Hubby and I stopped in late last night for a quick dinner. We didn’t want a ton of food or to have to wait super long, this was the perfect place! Very few people there, but two smiling and helpful ladies at the counter. It’s awesome you can sample the soups, with so many choices it’s super helpful. I ended up with the lobster bisque(YUM!) and hubby had the chicken pot pie(with actual pie crust… what?!) which he loved. I also had half a chicken toscana sandwich, it was delicious. My husband had a chicken Caesar salad as well, which was huge. For $ 21, we actually ended up with quite a bit of food. Very tasty, fast and easy. We will definitely be back!

My star rating hasn’t changed, but since I’ve been coming here pretty frequently for years now(and I would check in on Unilocal more, but usually I’m in and out with takeaway in a few minutes), I thought I’d update my review with more info. This is my favorite lunch place in the area for two reasons: the speed(I don’t have a long lunch break, and I can usually place my order and be out of there with some soup in about 5 minutes) and the consistency(I know my favorite menu items will almost always be delicious and the same each time). So I come here on average once a week, but sometimes several days in a row depending on my mood and the soup menu each day. It’s not perfect, but I’ve only once had an incorrect order that I can recall, and that was when I was also picking something up for a coworker: they put in two cups of the same soup by mistake. Another time, they forgot my bread, which was a sad day. But considering how much I go there, I suppose this is bound to happen occasionally. I’ve tried most of their veggie soups at some point, but some soups are definitely more tasty than others, and of course there’s personal preference too. I tend to love the heavier, less healthy ones the most, and they’re the most filling and comforting for just a cup for lunch. I also love that they change each day so you get a variety. My very favorites are: — Vegetarian Split Pea(because most split pea has pork, so this is awesome and yummy) — Potato Cheddar — Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque — Broccoli Cheddar — Mac n Cheese — Mushroom Bisque My favorite sandwich is the MTB: Mozzerella, Tomato, and Basil. So tasty. So sometimes I’ll get that instead of soup, or I’ll get a Take 2 Combo with a small side of soup if I’m extra hungry. I don’t get the salads very much, but if I’m in the mood for something cooler I have a few times, my favorite being the American Farm salad. The big cookies and veggie chips are also very tasty, sometimes I’ll get one of those with my soup. I’m really wild and all over the place. I’ve also found that while I usually like multigrain bread outside of Zoup, I’m not a fan of theirs — it’s just too hard and grainy. I love their sourdough bread, but sometimes switch it up with French. It’s really hit or miss whether they’ve just toasted the bread, or it may have been sitting in the basket for a while and gotten colder and stiffer. It’s much better freshly made, of course, but I tend to soak the bread in the soup anyway. My previous thoughts on sampling soup still stand. Maybe my tongue is extra sensitive, but I would have to stand there awkwardly for at least a full two minutes for the soup to cool down enough to not burn myself. So, after my first tongue-burning visit, I have a firm No Sampling rule — if I try a new soup, I really commit and get a Side of it(the smallest cup size). It’s not usually bad enough that I wouldn’t finish the whole thing, I just may not get it again. For those of you with super tough, calloused tongues, or tolerance for awkward waits, feel free to go crazy with the samples. Finally, I occasionally will come with coworkers and dine in. The restaurant has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere with plenty of seating space, both inside and out, so if I have time I like to stay. Zoup isn’t mindblowing or perfect, but it’s all-around consistent, fast, and I am definitely a fan.

The chicken pot pie soup is delicious, but whoa nelly is it salty. I drank two glasses of water right after eating it. We also got the lobster bisque, and it was OK. I’d like to try other soups from the menu because there are so many to choose from.

Tried this place yesterday and I got to say it was better than I thought it was going to be. The only problem, my stomach couldn’t hold any more food. It’s definitely going to get my repeat business!

Great soup. Had both chicken tortilla and stuffed pepper. Caesar salad was really dry and bland, as well was the turkey sandwich my lady ordered. Will be back but only for Soup

To be honest I’ve only tried their lobster bisque of soups– I love it so much, I don’t want anything else! I do love their sandwich and salad options. I get a half sandwich or salad with my lobster bisque. Their caprese panini and Caesar salad(I get without chicken) have both been delicious. During the summer(since hot soup is less popular) they have punch cards to buy so many and get a free try two combo. They do still have yummy sandwiches and salads besides soup still as summer options, and I believe a chilled soup option daily during summer(which doesn’t appeal to me but hey I love hot soup anytime!). Dine in or get lunch and dinner to go, I’m set!

