I had American Elk grips fitted to an EAA Bounty Hunter .45 Colt, and a Ruger Old Army .45. cap & ball revolver. Extremely pleased with the result. They will work with you as to amount of «bark» showing, size of your hand, etc. Definitely worth the extra cost of sending them the guns so they can custom fit the grips. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I’ve purchased four sets of Elk grips for various handguns from Eagle grips, and have been extremely happy with all of them. I live within fifty miles of their store, so took my frames in to have the grips fit to them, I found the staff to be extremely helpful. They took the time to show me various grips with differing degrees of «bark» so that I could visualize how each would look on my guns. They actually sort through their stock to find antler with the degree of bark and density requested, and each set of grips that I received was uniquely beautiful — no two were the same but all were stunning. Needless to say my experience was exactly the opposite of that portrayed by Sydney. The folks at Eagle are gentlemen and craftsmen — however, they are not stupid and I don’t doubt that they refused to send replacement grips before receiving the others back — would you?

Took my S&W 686 and they made a set of rosewood grips that gave the gun a classic look. The salesperson that assisted me took the time to explain and show me the different choices. Could not be more satisfied and anyone that sees them compliments them.

This review is for the Eagle Grips level of customer service experience I have had recently. The grips quality of feel and finish are just OK comparing to my the Ahrends and Collins Craft grips I own. Place an online order for the Heritage Grips for my Smith & Wesson N-frame 629. Customer service shot me an email asking if I want to have the S&W medallions installed for additional $ 35. A tad pricey but what the hay? Gave them the go ahead. Waited for about 2 weeks for the grips to arrived and that was when disappointment set in. What do you know? A plain grips were sent. Peachy. Fired back an email to customer service and asked for a swap. No problem, ‘customer service’ said, you just need to send the original grips back — of course on my expense. I kindly asked Eagle Grips to go ahead and ship me a replacement one with the medallions installed and in the mean time, I’ll ship the plain grips back. Customer service’s reply: ‘No, you need to ship the old ones back to us first.‘ Peachy plus. Thanks for the fine customer service support, fellas. First you made a mistake with my original order(which I have in writing) and refused to ship me a replacement unit with the specs I ordered to rectify your mistake and I now have to go through the trouble of shipping the unit back and waited for God knows how long for it to be shipped back to me AND I still have to pay for the overpriced $ 35 fee? Sorry bandito, but you just lost your future sales and business. Folks, if you’re looking for quality of products and good customer service to dress up your companion piece, Eagle Grips is not a place for you. One star for saying sorry on your email, though.
