Didnt get the name of the girl helping us. She was nice but, she had her boyfriend husband whoever he is calling her the whole time she was assisting us. We only come in to pick out frames because we already had a prescription and she was going back and fourth from the phone to us. Im sorry but when your with a customer your supposed to give your full attention to them not the phone especially when you already know that its your family calling. Very unprofessional!

I was a patient of Dr. Dewan and was bummed when I heard she moved. Dr. Karouna is the in-house optometrist and I can’t say enough great things about him and my visit. He was both professional and personable. He took the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. I’m glad to call him my new optometrist. The team on the other side of the wall are awesome too! Props to Pedro and Kayla! I called ahead of time to price check(Sears vs. Costco) and what do you know, they were by far, CHEAPER! They said to come in so I could order more contacts. They helped me order a year supply of contacts. They worked with my insurance to keep the cost LOW. I was stoked by the huge savings AND they gave me an additional rebate. Also, I had my last pair of contacts in while washing my face the night before and one of them popped out and became MIA… I had to wear my dreaded glasses to work before coming into Sears Optical to order more contacts. I asked if I could get a trial pair to tide me over until I got my new lenses and Pedro made it happen. Customer service is paramount here and I’m happy to go to Sears Optical for all my eye care needs. Check them out!

8÷21÷15 Update. Dr. Karouna was highly professional and helpful. The manager /receptionist was also very nice. I took 1 star off because I was not told that just trying on specialty contact lenses(which doctor recommended) incurred a $ 70+ fee not covered by insurance. Also, both Dr. Karouna and the manager/receptionist misinformed me about the pricing. Dr. Karouna said that specialty lenses were just«tiny bit» more expensive(they were almost twice as more expensive), and the receptionist assured me that the price for contacts became nearly same last year regardless where I buy, including at Costco(but the price was actually 1.6-fold cheaper when I checked). Other than what seems to be fradulent marketing strategies(or incompetence), I would still recommend them but be careful and compare prices. With an eye insurance, I would suggest that you do eye exam with them, but possibly get contacts elsewhere(e.g. at Costco and request to be reimbursed by your insurance). 5÷24÷15 I was pleased with my eye exam by Dr. Anika Dewan. It happened to arrive 15 min late, and I worried I may have missed my appointment. However, Dr. Dewan was super friendly and professional. I did need to wait maybe 15 min until another person was seeing. The exam was fairly fast, and my prescription was accurate. I opted not to do eye dilation during my checkup, but Dr. Dewan was nice to said that I can follow-up with dilation within 30 days at no cost as it was included. Furthermore, Dr. Anika suggested a useful combination of OTC reading glasses over contacts, something what has never suggested by other optometrists. I took my prescription elsewhere, but later decided to go with Sears Optical after all as they accept my insurance directly. The staff(Jose and Barbara) are very professional, too. Cons(which were minor to me) The cost of contacts at Sears was 1.5x more than in Costco. The Sears Optical offered a manufacture rebate to reduce the cost. The net difference made Costco still a more economical option, but I went with Sears for convenience. You may also want to remember to check if you got you insurance card back and travel size contact lens cleaning solution(both I and Dr. Anika forgot these :) I would recommend this place mostly because Dr. Anika is very nice and professional, and Sears Optical accepts seem to accept more insurances than some other places(e.g an obscure insurance, like EyeMed, that I had). But you may want to consider ordering your contacts or glasses elsewhere(e.g. Costco).

Worst experience ever! I got a prescription from Dr. Dewan in Jan of 2013 which was accurate. I went back in Feb of 2014 and did an eye exam with Dr. Tang at her office. Because of a mixup on frames with Lens Crafters, I needed a copy of the prescription and I had to call Dr. Dewan’s office FOUR times before it was sent to me. Her assistant Barbara even said to me on the 4th call, «I dont know why she hasn’t sent that to you yet, I gave her the message.» She finally emailed it to me and I paid for glasses to be made elsewhere and the prescription was wildly inaccurate. My right eye’s prescription was 300% stronger after one year(and this didn’t apparently ring any alarm bells with Dr. Tang.) After making another appointment for another eye exam, I was contacted that day by someone at Sears with«Hey, we haven’t seen you in a year, when are you coming back in for an exam?» Um… duh. «I had an appointment for a re-test today but I need to move it anyway,» I told her. She scheduled me for this last Friday. I took time off work and showed up on Friday and guess what? The doctor doesn’t work on Fridays. I told Barbara, the office woman, I wanted a refund so I could go to a REAL optometrist who has her(you know what) together and I was told they don’t offer refunds on «services». I asked her what services she was referring to. So I call Dr. Dewan today and tell her the whole story. She swears to me up and down that she sent the prescription after the FIRST time she was given the message, not the 4th and tells me that they don’t give refunds because it was«time spent». What about my time??? The four calls it took to get the WRONG prescription sent? The money spent on glasses I have to throw away because Dr. Tang sucks? Dr. Dewan even had the audacity to tell me I shouldn’t have an issue with her because it was Dr. Tang who had screwed up. Um… you’re the one who hired her and your’e the one I paid so don’t pass the buck. This«doctor» is incompetent, the staff is incompetent and after all the money and time I wasted, I’m back at square 1, with no prescription and I’m out $ 200 between the eye exam and glasses. PLEASE take your business to a doctor who wont blow you off and mis-schedule your appointment(then blame Sears because«they’re the ones who make those calls, not my office.») This chick is a joke and I’m going to go find a doctor who hires competent people, takes responsibility and offers refunds after dropping the ball 7 times with one patient.

I went there to get a prescription and new glasses with no appointment. They were able to see me right away and everyone was wonderful. The Doctor was very nice also and explain different important thing about the health of my eye. I did have a problem locating the frames that I want. they could use to add more frames available. I went to another place to get the frame that I want but I am still waiting for my glasses.

Dr. Dewan was super friendly and helpful. She seems to run her own show without the help of a front office crew. She even called for my insurance verification. I think it would be easier on her if she had some help and service may be a bit faster, but other than that, I had no complaints. She is great!

I have been a patient at this location for over a year and when I heard the previous doctor had moved on I was a bit reluctant to try the new one, but I am glad I did. Dr. Dewan is wonderful and incredibly helpful. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

I had the best experience at Dr. Dewan’s office. I have never left my eye doctor feeling pleased with my exam until now. I lost my glasses in the ocean and needed to get new glasses and contacts as soon as possible. Dr. Dewan was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule right away! I left with a pair of trial contacts and new prescriptions for contacts and glasses! She was so efficient and thorough.

I just have to start by saying I haven’t seen an optometrist in years. When I came to Dr. Dewan for a checkup, not only did I learn so much about my eye health, but I left thinking I can’t wait for my next checkup with her! What I thought was going to be a routine eye appointment in my day of errands, ended up being such a fun and pleasant break in my afternoon. After filling out forms, I was seen by Dr. Dewan within just a few minutes. The entire time she made me feel like I was her favorite patient, making conversation and giving me great advice about taking car of my eyes. Rather than making me feel like I had waited too long to come to the optometrist, she made me feel good about myself and made me want to be more proactive in my eye care. I would highly recommend Dr. Dewan if you are in need of an optometrist. Thanks Dr. Dewan for such a great experience!
