I have to admit, leona’s ice cream is the reason we went, but I’m glad we did. As part of the recent resurgence of Main Street Carnegie, this store is bringing a cool vibe to the area. The store sells vintage toys and games in a building that is perfectly suited for this type of store. In the same building, is a great penny candy counter and delicious Ice cream counter. The ice cream is from Pittsburgh ice cream which is in the public market in the strip and the flavors are rotated on a weekly basis. We tried the salted Carmel goat, which of course, was made from goats milk. It was creamy and salty-sweet with a great sour cream type flavor. But of course, we had to pick up six Leno’s ice cream sandwiches!!! Which is also rotated on a regular basis and as always the best ice cream in the city! This place is a great store to find a unique toy or gift in time for Xmas. The owners are very cool and knowledgable and know their vintage games and toys.

Welcome to the world of vintage toys just in time for the holidays! Many are at reasonable prices too. It was wonderful to look at toys that were not cheaply built They had wind up toys, books, vintage cameras and other used items for sale. What intrigued me was seeing some of the games I haven’t played since I was a child. Anyone remember«Uncle Wiggly» or «Snakes and ladders.» The latter was a variation of the popular game chutes and ladders. One cannot forget the original Lincoln logs! They also had a section devoted to super hero toys. I met the owner, whose name is Melanie and her mother Kathy. In the next room the sell organic ice cream or if you prefer ice cream sandwiches. They had a different array of flavors so I settled for a scoop of blackberry sage. You can also get it in a waffle cone and there is a small parlor where you can relax and eat it. Oh yes they give you«samplings» on those old style wooden scoops. Behind the ice cream are various candy for sale I did ask Melanie about special items and she could order them in but you will need to pay for them accordingly. The only thing I didn’t see too many of were dolls. This is a very charming shop and a great place to get toys for your kids that are of better quality than what they make today.

Great place for desert after Bakn. Ice cream is delicious and organic. FS has Leona’s ice cream sandwiches too. You can get a mini cone that is perfect for little kids or adults that are full. The shop and the vintage and unique toys is great. The shop owner is so nice and spent time showing us some of the toys.

I love everything about this shop. The store is so unique and so are the ice cream flavors. I love the different options and that menu changes often. I’m even happier that they have a baby cone which gives me a little taste without the guilt.

I cannot get enough ice cream from this place, it’s so good. Although my waistline does not approve. The owner and her staff are always personable. I will definitely keep coming back for more.
