Tommy Bahama

My usual experience with Tommy Bahama is seeing their merchandise in other stores. My husband is a huge fan of their shirts (not the loud Hawaiian style which can be over the top), sweaters, shorts and trousers. Their women’s clothing is also quite nice — high quality with a relaxed beach style. We were both excited to check out this store.
At first impression the store appears somewhat small, but when you have an opportunity to start browsing, it’s pretty amazing how much product they are able to display all without feeling cramped. The prices are high, but you can find items on sale. You get what you pay for when it comes to clothing and Tommy Bahama clothing lasts.
The sales staff is attentive without being pushy. In fact they were quite helpful when I was searching for a last minute Christmas gift for my husband. I usually get a coupon in the mail just before the holidays so that takes a bit of the sting out of shopping full price. All in all, this is a great addition to Carmel Plaza and I will stop in again.

Great selection and low key service — but the guy who helped us really knew the merchandise and was great about helping my husband with sizing. Two thumbs up.

Some things can get expensive but the socks are to die for.

This location is pretty small compared to other Tommy Bahama stores that I’ve been to, so I am amazed that they’re able to have so much merchandise in there without the space feeling cluttered. Someone has done a beautiful job organizing this shop. The two gentlemen working were very helpful, professional, kind, etc. They established a very friendly rapport with us without being unprofessional. Quality products cannot stand alone without quality customer service. Other shops should take cues from this one.
Being a person obsessed with all things that smell good, I made a beeline first for ladies’ fragrances then on to home fragrances. Their fragrances are delicious. If you like them, right now they have a 3 roller set that’s absolutely worth the money for what you’re getting. People always think rollers look small, but you cannot forget that when it comes to higher-​quality fragrances, a little goes a very long way, Plus they’re great to shove in your purse or makeup bag for a quick freshening up when you’re on the go. This would be an excellent gift for the holidays and I’m sure they’ll have plenty of holiday sales soon enough.
The home fragrance options are great too. Of course, with my basset-​hound-​like nose, I sniff out this little basket resting on the floor in an inconspicuous spot. What is this? A basket of brand new home fragrances candles just released and dropped off literally hours ago by a district manager? Yay! I went for Sangria Sunset, Tropic Seas, Island Breeze, and Coastal Cruiser. My favorite is Coastal Cruiser. You HAVE to go smell this while you can.

If I was just rating Tommy Bahama the product — I would give it 4 stars because of the price. BUT, shopping in the Carmel Tommy Bahama is such a treat because of the very helpful and friendly staff. I buy for my husband and sons in this Carmel store, and I can never remember which size I purchase for which person (Tommy clothes tend to run a bit large). These folks always look up my past purchases for me, and then help me find the suitable size and color match, etc. They always go the «extra mile» which keeps me coming back!

only the second Tommy Bahama I’ve been inside over the years. Love the merchandise quality, don’t always love the big, bold designs on their products.
i went in looking for a specific shirt I saw on a gentleman who was my customer at a competitor of Tommy Bahama. The guys working were playful and professional as they recognized i work for a competitor. But my store has a very limited selection of TB shirts… since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I went to see if they could order the shirt for my bf.
sadly, it is an older style that can no longer be ordered. But the guys were good enough to check in the back and in the system to see if it was still possible. I appreciated their checking when they probably knew full well it would not be findable!
the store is very well-​organized and looked very neat and tidy.
i just wish i had seen someone wearing that shirt earlier so i woulda known to start searching earlier! foiled by father time again! doh!

An unexpected and equally pleasant surprise receiving two t-​shirts as a gift from my wife. She stopped in to browse and bought them for me out of the blue. Thanks babe! Very high marks for the outstanding service from the two gentlement in the store — think Nordstrom service!
I don’t live on a Tommy Bahama budget, but I love their printed tees. Sometimes you have to dress age-​appropriate and T.B. definitely defines kick up your feet and relax! I guess I’ve grown out of the Quiksilver & Volcom surf shirt designs and no way will I be caught in Affliction or Ed Hardy — I’m not a member of the J. Gosselin d-​bag club.

This Tommy Bahama is my husband’s favorite and I would have to agree.
We came to this Tommy Bahama to purchase all of his clothing for our oceanside wedding in Maui.
He’s not the type that was used to have people waiting on him hand and foot, but he got used to it really quick. We were able to to tell them our color scheme and they outfitted him from head to toe for his wedding attire. It was a beautiful outfit and we got a TON of compliments on it.
He refuses to shop at any other Tommy Bahama now!

I don’t really shop at Tommy Bahama it was nice to see one in Carmel Plaza. The attire they sell goes well with those who live the Carmel lifestyle.
