Service was good and food was also. But overpriced and underwhelming. We’ll probably try it again and see if the food was just off tonight. But the prices were the main detractor. There’s just too much better food and drinks to be had for similar prices nearby.

A great start to a weekend. It was our first time visiting. From my Old Fashion, to the perfect Prime Rib, smooth Roasted Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Fresh pan cooked green beans, followed by warm Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream… I couldn’t say enough good things. We will be back. Simple food, simple drink, simple setting all done well.

Service sucks! 8 of us came in and there were 3 tables open, the waitress refused to move the two tables together to seat us and made us wait for the large party to leave. Not a good impression for our first time here. The food was way over priced for what you get. Don’t order the $ 9 asparagus appetizer — you only get two pieces, still upset about that, it was also over cooked, I’m pretty sure it was cooked earlier and warmed up. I would have returned it, but I was starving since we had to wait so long for our table. Because there is no real place to wait in there we all just ramdomly stood around, the rude waitress almost ran into me, and didn’t even say sorry or excuse me. Maybe she was having a bad night. The prime rib was really tough on the outside, the onion soup was way over spiced, too strong… The pizza dough was not cooked all the way. Nice atmosphere, but don’t waste your time going here. I even private messaged the owner who said sorry, and wanted us to give them. another chance, no way he also said they try to accommodate everyone, no you dont, 8 people! That’s 2 tables! Will not be going back! Bad service + overpriced bad food = No going back!

Their blonde ale is terrific, but once our food arrived, I enjoyed it so much that I forgot all about the beer.

Is a good place for sandwiches and beer quite disappointed with all other dishes. Service left a lot to be desired. We got checked on only once and for refills I had to get the wait staff’s attention. Overall I would say go to this place for drinks not so much for food.

This is a great sports bar if you are in Carlton! It gets a little busy during weekend nights but worth the wait!

I eat here on occasion and the food is fantastic. Really good selection of beer and wine. The wait staff has always been friendly to me. I would like to give barrel 47 five stars but I cannot due to their standard definition tvs. Cmon guys! HD please.

My husband and I just had the Burgundy steak special. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a mushroom burgundy sauce, mashed potatoes & fresh green beans. We’ve eaten in NY, Chicago and SF, but this was one of the best meals we’ve had.

Slowest service possible. Over 1.5 hours before we received food. Ridiculous wait time considering we ordered salads and sandwiches. When food finally arrived it was mediocre at best. BLTA had no avocado and chicken was overcooked on the salad. Server was friendly though and Rueben was excellent.

Love this place! Local joint with tasty treats made from scratch. Friendly staff that recognizes us every time. Comfort food at its best and a great bar to match. The fried chicken is the BOMB!

Amazing burger with blue cheese and the best french fries ever. The nachos are amazing!!! And the staff is so sweet. I love how they kept the old vault door from the bank. Now my favorite place to eat

Came in for lunch today with my family while visiting Carlton for the afternoon. Cute place with a casual atmosphere. We had a cheeseburger, veggie burger and BLTA. All were tasty and I upgraded to sweet potato fries which were delish. Only one waitress working but she did an amazing job taking care of the whole restaurant with a smile and friendly attitude. Prices were a bit high compared to comparable meals I’ve had. They have high chairs if you’ve got a little one dining with you like we did. Overall a nice place to stop for lunch if you’re in Carlton.

I had prime rib and Kolsch was very good, the girlfriend had a blue burger and they took it back to cook it more and gave her a new one, nice staff, great food. Try the wine tasting room next door for the ultimate win!

We tried Barrel 18 on Saturday for an early mothers day dinner. It was our first time, i believe they are the same owners as Barrel 47. Service was friendly, but they took over 15 minutes just to get our appetizer of chips and salsa to the table. I figured the chips would be freshly made and hot for it to take that long, but that didn’t appear to be the case. For the overall quality of the food, I would say the price was a bit steep. It was $ 69 for chips and salsa, individual pizza, blta, and two burgers, with soda. Don’t know that we’ll go back again for that cost.

3 friends and I came here for lunch during a day of wine tasting. We ordered different things, fish & chips, cheese Fondue, french dip and I had the cheese pizza. There wasn’t much flavor in the cheese pizza, the sauce was pretty bland. My friend, that ordered the french dip mentioned that she had to pay $ 3 extra for the sweet potato fries upgrade, which seems kinda steep in my book. Overall, the prices were spend and the food was not that impressive. We looked at another table and the hamburger was HUGE, so maybe that is worth trying. But, if you are debating between different business establishments to eat at in Carlton, I recommend trying another place over Barrel 47. The service was not that notable either, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great overall. I’d recommend going to a different place in Carlton if you have a choice.

Nice place with good selection of local wine and craft beer. The atmosphere is modern with a rustic wine country charm. I went twice while visiting a buddy in the area. We had the same server both nights who was engaging, efficient and at all times pleasant. I forget her name but she has a daughter named Everly I believe. What drops the experience below 4 stars is a somewhat disconnected experience with the manager/owner. Large bearded fellow. First was a somewhat awkward exchange with a patron seated next to us at bar. Sort of walked over server, interrupted her, etc. kind of interrupted the fun vibe. The second one is the same dude on the next day started delivering paper goods and other products through the front door around 5pm on a Saturday. I get it, we all need TP, but either go through the back door or plan ahead buddy. Just sort of awkward, and it’s cold outside! All in all a good place worthy of a visit. Of note burgers are expensive and too heavy on the bun, but the remainder of the menu is well priced in particular the apps.

This review is to help your business not to hinder. I have been in food-service for 22 years. From running a retail bakery to owning a restaurant. I know there is always room for improvement and kinks to work out, especially in your first two weeks/month. Friday, about 5:25 was my first time walking through the door of the new Barrel 47. I received a menu from an employee that worked back of the house and I went to sit down at one of the round tables with the leather chairs against the west wall. Looking around and observing all the food that came out of the kitchen made my mouth water and I was having a hard time deciding, I sat there looking at the menu, putting it down, looking at the menu, setting it down. I finally decided. With the open atmosphere and layout or the restaurant I thought I was pretty visible since there was nothing else against the wall where I sat… I don’t think my jacket could of screamed any louder. I was wearing bright red. I kept waiting for someone to even glance my way. Someone eating dinner that I know noticed me, but no server. . Two groups of 4 to 6 people came in and were told the wait was at least 25 minutes. At that point I was pretty much hidden from any server to see me, except for the owner who was the host. I did say hello to him when I arrived but somehow I went invisible after that. In conclusion; if this area, against the west wall is intended as a waiting area then they should not have tables, because one would assume that two sets of tables with two nice chairs would be a place to enjoy a nice meal. If they are truly intended as a dining area, where one can eat a quiet meal alone and not at the bar then please assign a server to those tables during each shift. I sat there for at least 24 minutes without even a glance from and employee after I acquired the menu. I left.
