Blo Blow Dry Bar

My mom and I tried this place for the first time today and it was great. First off their deal for $ 30 blow outs is Monday through Wednesday open to close which is a total bonus plus they were quick, friendly and did a great job. I had Hannah and she did a classic blow out on me. Loved it. I will be returning.

Love Blo! Jeanie is my gal. I go to blo twice a week for my wash and style since I finally decided to book my first appointment back in June 2015. I have not washed or blown my own hair since. People always stop me and compliment me on my hair every single day. They use Unite products which are awesome. Everyone is very nice and go out of their way to pamper you. Now, here is to the ungracious, skeptic infant Unilocaler who posted her negative review based upon her freebie service she received from her bride friend; Blo is not for you. It is for adults who appreciate being pampered. Go to Kids Kuts in Encinitas where you can be amongst your 12 yr. old and under peers. You can watch a train go round and round, watch cartoons and sit in a car where you can get your curly hair diffused all you want. Don’t forget your tip… should i say this six times?

Bottom Line: Great for the utmost special occasions or just a little pick me up.
Blo Blow Dry Bar is one of my favorite places in the Bressi Ranch shopping center. Admittedly, at first I didn’t understand why I would pay money for someone to dry my hair but now I get it! They don’t just dry your hair here, they pamper you, wash your hair, massage your sculpt and make you feel beautiful.
I’ve been here to get a new «do» before special occasions but I’ve also come here when I was too hot and lazy to do my own hair which is a wonderful treat.
The staff is very professional and great at executing hip hair-​dos. Also, I like that they really listen. For example, to help the stylist keep her schedule in time I explained to her that I had super thick hair and it would take a long time to blow dry. I thought she was going to dismiss my concern but she said, «No problem, I’ll grab another stylist and we’ll both blow dry you.» I really appreciated that she took my comment to heart and I am sure she is glad she asked for help!

Girl did a good job on my blowout. Expensive, 40 bucks plus you have to tip. Make sure to tip with cash because I pretty sure they can’t offer to put a gratuity on your bill. I was annoyed they didn’t offer me water. I saw other ladies with champane. I don’t know why the website says they offer waxing when they clearly don’t. Otherwise they offer cheaper blowout during the week. Thirty bucks. Overall staff was friendly and accomndating.

I had my hair done here for a wedding. The bride had paid in advance for the group so that they would hold an appointment for us. I have very curly hair and arrived there with very low expectations that since its called a Blow Dry bar all I would ask for would be for my hair to be washed and defused. WELL to my surprise! They don’t have diffusers. Literally my hair was pulled out of my pony tail, teased and combed back to half a pony tail. UGH. If you have curly hair the first rule any stylist knows is that you don’t comb curly hair. The girl that was «teasing» my hair also asked if my stylist hated me, because my highlights were done sooo badly. Also I must have been asked nothing short off 6 times for gratuity because it was not included in what the bride had paid already. Not very classy. Very unfortunate experience, I would not recommend this place if you have curly hair, they do not know how to work with it.

I love love love this place! The front desk staff is always so kind and make a point of referring to you by name. They always offer a drink upon arrival, which is so kind.
I bought a Blo Tab, which is eight visits. It just makes it convenient to not have to pull out my credit card every time. Only cash to tip the stylist.
I love their Unite products so much that I bought some for myself and only use that on my hair now!
Parking can be annoying if the shopping center is busy, but there’s usually zone around back. Around lunch time or after about 4 p.m., is when parking is the worst. I’ve been around 9 a.m. before and parked literally steps from the door.
Highly recommended. Kaileigh is my go to person!

I love this place! I had my hair and makeup done here by Elie (maybe, I am really bad with names). I was super happy. My hair stayed curled the whole day even when I was outside! So glad I found this place!

