Pine Landscaping

A ‘MUST READ’ if you are considering Pine, and who runs/​owns the company. ALSO BE WEARY of many of the ‘5-​star reviews’ by customers who utilized Pine once or twice, and do not know the full-​scope of a situation:
*This is the same Pine Landscaping that also has offices out of Batavia — same ownership.
I debated about whether to write this review, but feel it is a must. For years, ‘Pine’ has done many of the weekly Friday landscaping duties around my development and home — so its safe to say for YEARS, I have seen their routines and the ownership in action many times. This review is NOT about an isolated incident, or «just a few incidents over the years.» This is CONSTANT.
This review is also NOT about the quality of work Pine’s employees do or the company’s prices, per se. Pine does everything from yard maintenance and landscaping to driveway and concrete/​stone work, amongst many other things. They could indeed do very good work… This though… isn’t about that.
The owner (there may be 2 – 3 «owners», but the primary owner I am speaking of is an Italian guy) is god-​awful RUDE AND ABUSIVE to his employees — right in front of neighbors and other people.
On literally dozens if not many more occasions, I and others have seen and heard the main owner continuously yell at, scream at, and defame his own employees using the utmost filthiest language I have ever heard. I do not just mean normal scolding or using a raised voice or yelling commands, either. He yells and screams the foulest language (of which I cannot even repeat here on Unilocal,or abbreviate using symbols… it’s that filthy) at employees as if they are completely useless and despicable human beings.
** Some of these occasions were so loud and obnoxious, we recorded the audio of these screaming sessions with our I-​phones. NO JOKE.
Nobody — not even the worst worker — deserves to be treated or talked to in this fashion. If somebody is a bad employee — fire them or let them go. Don’t demean or scream bloody murder at them. This has never been just about one rogue employee, either. This owner seems to treat many of his employees this way, and he has no bones about doing it in front of whoever.
On this note alone, I think anybody should think twice about giving your business to Pine. No matter how great their work might be — this is in NO WAY to run or operate a business and to demean and abuse employees… in plain public viewing to boot…
NOTE TO PINE: You seem to do quality work and have a great product. Simply tinker how you speak to or scold your employees, and all should be fine — good workers are hard to come by, and employees should be treated with respect. Again, if you have bad employees, fire them professionally.

Good, honest, local company. Pine Landscaping has been doing work for our association for years now, and the results are always great. Cosimo and Nancy are an absolute pleasure to work with. Very nice people. Highly recommended.

Pine Landscaping just finished installing a retaining wall in our back yard, and we were beyond thrilled with their service, professionalism, and the quality of their work. The owner, Cosimo, worked with me to make adjustments to the design in the middle of the project and offered suggestions to work with the natural grade of our yard. The entire team was friendly and accommodating and were wonderful to work with. I would absolutely hire them again next time we have hardscape work to be done in our yard, and highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for quality paver patios or retaining walls.