Who doesn’t love soup! I love fall and soup is the perfect meal for a nice cool day! Now the day we went it was still almost 80 outside, but I can dream about fall and cooler temps. That little strip mall gets busy at lunch time, but we got a nice spot out front. From the minute we waked in I really felt like we were in good hands. It sounds corny, but the staff behind the counter went above and beyond helping us find the perfect soup! They had at least 10 different kinds and all sounded delicious. The hardest part was narrowing it down, but wait, what, you get to sample the soups! I am pretty sure our last visit I tried almost all the soups. I forget what I ended up with, but this time I tried 2 and knew right away they were my top choices. I didn’t want to try more and make it a harder decision. The shrimp asparagus with dill was really tasty and full of flavor. It had just the right amount of dill in it. The mushroom bisque though was amazing. It was like my dream soup. I love mushrooms and have never ever had such a great tasting mushroom soup. It wasn’t too think or too think and not too hot in heat. It was perfect. I went with the sourdough bread too. I also now have a soup punch card and Mondays I guess you get double points. I can’t wait to go back on a real crisp fall day or even a cold winter one. They also had sandwiches and I think salads, but I came for soup! You could do a combo though. And I really mean the lady who waited on us was great! It’s too bad I didn’t take her name, because she was super nice.

Service is almost always exceptional. Soup is usually good — really depends on when you order compared to when it was prepared. Sight test is enough to make a good decision. They offer a rotation of soups with about 10 – 12 available each day. They also offer samples which is cool. Salads are prepared to order and have never disappointed. Bread is fresh, desserts are good(according to my kids). Overall a solid performer. Nothing extraordinary but also doesn’t usually disappoint.

They have soup, sandwiches and salads… plus a cookie too. They have a great soup selection and they have provide tastings too so you won’t regret it before you start downing that chowder. You can mix and match pretty much anything. The location is pretty interesting since it’s right next door to another sandwich shop and bunch of fat food like places. It’s perfect for the corporate slaves getting an hour break at 12, so they can quickly eat and conquer the world again by 1PM.

I’m into this place. The soup is overall very tasty, although the chicken pot pie soup is overly creamy and kind of bland… Much like real chicken pot pie. Sorry, not a pot pie fan, you Midwest-food lovers. Lots of veg options, and the salads are good too.

Had lunch here the other day. I wanted soup but also wanted something substantial so I ordered soup in a sour dough bowl. I’ve never had a bad soup here and the chicken pot pie soup did not disappoint. But the real pleasure was the sour dough bowl. Delicious by itself with all the flavors of good, fresh sour dough bread. Wow! Can’t beat this for the price.

Clean, quick and friendly. Love that they let you sample the zoups before you order. Kinda a weird queue system — you don’t have to go past all the zoups to order, only if you wanna sample. I had the Chicken Toscana half sammy and Italian pasta and vegetable soup. Yum.

I had high expectations coming in. but out of a possible 40 soups they only had less than 10 out .and they were odd soups. no potato! My daughter got broccoli cheddar which tasted plastic and pre-made.I got fire roasted tomato which had an odd taste to it. We ordered a grilled cheese and they put three slices of cheese in between French bread and sent it through the toaster quickly. the middle was cold and not melted. Very disappointed and probably won be back =(

Didn’t realize it was a chain. Just OK, not quite«home made» like I was hoping for. Decent for lunch but you could do better(if you have time) at home.

Stopped by the Zoup! on Carmel Drive the other day when I was out running early afternoon errands. My very first impression was that this place wasn’t quite the lunchtime madhouse that its neighbors usually are. I was waited on immediately upon walking up to the counter and asked if I’d ever been there before. When I replied«no», I was given a detailed rundown of the various soups available. Kind of a standard spiel that such establishments offer to make first time visitors feel«special», but it was pleasant enough… I ordered a half club sandwich and a cup of crab bisque to go. All of their soup orders come with your choice of bread… I chose multigrain. The soup was awesome… it alone made me want to try some of their other offerings soon. The sandwich was tasty but I wished I’d gone ahead and just ordered a full rather than a half as what I had was rather small… The only other note is that parking in the surrounding lot is very hit or miss during weekday lunch hour… you might have to park in the nearby Meijer lot and then hoof it as I did. Good place… definitely worth a try. I’ll be back.

Second and third visit much better than the«salt attack» of the first. The flavors of crab corn chowder and chicken with kale broke free and impressed both adults and kids. Fast — an easy stop to grab a couple of containers to bring home or office for lunch or eat in. However, on both subsequent visits French bread no longer had the impressive«krrg» freshness. Still good.

After driving by on a daily basis, I decided to give Zoup! a try. The restaurant was very clean-looking upon walking in. Initially, no one acknowledged my presence but within a couple of minutes I was offered a sample of soup. I ordered the«Try Two’(8.75) with a ‘side’ of Lobster Bisque and a half of a Chicken Toscana sandwich. The sandwich was good but not fantastic. The soup had an weird after-taste(which more than 60 minutes later I am STILL tasting). I have had better soup at similar places(Panera, McAlister’s). I am giving myself a 30% chance I will be returning to Zoup!

I usually always get the lobster bisque and I’m always impressed by that. It’s one of the soups they have every day and when I buy it, I get the Costco quantity. Their other soups, which mostly change daily, are all good but can leave you feeling«eh». Their crab meat corn chowder was very good, as is their lemon chicken soup. They close fairly early though, so be aware of that. The best thing Zoup has going for it is the ability to sample any and all(: Oh, and I’ve always been well taken care of; the staff is always pleasant.
