Las Villas De Carlsbad Health Center

Now after several more months here I have appreciated several outstanding meals! Tho still not the norm, many meals are to look forward to and appreciate. The chef clearly works hard within the constraints of feeding so many with so many restrictions, from individual needs and corporate restraints. Las Villas de Carlsbad is a remarkable value considering all the issues. I hardily recommend you consider joining our community!

my friend has been living here for a couple of years. the food is dreadful, her room filthy and she has had all of her jewelry stolen besides food and other items.
now she is saying «they are mean to me»! this is a very intelligent person with all of her mental prowess in place!
terrible, terrible, terrible!!!

My mom has been here for two nights now and it has been hell. It took someone an hour and a half to see her when she first arrived. She was given warm tap water to drink. They thought it would be a good idea to put in carpet during the night starting at 8pm. The machines were so loud that you could not hear anyone talk. Even the nurses were getting headaches, and the patients were very agitated. She could not get assistance (probably because they couldn’t hear the call) and ended up falling!
If you are looking for a place for your loved one to get skilled nursing this is not it.

Facility is older and needs new phone system. The people who assist the elderly are pleasant.
Billing is a nightmare. If there are any discrepancies, it takes forever to resolve, and they don’t return phone calls.
They were in a huge hurry to get my mother’s things out of her room after she died, and we still haven’t received a refund for the rest of the month. That was four months ago.

This place at first was really nice, the staff seemed like they really cared. My grandpa had to come here so he could get additional tests done. My concern was not for the way the treated him because we came back 4 – 5 times a day to make sure my grandpa was comfortable but it was the lack of communication they had between the dr and the hospital. They had even «forgot» to register my grandpa in his initial check in. They did not realize they didnt check him in until the day they were going to check him out to go back to the hospital. Which was a even worse mistake because the DR misdiagnosed him on the out take sheet. So my grandpa was stuck in the ER for 8 hours waiting for the nurse at Las villas to «try» to get ahold of a dr. It was awful. The night before the Dr and RN assured us they had it all taken care of and my grandpa would get the necessary treatment. They only thing that really upset us was the fact they would not take responsibility of their mistake and simple replied «well atleast they are admitting him now». Ya 8 hours later my grandpa had to wait in the ER with no food, or water. Finally they started a IV. I do agree that the people that work there are very nice and try the best they can. But the incompetence and lack of communication is un-​exceptable in a facility were so many peoples loved ones are!

My father has been at the health center for almost a week now and I loooove that we found this place for him to start rehab and get his physical therapy on! The staff has been more than amazing! From the front desk, admissions, the RNs, CNA’s, PT, OT, catering and activities department… dude, even maintenance! They always have smiles on their faces and I feel so comfortable knowing my dad is in good hands. If you are looking for a place for your loved one to get great care and rehabilitation. This is the place =)
Update February 2012:
My dad was here for 3 months, he was well taken care of by this facility! Both my dad and I miss seeing everyone.
