Neat shop in the Arts and Design District of Carmel. If you like Silver in the City on Mass Ave in Indy, you will love Rogue. Many of the items are hand-made — they range from small trinkets such as magnets to large furniture pieces. Sadly, I can’t afford the furniture but artwork in the $ 100-$ 200 range is totally up my alley. Go for lots of: — locally-made items — modern pieces — stainless steel decorations — Indy/Carmel paraphernalia — and more! Support your local businesses!

I am a big fan of Rogue Décor. I’m not really one for shopping but whenever I’m in the area I’ll stop by to see what they have. The store is a lot like Tom Nook’s(reference will be lost on most) in that the merchandise has a very high turnover rate. The shop used to be located in Fountain Square but it recently moved to the north side of Indy. The owner, Adam, is the Dr. Frankenstein of furniture. He creates all kinds of interesting pieces by taking old odds and ends and restructuring them into unique functional art(I’ve seen tables built of scrap metal, table tops made from old bowling alley lanes, suitcases turned into shelves, claw-foot tub legs used on an apothecary drawer unit, etc). All of the furniture is for sale, but he also uses it to stage his other wares. He has a lot of knick knacks that you wouldn’t find anywhere else and a lot of interesting art work(currently he has these really neat glass vases that are melted over drift wood that serves as their base). I’ve done a lot of gift shopping here. So far I haven’t made any large furniture purchases, but I’ll be working with Adam shortly to design a custom sideboard(did I mention he’ll make custom furniture for you?). All of the prices are very reasonable considering what you’re getting and all of the employees are very friendly and helpful. If you find yourself near the store, or need to find an interesting gift you should definitely stop by.
