I had a different experience than Betsy in too-cute Curiosities. I noticed right away that this shop was the sister to College Avenue’s Haus – the stores share a co-owner, so you’ll find the same decorative cages with stuffed, comical birds and other similar whimsies here. I want to say that this store is slightly less expensive, but maybe I caught them at end-of-season sale time. The store has plenty of cute clothing, and lots on sale. I got a pair of wide-leg, three-quarter-length jeans for less than I’d have paid anywhere else. I mean, they had the boutique look. As for the customer service, the one shopgirl did spend my first few minutes on the phone and oblivious to me. But I sort of prefer it that way in this small of a space. She helped me out when it came time to try on. Another bonus to this store – adorable takeout bags.

I was inclined to give this cute little shop two stars but decided not to due to the horrible customer service I experienced here… okay, I didn’t even get enough service to consider it horrible! No greeting, no goodbye or thanks — those are the three«MUSTS» for anybody in business, I don’t care how busy you are chatting with your friend, another customer or a co-worker. Despite the fact that I spent most of my perusal time with a $ 90 dollar pair of pants draped over my arm, not a peep from the staff. I’ve had these exact pants before and didn’t even need to try them on, it was a total«slam dunk» sale, but we didn’t even get eye contact from the two women behind the cash wrap so I put them down and walked out. Now, before I left I also considered several of the shops soft as down, relaxed-fit chunky sweaters, a few fine-gauge tops and a pair of «We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto!» sexy red leather Mary Janes. Hello??? Is anybody working here? Do you not see me wanting to give you money? I was so disappointed. Hubby said I should go ahead and buy the pants since my old pair are nearly threadbare, but I could not bring myself to beg to be helped… nothing in this store is THAT special. My experience at this shop left me asking why it seems that these little boutiques always appear to size up potential customers based on how they look or what they’re already wearing when they walk in. In other words, «If you’re not one of the „beautiful people“ you probably don’t have squat to spend in here and we’re going to ignore you!» What a grave mistake.
