Walked up to the bar and ordered a champagne cocktail. Big mistake. First, the champagne flute wasn’t chilled, the bartender did not add any cognac(which he was supposed to), the prosecco looked(and tasted) semi-flat, and to top it off, he poured room-temperature syrup instead of using a sugar cube. Unbelievable. Just to be fair, this bartender was not in uniform, so for all I care to know, he could be the manager, which made this even worse. Very disappointed.

I would frequent this lounge because it had an inviting feel to it, pretty much it had that vibe of to just break away from what ever is troubling you and enjoy a cocktail. The Lobby Lounge is seriously a nice place to just come and chill. Grab yourself a cocktail or two, maybe enjoy a meal as you look over the beautiful landscape that the Hyatt offers. Enjoy a refresher while relaxing in their comfortable chairs, or even there lounge couches. If you are not one to stay locked up inside, venture off onto the patio with the fire pits keeping you warm at night with the comfortable sofas. I am telling you there is nothing more relaxing than the ocean air, with palm trees surrounding you. The bar area is also beautiful if you want to enjoy a beverage. Mirrored backing with clear lit up shelves showing off the liquors, with the fine Southern California crafts on tap in the middle. I mean you really can’t go wrong especially with that marble topped bar that makes it all pop. There are TVs located in areas o if you need to keep up with whats going on, or maybe its the fan in you. I experienced this where a group of us were watching the U.S.Ladies just handle China while enjoying a libation or two. There really isn’t a bad spot in here where ever you decide to just and enjoy a cocktail or two. The wait staff and bartenders are a great group. They do their best to accommodate to your needs. Jesse, is a waiter that made sure I along with other patrons had everything we needed. The bartenders Jared and Michael know how to make a great drink, or even make a great recommendation in case you are uncertain in what you are looking for. Who wouldn’t appreciate that I ask you? A clean crisp looking bar that the libation gods and I would certainly approve of. I know I will be visiting these guys again, just for that hospitality(and maybe that dirty martini) I received while staying there.

Seriously UNREAL customer service at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. Service was so slow while having a girls tea. We had to flag down the waiter to bring the bill. Who then drops it off and disappears. 30 minutes go by before I had to walk to the bar to get some service. 3 servers cannot figure out how to split the tab with cash and 3 cards. slightly complicated I know, but if I can figure it out… anyone can. They tried to short us $ 35 dollars in change. Took about 30 minutes to finally finish the bill. I stood around for 10 minutes waiting for my car at the valet. My car. that I could SEE20 feet in front of me… and now, I’m looking at my bank statement and not only did they charge me my portion of the bill which was $ 38,75… but another $ 242.00. with no authorization. I am fairly certain there is STEAM coming out of my ears. After a phone call to speak with a manager all I got is a voicemail box. UGH! Food was good, but for $ 30… I expect MUCH better service.

Love coming here for tea but it needs a little work. The tea pots are too small and not hot enough. We had to ask for refills in the small pot of tea. They don’t let the tea steep long enough before they pour. Although nice, it seems like the employees are not knowledgeable about high tea. The live piano music is wonderful and the food is good. The clientele isn’t as fancy as it used to be when it was a Four Seasons so that kind of takes away from the ambiance in the lobby. Will continue to come to tea here several times a year because there really aren’t any other options in north county.

Beautiful surroundings. We just had drinks and appetizers on the veranda. Pathetic service. Waited too long for everything all night long. Hey wait staff… Acknowledge the customer when they sit down at a minimum. Then communicate when things go wrong

If you’re looking for a classy, high end type of feel for afternoon tea then the Hyatt Aviara could definitely be an option! They’re tucked away up high above the residential area of Carlsbad(next to the Four Seasons) and have quite a nice view. The ‘lobby lounge’ is where afternoon tea takes place evey Friday-Sunday from 2pm-4pm and recommendations are highly recommended just because they’re so busy! Traditional tea is $ 30 + tax and this includes some real great tea sandwiches, amazing dessert options, and a fresh scone which are all delicious! I typically prefer green or white tea, and maybe sometimes something herbal — depending on my mood — but as soon as I saw the ‘Chocolate Orange Truffle’ I had to try it — it’s a black tea, btw). Unfortunately I had real bad allergies so couldn’t really smell my tea but it tasted more chocolate-y than anything and was real good! I love their options of finger sandwiches. The smoked chicken and smoked salmon were my favorite, but the egg, cucumber, and beef were good as well! Not one had too much cream cheese and everything was presented picture perfect(photo: ). All their desserts were great, but the pistachio macaron was my fave! Parking valet only — but FREE if you get it validated, so dont forget! :) The service is great from the minute you pull up!

Whenever I travel oversea, I notice how much people love afternoon tea. This is especially true when I was in Tokyo recently, so I decided to check out a few places here in US. Inside the Park Hyatt, Lobby Lounge offers afternoon tea service after 2 pm from Friday to Sunday. The tea itself was fine, but everything else from pastries to sandwiches was lackluster. It didn’t help when the tea set and furniture started to show some wear and tear.

I can see why the Four Seasons quit managing the place. The only restaurant open in the hotel on a Sunday was the Lobby lounge serving tapas. Ordered 3 tapas and took almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The duck confit flatbread was way too salty. The empanadas were too overfried. And the lobster pasta was some kind of dried out pasta. The best item of value was the cheese plate — 3 big pieces of gourmet cheese for $ 8.

My cousin and I recently went here for their Afternoon Tea service and it was fantastic. Location: Lobby Lounge of the Park Hyatt Avaira Resort in Carlsbad Parking: Free Valet Service(Lobby Lounge needs to validate your valet ticket) Reservations: Yes — definitely make a reservation. Cost: Traditional tea is $ 30 + taxes & gratuity/Royal Tea(includes a glass of sparkling wine, port, or sherry) $ 37 + taxes & gratuity Service: Superb! Everyone from the valet service to the staff serving high tea — they really make your visit a welcome and special one. Food: We did the traditional tea. They actually bring over a box that has all the available tea sin vials so you can see what the leaves look like and also smell them. t was really cool getting to pick your tea out that way. The staff was the right amount of attentive and knew when to come over to refill the tea pots which was great. The food came traditionally on a three tiered platter. It was gorgeous! You really must come to afternoon tea hungry! We started with the savory items(bottom tier) — curry chicken salad tart(YUM), stuffed Carlsbad strawberries(with borsin cheese!), mini roast beef sandwich, smoked salmon and cucumber mini sandwiches. All super yummy. Next tier up — really light and airy pastries and cream puffs. Last tier — a scone and a wonderful parfait. The only item I did not like that much was the scone. It was on the dry side and I was also comparing it to the scone I had at The Westgate Hotels Afternoon Tea and it could not match that quality and deliciousness. Overall — we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back.
