A lovely park where you can relax between shopping sprints down Carmel’s main street. Its amazingly secluded, calm, peaceful as well as being very convenient. The benches face in toward the park so the view is of the greenery, which I find very relaxing. The areas immediately around the benches can be a bit muddy so it would be nice to extend the sidewalk a few inches(keep in mind that we are shopping and not camping so our footwear is not intended for walking on mud), fix that and I’d consider bumping my rating to five stars.

This is a really cute park in the heart of Carmel, which is why it makes absolutely no sense to me why they don’t allow dogs. Really? Is this not supposed to be the most dog friendly town on earth?

Devendorf is waiting for you if you need a moment to escape from the shopping and touristy mayhem. Quiet and green, with enough shadows and shade to let you hide from the world for a while. Have your camera handy, this park loves to show its beauty to you around every corner!

I walked up the street in the morning and sat on the benches. It is full of peace here. Good place to pray and meditate. Over in the NE corner of the park is a wonderful large wood statue of Padre Who-nip-ehr-oh Serra… just a ways over is also a bust of Devendorf, who helped to build the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Nice park. The doggies love it here too, there were so many…

Pleasant, quiet, clean and friendly park at the ‘top of town’. Very green, almost pastoral, fun to sit and eat lunch(grab a sandwich at Bruno’s mart across the street), throw a frisbee(probably illegal in Carmel, but fun) or just take a nap. The city has quite a few events all year long planned in the park. Whenever you stop down, check the Pinecone(online or paper) and they will outline the schedule of events. Public restrooms and plenty of parking(except holiday weekends) nearby.

Lovely park to take the kids to. Tons of birds, flowers and it seems like the landscaping is just amazing.

After stopping by the market next to this park, I ate my sandwich with my wife while watching a family of 3 do Tai Chi. It was a relaxing park that has public restrooms, benches, a lot of lawn, and enough sunlight(weather permitting!). It’s a great place to have a picnic.

This is one of my favorite«city» parks that I can think of. «City» meaning more so that it’s an incorporated town. Devendorf Park sits directly across from Bruno’s Market, and the expensive galleries in Ocean Avenue. If you want to have a good and cheap dining experience in Carmel, bring your sandwich to the park! That’s what our family does very often. Devendorf Park gets busy sometimes, especially if it’s a warm day. There’s plenty of benches to sit down, and have your noontime chow. The pigeons or gully birds will often want to come and share a piece with you. The grass is always lush and green, even though it probably costs a fortune to water it. Hey, you know Cal-Am doesn’t give anyone a break! Plenty of trees and there are restrooms nearby if your soda goes through fast. Devendorf Park is always a good experience for me!