Went on their website and reserved a time to get my hair done. I was kind of excited because I’ve always wanted to get my hair done at a dry bar.
I got their right on time and was offered a beverage upon arrival. Their front receptionist are really organized and are great with service!
I had to get my hair done for the marine ball. It was my first time going to one so I wanted everything to be perfect!
The girl that did my hair was nice, but really really quiet. The most amount of conversation I had was when she was washing my hair, but after that it was dead silent. She made no attempt of conversation. I kind of felt a bit awkward sitting in a chair for 45 minutes with no conversation. But if you like that, then she’s your girl.
She did a great job with my hair, which I why I rated this place 4 stars. Though, I did have to ask for hairspray.
If you want to pamper yourself up, definitely come here! The prices are pretty reasonable.

First time going to a blow dry bar and I would definitely come again. I recommend making an appointment ahead of time because I had no wait when I arrived. Prices are reasonable. They asked and listened to what I wanted and went above my expectations. Everyone was super sweet and attentive. I came for hair and makeup for the Marine Corps ball and left feeling pampered and beautiful. Both hair and makeup lasted all day; I couldn’t have been happier. The only downside was I didn’t want to remove my makeup at the end of the night haha.

Not a good blow out. Sad to say but the girl that did my hair did not at all listen to what I needed done. I have curly hair and with the hot humid weather we’ve been having I asked for sleek straight and instead got frizzy puffy hair.

I go every Tuesday and See Genie, who is amazing. I have long think hair and she whips into shape in 45mins. You cannot ask for more.

LOVE this Blo bar! It’s the best one I’ve ever been too. I’ve been here for many major milestones… from getting ready for my high school reunion to my engagement party to my bridal shower and as I type this, my wedding rehearsal dinner. It’s such a fun, inviting and special place. The ladies are so sweet and I always love my hair… and it lasts all night! Highly recommend this one.

I have had bad blow dry bar experiences, so I was hesitant to try this one as I didn’t want to flush my money down the toilet as I have previously. This place is great! I have been back three times already. The first time Lindsey was my stylist and she did a great job! As a result, I have requested her each time thereafter.
I am going in tomorrow morning with a different stylist as Lindsey isn’t available, but I am confident that she will be just as good!

I love the staff at Blo. I’ve been coming here since they opened and I always leave looking and feeling like a princess. Nava has the best people skills I’ve ever seen and she exemplifies exactly what Blo is all about. If I could give them a 10, I would ;)

Got the «pillow talk» and she did an amazing job. Also got deep conditioning treatment. The entire process took about an hour. Pretty good for dealing with my hair. My hair is super long, thick, and wavy. I was pleasantly surprised.
Only con is the price. Paid $ 55. Add the tip and youve just paid anywhere from $ 60 to $ 80! For double I could have gotten a Brazillian blowout.
Anyway, the result looked very good!

The ladies at Blo are amazing! I had such a great experience here I can’t wait to go back. I’ve never had a blow out before but now I see what all the fuss is about.
The salon itself is very upscale and so cute with an all white modern design and fun girly pops of pink everywhere. It’s very clean and welcoming, and they even serve champagne! Great busy location too– adorable shopping center.
I got a shampoo and blow out, and the price was very reasonable considering the level of service. The stylist did a beautiful job with my hair, leaving it soft, wavy, full of volume and just the right amount of bounce.
They can get really busy, especially during peak prom/​wedding season, so make your appointment as far in advance as possible!
Only bad thing I would point out is that if you’re not from the area, it may be a bit hard to find. My navigation kept directing me a few blocks away to an industrial business complex, but I finally found it after circling the area a few times.

This was my first visit here and maybe I just had higher expectations. I’m not entirely sure if it was me or my stylist, but my hair turned out just so-​so for a charity event that I was attending for the evening. Definitely not something to write home about! I picked one of the styles from their menu and saw another client walk away with the style that I would have given five stars for, which is why I’m saying not sure if it was my hair or the stylist.
I will give them another try though with another stylist and see if that will make me upgrade my review!
