Alright, I can’t attest to anything at their location… But I can say a lot about their food. They brought subs into work for us and I was really excited to try this place. Because let’s be honest, there’s no better way to experience new restaurants than free food at work! Let me explain a recent phase I’m going through: Buffalo sauce, buffalo sauce, and more buffalo sauce. I don’t know when this began, but I can’t get enough of buffalo sauce. And I’m not a fan of spicy things, but give me buffalo sauce on just about anything and I’ll be a happy girl. So when I discovered that one of the sandwiches they brought in was their Buffalo Chicken Philly, I pretty much became overwhelmed with joy. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration. I was just really excited. And it did not disappoint. The flavor was delicious, with just the right amount of heat balanced by the bread it’s served on. So I’m a fan of Lenny’s, and I’ll be visiting the actually locations soon to get the full Lenny’s experience.

I headed to this place after not being able to find a parking spot in Broad Ripple for another place I wanted to try. Mind you, eight years in Philadelphia made me cautious about trying hoagies/subs or cheese steaks outside of the area. I’ve had a few Italian subs that aren’t bad – like Quizno’s – but cheese steaks generally don’t work 600 miles from Philly. I found the place around the back of 116th Street, west of Keystone Ave. There is plenty of handicap parking close to the door, and I didn’t really see it until I moved some slush by driving over it. They have a lot of options. Subs come in three sizes and cheese steaks(including chicken cheese steaks) come in two sizes. I ordered a regular cheese steak and a drink, for under $ 10. I think it was $ 6.75, which isn’t bad, if the sandwich is good. The odd thing here is that I had to specify to change the cheese. In Philadelphia, you can get mozzarella, provolone, or cheese whiz(yuck!). Here, the default choice was swiss. SWISS? That’s like people putting green peppers on cheese steaks. It doesn’t happen for me! :-D The person who delivered my sandwich said«cheese steak, no cheese» and I said«no, that should have provolone.» So, in a few minutes, he returned with it, saying that it was very hot. I assume a microwave oven was used. I don’t remember ever seeing cheese on the top of the sandwich in Philly. Anyway, the bread was way too soft(Amoroso rolls, please!) but the meat was good. The cheese tasted a bit funny, but that’s cheese in the midwest. It’s different from what you get in Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York City. To each his own. :-) He asked about it later, and I said«It’s okay.» Later, he asked if there was something that they could have done differently. We had a discussion about cheese steaks. It was good that they were receptive. Everyone else was really pleased. All I can say is that I was not unhappy. It wasn’t what I’d hoped, but not as bad as I could have imagined, either. It’s a lot to write about a cheese steak, but taste means a lot to me. The staff was friendly at all times, which is great.

worst customer service. skimpy sandwich with barely any meat on it that tasted like rubber. owner argues with you instead of taking care of the problem. so not worth the hassle. many good sandwich shops out there so avoid these clowns!

Great subs… best in the area… I particularly enjoy the roast beef. Tons of meat and great bread for about a dollar more than the«chain» endorsed by the over paid/over hyped pro athletes. It can get busy around lunch time as any place serving this quality of a sandwich should. I don’t particularly care for it but my co workers rave about the spicy relish. I like Jimmy John’s but I love Lennys!

I really wanted to love this place but I’ve been here several times now and it just doesn’t impress. The hot pepper relish is excellent but everything else is just meh. Lenny’s meat, cheese and veggies are better quality than Subway but there is too much bread and too few ingredients. The bread is available in white or wheat but neither is special. Both are rather bland and tasteless. The hours are short here, they close at 5:00 pm. I came here two different days when there was a sign on the door saying«Closed — out of bread.» The service isn’t especially friendly, not un-friendly either but just meh. This is a convenient location for me but I just drive past Lenny’s and on to Penn Station.

If you like hot/spicy things the hot pepper relish is a must. Lennys is in the middle of quiznos & subway, but a step down from Penn station. The meat is cooked to order, however the bread is not toasted. They have basic white & wheat buns & Kaiser rolls that also come in white or wheat.

Pretty great subs. They taste nothing like subway, much more deli style in nature. Very fresh and they have more interesting ingredients than most sub places.

Lenny’s. I never really think of Lenny’s. Lenny seems a bit bland, and really, the food doesn’t have me crawling back. «More food, more taste, more personality» is Lenny’s motto. Honestly, I can’t say they offer *more food than any other similar place. It’s a regular sized sub– and it’s not exactly bulging with ingredients. The meat is freshly sliced, and that’s nice. I like fresh. The next step is a bit confusing. They give you a ticket to take a few feet to the counter. But then they ask you what you want on your sandwich, so you have to go back to that area(I’m a bit short, and I can’t see what they have anyway) to get your toppings put on. My Italian sub was pretty tasty. I think the flavor was in the sauce. I noticed they do make their own chips. I didn’t get any chips, though. I’ve been here a few times, and I can’t recall what sandwiches I tried, let alone what I thought about them, so I can’t say much about the taste experience being all that memorable. More personality? The two guys behind the counter were pretty quiet, reserved and mumbled. The actual product personality? Nothing I’ve never seen before. Jimmy Johns makes their own chips and tastes incredibly fresh– And they’re faster. But it’s easy to get used to that same JJ Taste. Penn Station has the slabs of meat and cheese at the counter, too. They do also have one of those lemonade fountains, too. I can’t say it’s as good as Penn Stations, but it’s pretty tasty. Really, Lenny’s was alright– Pretty alright. A-Ok, I’d say. I just don’t think it’s anything new or special. If you’re looking for a good olé fresh sandwich, this is your joint.

So, this is a chain sub shop, but don’t make the mistake of comparing it to Subway and the like. For $ 6.50, you’re getting a sandwich with much more meat than a Subway footlong, with much MUCH higher quality ingredients. There was a good variety of sandwiches to choose from, the meat is freshly sliced, and the veggies were all fresh. I especially liked their signature spicy pepper relish. It has a solid kick to it without being overwhelming, and a delicious flavor. I liked my sandwich a ton and I would recommend it to anyone who likes East Coast style cold subs.
