Gymboree Play & Music

I had my daughter’s birthday party here about two years ago. She had a fun time. However, I have now been added to an email list and cannot unsubscribe. I have requested to be unsubscribed more than 10 times, and they refuse to take me off the email distribution list. I will never go to Gymboree again.

I bought a groupon for their 1 month class so my son can check it out. I like the weekly class for my son’s age. I think the only drawback will be the price for a once a week class and the limited time for the open play. It’s only Mondays — Wednesdays from 3:30 — 5:30.

I went to this Gymboree group a couple of times when Max was just 6 and 8 weeks old. I really enjoyed the 0 – 6 month class. We sang songs, did tummy time with the babies on a mirror so we could see them and played the parachute game. I really enjoyed that there was an activity to keep the class moving and the teacher was a good leader. There were twins in my class and the teacher took over one of them so the mom could be one-​on-​one with one child while the teacher assisted with the other. It was really nice that she allowed all the children to have that interaction. At the end of the class, they always turn down the lights and allow us to rock our babies and after 45 minutes, they are CERTAINLY pooped!
Max fell asleep at the classes we went to before it was even over. He was soooo exhausted he slept the rest of the afternoon! I call that a good day! :)
I did sign up to join, which is normally $ 30 for a lifetime membership and $ 65 a month (a little pricey considering other children’s programs out there), but I only had to pay $ 5 b/​c they were running a special. I am currently not doing the month-​to-​month, as my schedule doesn’t allow me to go anymore, but I can always call and renew my monthly membership and sign up for classes anytime now that I am a lifetime member.
The Carmel location staff is very nice and did not pressure me to sign up. I really liked it and wish I could go more often. I think it’s great for meeting other moms with children the same age and establishing friendships with other kids for your kids. Hopefully in the future, i’ll be able to take better advantage when classes are more flexible.
