Hire more females, kind of a sausage fest rather than Oktoberfest. More for the twenty somethings than the fifty somethings. Cement floors, one room and was a pizza hut before this.

Went here to pick up some bottles which are a bit pricey and then once I got my six pack I went up to the register where a woman with a growler was also waiting. The staff never did show up after about 3 – 4 minutes so I just left. There was a guy who was pouring drinks behind the bar but he apparently didn’t work there since he saw us standing there but didn’t help us — not sure what was going on but will not be going back there.

This is the most indifferent bar I have ever seen. It isn’t hipster, it isn’t edgy; the attitude of the bar staff is that they don’t give a fuck about the customer. Can I see a list of draft beers? The bar tender throws a hockey puck in my general direction with the list of beers attached. Ten minutes later, he comes back to ask if I want a beer. Geniuses, they’re not. How many different wing flavors with a 24 pack? One. Really? That’s all? «Well, if you don’t like it, go somewhere else…» Best advice of the night. Douchebags…

I sat at the bar waiting for a beer for 25 – 30 mins and nobody ever took my order. This was the first time in here and it will be my last.

The service for take-out was exceptionally slow today. I dropped off my typed order at approx 11:05. The bartender reviewed my 7-meal order and told me that it would take about 30 minutes. There was nobody else in the building. I returned at 11:45, and my food wasn’t ready, now there was a decent lunch crowd and I could see that a few people had finished their meals. At 11:55 the bartender told me that they were hit with a bunch of large orders at once, and there was only one cook at the time. I finally left the restaurant with my food at about 12:10. The food is good, but the wait was ridiculous. I left my phone number to call with any questions, and it would have been simple courtesy to ring me up and let me know that it would take a bit longer than expected. This way, I wouldn’t have been waiting around in the restaurant for an additional 25 minutes.

So i just tried this place and i must say the food was excellent. I had honey siracha smoked wings which were juicy, flavorful, & crunchy. The mac n cheese was also a great choice, nice & cheesy. This place is surely on the top of my list by

This was once my favorite bar but over the years the prices have skyrocketed and the service has gotten really bad. Don’t be surprised if the local nut jobs act out and nothing is done about it. Last time I was there people knocked a tv off the wall three times and a couple people tried to start a bar brawl. My favorite bar has been ruined and I haven’t been back since.

So my review and score are based on several factors. I give high score for the tremendous beer selection. Not just the bottles but the huge draft list with all kinds of great beers. No junk here. Also give high scores for the food we had. Just burgers and chili. Not fancy by any means but decent. Chili wasn’t pretty but had a good spice that many places don’t have. Usually when I order a cup of chili it is bland and runny. This was very thick, to the point of almost looking dried out but not. Also had a nice amount of spice, no hot sauce needed. The burger was a thick patty, didn’t come out medium as each of us ordered but not bad. The fries were gross however and small serving. Now on to the staff. The young lady that served us and offered me some suggestions on draft was very nice. The young guy was not so nice. Acted as though we were a bother when he had to take our order. Couldn’t have been more apathetic if he tried. My review would have been much different if we had to deal with him more than than just ordering. He probably shouldn’t be dealing with the customers. I don’t know, perhaps he was having a bad day but still.

I like this place has a Great Wall off Beer and good selections. nice patio with seating and inside seating as well. 99 Bs has 20 – 25 taps that always vary. Although I didn’t eat the chix and waffles looked good.

Good beer selection and food was very tasty. I had chicken wings and the Van Cleef burger. The extra BBQ sauce I asked for made a big difference. Really set up as a neighborhood hang out. What it lacked in ambiance was made up for with the food and beer. Would give 3.5 stars if I could but rounded up for their benefit.

Everything about 99 Bottles is good. The food, beer selection, and wait staff are all top notch. Literally zero things about this place are bad. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

This was my first time here. We seated our selves. There were menus on the table so we expected a waitress to come around and take our order. After at least 20 minutes we realized you grab your own drink and go to the register to pay and place food orders. Other than that we were very pleased. The food was great and very cheap. They also have a wide selection of beers.

