I was in Carmel for a conference with my husband, and found Le Spa online while looking for an alternative to the overpriced hotel spa. I called and made an appointment for a half hour later, and they were nice enough to accommodate me. When I arrived, they asked about where I had pain /tension, etc. and we decided to go with ½ hour reflexology and ½ hour deep tissue massage for my back. Noël, my massage therapist, was great. On the deep tissue massage, she totally knew what she was doing and was very sensitive to my sore spots. With the reflexology, she was good, but not the best I’ve ever experienced. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place. I came out of the spa feeling a lot better.

I’m a spa girl, I love my spa treatments. Le Spa has been around for quite some time now. I have only had massage and facials there but have been completely satisfied every time. I usually have the Matis facial, it’s a French line they carry and it’s very good. I love the calming feeling I get as soon as I enter Le Spa. I can’t wait to go back.

First, know I didn’t even get to go to the spa. We canceled. And here’s why. My friend and I drove out to Carmel-by-the-sea for a weekend get away. We scheduled our massages in advance and were set for a late afternoon spa. We were called an hour before our appointment asking us to rebook for later the next day, around 1pm. This would require us to stay much later than we had planned and we would still have a long drive home afterwards. The masseuse had cut her finger. The owner couldn’t find a replacement and therefore asked us to reschedule. We were open to this at first, even though it meant we were going to be inconvenienced by having to leave much later than we had planned. But when we asked for some sort of compensation(like taking 10% off the price would have been nice) the owner said she couldn’t. She didn’t have the power to. We trying to reason with her, explaining that it was inconvenient for us to have to stay later, to have to wait almost 24 hours for the massages we had scheduled with her. She wouldn’t bend. So we canceled. We were lucky enough to find another local spa that had an opening and went there. In the end, I think it was for the best. The other place we went to was very customer friendly. So I have to say Le Spa failed my personal litmus test of customer service.
