I have been attending the Wednesday morning Mindfulness Meditation classes for a year and a half. I found the Center on Meetup when I was looking for a mindfulness group/meeting in Sacramento. Lisa is supportive, kind, welcoming and, at times, funny. When I had surgery and couldn’t attend for several weeks, she even skyped me into class! Lisa is a wonderful instructor who shares that she has practiced meditation since her teens, and she studied mindfulness meditation with Jack Kornfield at Spirit Rock, among others. The Wednesday class I attend includes a check-in with everyone for introductions, and to see if there are any particular goals or needs. Lisa provides a mini-lesson, then a period of guided, then independent mindfulness meditation. Even though I have been practicing mindfulness for years, and have done coursework in instruction and briefly taught mindfulness for children, I find that this weekly group is a wonderful way to maintain and support my own practice. She is great with first-timers and experienced meditators alike. I often learn something new from her, and always leave refreshed. Just love this class!