This is an ok’d Pizza Hurt turned into a bar and 6 pack shop. I went in not knowing what to expect. I looked over the menu and while it is a great menu, nothing was really calling to me. Then I heard they had wings. I found them on the back of the menu. When I read that their wings are smoked I knew I had to order some. I ordered BBQ, Buffalo, and Garlic Parm. They had several flavors to choose from including dry rubs. Of the 3 flavors the Garlic Parm was probably my least favorite because the garlic didn’t mix well with the smokiness of the wings. The BBQ and the Buffalo were outstanding the wings were hot, crispy, and smokey. They would have been delicious without the sauce. You can’t say that about 99% of the wings served at restaurants and bars. The Blue Cheese they give you to dip your wings in is homemade and finger licking good. My hubby was happy because they had 4 beers in the six pack shop that he had t tried before so he was excited to get a 6 pack to take home. Let’s be honest, the place looks dark and no frills but their wings are incredible and they have a nice beer selection. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Super casual bottle shop, that seems to be the spot to either pull up a chair and hang with friends, play some games or eat from their expansive menu, or pop in and grab a six pack to go. I just get the feeling this is a total local joint, which is fantastic. I popped in to get a six pack. I’m used to heading to Packs & Dogs up in Mt. Washington. I have to admit, it does seem like the selection at Packs seems to be a little wider, but I think it may have just been the fact that there were a ton of crowd pleasers in the fridge too. Crowd pleasers like wine coolers, buds, Penn, Yings, etc. While I did see craft brews, and picked up my fave Vanilla Java Porter, it just didn’t seem as wide and selective as I’m used to. I glanced at their menu quickly and it seemed like they had a lot to offer, plus I believe there was a whole walk in cooler for cases of beer I may have missed. It’s nice to have easy parking and a central location in Carnegie to stop off for a beer. I mean, convenience is key, especially while on the hunt for the perfect beer!

While on a recent visit back to the Burgh, my husband and I were looking for a place to grab a few beers. Being beer snobs, we were only interested in the craft variety. My Unilocal searching led me to 99 Bottles(Thanks fellow Unilocalers!!). We arrived at the former Pizza Hut outpost on a Thursday afternoon around 2 pm. There were a few folks at the bar and a few others seated at a table. We opted to sit at the high bar in front of all the beer fridges(mostly so we could drool over the selection). Given the different beers on draft, I was struggling with a decision. The lovely bartender was helpful and allowed me a sample or two before I decided on a pint. I’m a big fan of brown beers so I settled on a NOTL Stout by Full Pint. I followed that with a Black Chocolate Stout by Brooklyn Brewery and finally a B Craft Black DIPA by Aracadia. The draft selection and the bottle selection was most impressive. We purchased a few bottles to-go on the way out. We only drank so I can’t speak about the food. Overall I was extremely pleased with the selection and will certainly visit again on my next trip home.

One Friday night I did it, I decided to finally make the journey from the North Side of Pittsburgh, across rivers and bridges and through tunnels to visit the Carnegie area. Why was I so afraid to take this drive? It was only a 20 minute drive and 99 Bottles was my second stop. The amazing draft list drew me in. And I like the atmosphere. It has that dive bar feel but they have an awesome draft selection(highlights include several local and seasonal brews) along with some good food. I ordered the Hibernator, a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with mac n cheese and bacon then deep fried. It usually comes with fries but I opted for the side salad. For a side salad, I was impressed with the size and amount of veggies. It wasn’t a boring iceberg blend, this was a salad someone took pride in. And that sandwich was a delicious way to soak up some of that beer. I thought the draft prices were more than reasonable. Food prices were typical for bar food(I think my salad and sandwich came to around $ 10). I must confess I have not really explored the actual bottles but again, it looks like a great selection. Service has been outstanding. On my last visit, the bartender remembered what my friend had been drinking the last time she was there. Always a good sign. Did I mention they also fill growlers? If you’re interested, I’d check their website or give them a call because they have food and drink specials daily. I’ve admitted the error of my ways and vow to return to 99 Bottles again and again.

This place is pretty awesome. Everything from the 90s music to the food and beer selection. They have 30 rotating taps and probably well over 99 different bottles. So far everything I’ve had on the menu is pretty good too. I wasnt expecting much for the food after seeing the place but it was a pleasant surprise. Food is good and portion sizes are plenty! If this place was in Robinson, Bocktown would have some very serious competition! If you are in the area looking for something new, I highly advise giving 99 bottles a try!

I’ve watched 99 Bottles go from just having beer(and attracting lots of local light beer drinkers) to having a great chef and food menu. Highlights include the«Stoney hoagie», tacos, McDowell burger(ala«Coming to America» no sesame seeds on the bun). The staff is very friendly and have plenty of beer knowledge. The only downside is their«to-go» beer pricing. You’ll pay the per bottle price for your six pack. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
