They get one star for their clothes because they do have nice clothes, and right now for the holidays, they have good sales. The sales are good because their clothes are a bit overpriced so with the sale it brings them down to reasonable pricing other stores have. I have been in many times and finally decided to write about their customer service. I have never had good customer service when I’ve been there, today was no exception! It really wasn’t busy but not one of the salesladies greeted anyone in there nor did they offer anyone any help. They weren’t busy ringing anyone up… They were just standing around talking to each other and watching people come in through the door, but never greeted anyone. Other customers noticed the same thing and said they had been in before & received the same treatment as well and were hoping to give them a second chance. A few of us walked out not purchasing anything today because it was too difficult to get help on price checks or size checks or even getting salespersons’ attention!

I have returned to Anne Taylor Loft. I had not shopped there for years. Fortunately I went to the store in the Forum center in Carlsbad California. There were two women who helped me. They were Ashley and Norma Jean. They were amazing. They helped me put together several fantastic outfits. The Loft clothes are as I remembered, There were many items on sale and the quality of the merchandise has not changed. I have visited other Anne Taylor Lofts in the area however the Forum store is the best for selection and service. .

Their petite section rocks and their general selection has some great stuff. I am only writing this review due to the customer service at this store. I went in looking for a dress in their petite’s section on a Wednesday night for an event I had at work the following day. The store was empty, which was great and there were two women there chatting when I walked in. They were both laughing and talking(obviously mid-story) and as I walked in, they both continued talking, one glanced up, but neither one said hello or welcomed me. 10 minutes later, I was holding 2 items, about ready to try it on, but neither offered to get me a dressing room. I finally had to ask and then have her find her keys somewhere else at the store. When I was finally in the dressing room, you’d think if I was the only one in the store, that I’d at least get someone to come by and ask if I need another size or color as they indicated as they unlocked the door? Nope. Had to put all my clothes back on and go out there, look for it myself. Turns out one of them was folding in the front and the other had disappeared to the back. Almost walked out at this point because it was so rude, but I needed something to wear the following day. Looked for other colors in what I tried on and said that I like fitted dresses from the petite section, as I am 5’1″ and anything without a waist or tailoring looks awful on me. The woman proceeds to show me all prints, asks if I want things from the regular section, and brings out 2 shift dresses. boxy, sleeveless items. Basically a 180 from what I was trying on and what I requested. A 4P fits me perfectly. Why would you bring me a 2R and say it’s the same thing(when I have clearly stated otherwise)? It is not. I prefer their Fashion Valley location due to more helpful staff. This location is a little too standoffish for me. I know I shop in my yoga pants and a t-shirt, but you could at least to treat me with respect and help a girl out.

Ann Taylor & Ann Taylor Loft are my first choices for clothes anytime I’m shopping… So when I stopped by(by accident) on a Tuesday night to find out they were having a 30% off reduced items sale, a 10% for the first Tuesday of the month sale, and I had a 30% off for Family & Friends sale that could ALLBECOMBINED — I went a little crazy. Th tops are always beautifully formed to flatter with pleats and tucks in all the right places. I would recommend checking out the Petite section for some shirts whether or not you fir the descriptions of under 5’4″ because it still might work better — it does for me a lot of the time. Their simple shirts and work trousers and shoes are my favorites.

I love Ann Taylor Loft, which is totally different from Ann Taylor(which I agree with the other reviewers about). I do see some ad campaigns for Ann Taylor regular which look appealing, but I can’t imagine the fit is any more flattering, and they are still high priced. I consider myself stylish and I am in my early 40s, so I do go for a somewhat tailored though boho look, and for me, Ann Taylor delivers the basics with a little flair. It’s the perfect place for a cashmere sweater or T to go with other stuff. Most important, I am petite, and I can actually buy their petites and wear them off the rack. I wish they were a little tighter in the derrière, but depending on the cut, I can find a whole lot of clothes without spending a whole lot more at the tailor. Honestly, since I moved to San Diego, I only shop at Ann Taylor Loft, Nordstrom, Anthro, and the Barney’s outlet, a few boutiques occasionally(though they rarely have stuff I can’t find for cheaper online) and then look for interesting stuff online. The staff at Ann Taylor Loft in Carlsbad is always so friendly and helpful, I find buying something there on a regular basis.

This store is found in the Carlsbad Forum and I’ve found it to be hit and miss with the inventory. The only reason why I come here sporadically is because they carry casual clothes in petite sizes. I usually find a good pair of shorts or khaki’s but that’s all that I’ve really found here. Although I’m a fan of Ann Taylor clothing(love their suits), I’ve found that the casual clothing line at the Loft stores to be a little drab. I’ve noticed a shift in styles but I still never find anything. The staff at this location has never been overly pleasant but I’m usually in and out after looking at their petite line in the back of the store. Most of the time, I’m never acknowledged but I’m become accustomed to this here and don’t expect much. They are usually more concerned about stocking the store then they are about acknowledging their customers. A decent store to check out while shopping in the upscale Forum shopping area, but don’t expect to get the greatest service.
