1 800 Taxicab

This is why some people drink and drive.
I don’t want to make light of something as serious as drinking and driving, but damn, they don’t make being responsible an easy thing to do.
When you call this number (or any variety of the area-​code specific numbers on the website; mine was 818.293.8104), you are sent out to a local dispatch company. In my case, Yellow Cab. Sadly, I have no idea which Yellow Cab since they’re apparently independently owned. Of course I can’t be specific in whose fault it is!
Called at 3:30 for a cab at 4:00; being responsible to ensure on time arrival. Cab arrived at 4:40! And this is after me calling the place back three separate times. I got some bullshit «We’re sorry» answers, but no real solutions. Driver was fine, but we arrived nearly an hour late to our event (that was only 4.4 miles away, mind you!)
On the way back, called and was told by a snotty woman that I must have an exact address, and I needed to call back. Called at a business at 9:50 or so. Cab showed up at 10:45 (again after me calling) and, even with the gps, I had to play navigator.
Spent almost 2 hours of my life waiting for a cab and $ 35 bucks, when the drive would’ve been no more than 20 minutes total, round trip! We better get some ‘responsible karma’ coming around soon!
