Kam Shave Ice

I love Kams Shave Ice! Authentic Hawaiian shave ice is not easy to come by on the mainland even though its the new popular treat. Kams is great at what they do and offer all of the usual topping you would find at Matsumoto“s or Aoki’s on the North Shore.
Someone reviewed that they didn’t like Kams style of ice and that it wasn’t like Hawaii, I completely disagree and recommend he tries it again. As with all Shave ice stands in Hawaii their styles are different, Waiola’s is known for being extra fluffy, and Matsumoto’s a little firmer that Japanese love! If you like it fluffier just ask they can adjust the machine to do it! (Not many people know this).
I love the P.O.G. (Passion Orange Guava) over vanilla ice cream, so ono! They are great to have cater a party and you can find them around town, we just had them at the «I love Poke» Festival at Bali Hai, awesome festival if you get the chance next year!

I hired Kam Shave Ice to cater a party I had for family and friends a couple weekends ago. My husband is an avid shave ice fan, so we had high standards for the quality of the product. It did not disappoint!
The shave ice cart arrived early, and, although our agreement was for 2 hours of service and 50 servings, I am convinced she served more! It was a huge hit on a warm summer day, and I would definitely hire them again.

I have traveled all over San Diego in search of an Authentic Hawaiian shave ice and I have finally found it! They had a mobile cart set up at the Oceanside Sunset market on Thursday night and had Everything I wanted. I took a large P.O.G. (passion-​fruit, orange, and guava) with vanilla ice cream. I also had them add on their Li hing mui powder to top it off. So good! The stuff was like a mound of the freshest snow bursting with flavor! I was taken closer back to the North Shore with every bite. ;) If you want the best Shave ice I have found thus far. you have to check out Kam Shave Ice. Like their logo says: Aloha in a cup… ;)

Kam Shave Ice is amazing yuminess!!! I first got to try their shave ice at the San Diego Poke Festival in April and fell in love immediately! They are the best shave ice experience I have had on the mainland! Not only are the flavors amazing but they offer condensed milk, mochi bits and my favorite, li hing mui powder!!! After talking with the owner, who is an absolute sweetheart, I found out that she makes her own syrups, she does a wonderful job and brings a real sense of aloha to San Diego! The next month a friend of mine booked Kam Shave Ice for an event and it was a hit, everyone loved it and said the service was beyond great! I also found them on facebook, so you can see when and where they’ll be next! I am truly excited to have an authentic hawaiian shave ice here in San Diego and hope everyone gets the opportunity to check them out! For your taste of Hawaii, I would definitely recommend Kam Shave Ice!

Shave ice is a simple treat. And Kam’s rocks it. They have a great selection of flavors and extra toppings (condensed milk, sour spray, sour plum powder) and it’s pretty affordable. They don’t charge extra for extra flavors (up to 3) and toppings which is nice. Their Tiger’s Blood is amazing and the P.O.G. (Passion fruit, orange-​passion, guava) is one of my favorite combinations. They rock! The lady at the stand by the pier is so nice and sweet. She actually remembered me and my friend when we came by a second time too. Kudos on customer service!

we consider ourselves hawaiian shave ice connoisseurs :) we frequent tropical rush, (our fav in haleiwa) matsumoto’s, aoki’s, waiola’s, had plenty of aloha stadium swap meet shave ice and kam’s is up there with the big boys. the ice is very fine (just like we like it) their flavors are the bomb especially the tiger’s blood, honeydew melon, and banana top em’ with mochi bits and the snow cap, SO ONO! since we found them we’ve visited every sunday no matter the weather. they’re super friendly and fast! get over there and try it for yourself, you won’t be sorry :)

This place has ok shaved ice. Not as good as true hawaiian shaved ice. The ice is not shaved as fine as i would like.
