Dr. Lee M. Goldman is the perfect Gentleman Country Doctor. He was my family’s general doctor for years and was always loved by all of us. Always concerned about the patient and always followed up and followed us through any problem. Then one day the biggie came. I went to see Dr. Goldman for a check-up and he asked how my husband was. I said well as a matter of fact he’s been falling down alot. Right away Dr. Goldman said, I am going on vacation but I want your husband to be here tomorrow, I will clear my schedule. My husband was so angry that I had mentioned this to Dr. Goldman as he felt that his balance was just off and I shouldn’t have bothered Dr. Goldman with it. So, he went to see Dr. Goldman and the testing began. They were at my house to see if there was anything toxic that could cause this. Dr. Goldman sent him to several other doctors and then to California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco where there is a certain machine that he wanted Ed to be tested out on… the only one in Northern California. Within a 2 week period Ed was diagnosed wth ALS(Lou Gehrigs disease). That was an amazing feat I now know because after becoming involved in the ALS community, the diagnois could take years find. Ed progressed pretty fast. When ever I had a problem with Ed, I could call Dr. Goldman day or night and he would help me. Even on his way home after work, he would stop at the house to see how Ed was doing or to give me recommendations on a certain piece of equipment Ed might need since one you lost any part of your body movement, you are always looking for a piece of equipment to help replace that loss of movemet. When Ed signed up for a Clinical Trial with California Pacific Medical Center, I unfortunately could not give shots so Dr. Goldmans Nurse Connie, came during her lunch hour to give him those shots. Ed last for 1 year and Dr. Goldman was there every step of the way. I had no one and he was my someone… and I would have to say that not many doctors would have gone out of their way even once to do what Dr. Goldman did. Dr. Goldman was with me till the very end at Hospice. I still go to Dr. Goldman and love his staff… but I also know that when your life is on the line, Dr. Goldman is laying there right with you to save you. Dr, Goldman is a Pillar of the community and does many things out of the goodness of his heart for the residents of Monterey Peninsula… And we appreciate it. I would give him 100 stars if I could. I will never be able to re-pay Dr. Goldman for his kindness and patience during one of the most difficult times in my life. Thank you Dr. Goldman, forever!
