made anyway) and your french fries are under cooked and the toasted bread on your sandwich is burnt around ALL of the edges, oh, and I almost forgot the side of Russian dressing I asked for… it was bland and they gave me about an ounce in a 2 oz cup. Like I said, our waitress was great but the food was horrible! And I’m not even going to get started on how dirty the carpeting was… My husband’s pizza burger was about a 1 on a scale of 1 – 5. Soooooo, don’t waste your time stopping here if you want good food!

I am giving this place 2 stars because the french fries were good and the burger wasn’t awful. I have eaten at plenty of diners and always enjoyed their food, but not only was I disappointed with this food, their service wasn’t all that great. I really wished I checked the Unilocal reviews before asking for a table. The hostess sat me down right away even though the rest of my party was not present. I sat and waited for my party for about 10 mins. The waitress walked by me numerous times and did not acknowledge me nor did she offer me a drink — -the hostess did about 8 mins later and they weren’t even busy! As a former waitress I made sure all of my customers were acknowledged the minute they sat down. Ordered reuben, grilled chicken platter, and a pizza burger. The meat was dry and over cooked and the bread was soggy from the butter. The chicken platter came with 1 small chicken breast, mixed vegetables that came from a can, and a bowl of tomato soup that also tasted like it was from a can. The burger tasted decent, but the meat was different. It reminded me of mcdonalds patties. Only plus about this place is that they serve alcohol and have good french fries. Other than that, I wouldn’t return. Note to self: no more spontaneous stops for food unless I read the reviews first.

I’ve been on the road for 15 months, and this was by far the worst meal I’ve ever had. What bartender has to Google the ingredients in a margarita? Yes you can make one! It doesn’t matter if you’re out of orange juice, you moron! Next up, my salad. Ceasar Salad includes parmesan cheese, not just lettuce and croutons, with tiny pre-packaged dressings. There was literally no chicken on the grilled chicken Ceasar Salad. The manager came over and offered me a martini. My coworker had completely tasteless crab bisque and a tomato salad with chicken salad. The tomatoes weren’t hollowed out like they are supposed to be. Instead, the tops were sliced off and a dollop of chicken salad sat on top. Truly, the worst dining experience of my life. You should shut down.

Terrible experience! Traveling from New York city with my family we stop at this restaurant. Lady at the counter was very rude and did not let my six years old son use a bathroom unless we order something. Very unprofessional! Would never recommend this place.

Wow… is being«HIGH» a requirement at this Diner? Our waitress eyes were halfway closed and emotionless… very«Don’t worry attitude».order a Monte Cristo, yuk. Gravy for mashed potatoes looked like it was just dumped it out of the premade container. I’m sure they’re either sharing a joint, needle or doing lines together in the back.

Just left diner, scariest I have seen in long time. Food bad, ordered classic Ruben and was served gray roast beef. Was told cooks new. How can’t they tell corned beef from roast beef? Fries cooked in old oil, musty tasting. Cole slaw served in catsup cups like at fast food burger joints. Two waitresses shown food both said they didn’t know what a Ruben was so couldn’t tell. Don’t know your food, learn it or get out of business. Try iron skillet next door, I am sure it is better.

I really wanted to like this place. Our server was sweet but the food was a hot mess. Somehow a chicken wrap got made into a salad and my Greek chicken sandwich somehow ended up as dry chicken breast on a bun. It is my suspicion that the cook either can’t read English or doesn’t speak it because he and the server had several discussions. My food sat in the window drying out while he remade the wrap. It took forever to get our food and there were only 5 tables in there that were full. Great concept, good server but for goodness sake, do something about the cook!!!

Decent diner food for a stop on our travels. Hubby had a Black Forest burger that he really enjoyed. Fries were good, hot and crispy. Sunny side up eggs were decent, with tasty corned beef hash on the side. Food was done very quickly. Place was empty. Service was friendly. Diner is a bit worn inside, but they were hard at work cleaning when we arrived, presumably after the normal lunch hour.

Very average place, food was ok, service was ok at best and my biggest issue was I get that it’s humid outside today but I was sweating sitting eating my breakfast and I’m in shorts and a t-shirt, even the water glass is sweating, we stopped here because it was close should have checked here on Unilocal first.

Waitress looked and acted like she was stoned. Salad came out brown on the edges, I asked the waitress for a fresh salad she came back with the same nastiness. I asked for a double order of cauliflower. Chicken Breast came out and I asked for A1 she hands me an empty bottle and says«theres probably nothing in here» can I get another bottle then«doubt the truck has come in yet but I will check». Not going back here ate there twice the week before the burger was ok, next day had a Delmonico steak it was horrible they were out of Miller Lite draft both times and the bottles were HOT.

Food was okay. Ordered the chicken and shrimp Asian stir fry. I was told about 10 minutes after ordering that they were low on rice and wondered if I still wanted the dish. I stayed the course. The stir fry was nothing to brag about especially since it almost no rice. Waitress also forgot my soup until she brought the bill. Not impressed with this diner.

This diner was… I don’t know. It was empty on a Sunday morning, which seemed suspicious to me. Perhaps people in Carlisle are good church-going folks? I do not know. The food was good and the service was great — our waitress was very nice and very attentive. The biggest issue I had was the bathroom lacked any heat. It was literally the same temperature as it was outside, which was in the low 40s. A group of guys that seemed to be on a hunting trip came in while we were there(lots of camo and a few orange vests). One of them used the bathroom and came back and told their friends that if they used it, they should take their coat with them… I couldn’t disagree with that at all! It was downright chilly in there. I don’t get how that could happen.

Poor service. Pretty much forgotten about by the staff. Food average, nothing special. But, the lack of service is what will take my business elsewhere.

Food was good and staff was very friendly. However we seen a roach on the ledge by the windows crawling right towards us… If I hadn’t just finished my food I would have left. We did not have to pay for our food but still… Would go back if they would take care of their bug problem… Beer $ 2.75 and to go a 6 pk. $ 10. WOW!!! Rip off…

This place is in need of serious renovation. I should have turned around as soon as I walked in. Lots of space but only a few customers. Sloppily written sign on front door saying«Rest Rooms For Paying Customers Only» makes you feel welcome. Rest rooms were old and musty with an empty paper towel dispenser. Ordered an open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes on wheat. Sent it back and they scraped it from white bread onto wheat like I asked for. It was so-so but not worth $ 8.95. The whole time I am sitting here there are flies buzzing around my head. I feel bad leaving a negative review as I know its not easy running a restaurant. Sorry.

This place was a good stop on our way home from Ohio. I liked the crock of French onion soup but my grandmother did not, I had a crab cake sandwich with a perfectly toasted roll. There’s a bar/lounge as well as a sweet looking bakery case. Bathroom was not great at all. Service was good even with one of our patrons picky order,

This restaurant is new, although the building is not. The new owners and ALL the employees are trying really, really, really hard to make the customers happy. There are still a few glitches to work out, but if you are a little patient, the people are so nice here that it’s hard to be disappointed. I had a chefs salad that was very fresh and sizable. Was there anything unique or memorable about it? No, but this is a basic diner serving good basic food. I looked around me and everyone seemed to be enjoying their lunch. One thing that may someday elevate this eatery to four stars or more is the fact that the warm smiles you get from management here are very genuine. If they can polish the service and checkout process a bit, they’ll have a standout in this town.
