Great atmosphere, friendly owners, tasty beverages. My kids like going here as well. A perfect place to hold a small event or meet up with your friends.

Had a great time at Good Hops! Was here with my friends for a bachelor party and we met the owners and were given a tour. The guy who did it was really chill and funny. Definitely recommend!

This place will make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave. Good Hops is a fairly new brewery that offers a unique beer selection along with wine! Good Hops Brewing wants everyone to have a great time while visiting, and I think that’s why the offer the wine! I am really excited about this because more often than not when I go to a brewery I am never blown away with the beer selections and I just wind up sipping on one beer the whole time. On the beer front, you are allowed to have as many tastes of the beers as you want before choosing your flight or pint. Of all the beers, go for the Sour. You need to try this one three times before you develop a strong opinion about it. Wine– this wine is not made in house. I am not too sure how they choose the wine they are serving up for flights, but they were wonderful! To incoraporate the wine back with the brewery they serve the flight on a pallet that looks like a hops leaf! There is a ton of seating options. Sit at the bar, make some new friends at a communal table, sit inside or even go outside at the picnic tables! Don’t forget your fury friends! This place is dog friendly, so be sure to bring your pet along for the ride. * Good Hops offers these awesome fire crakers that are homemade for a little snack, be sure to ask for them and to try them, too.

Good Hops is a newer brewery and taproom that has been open about a year in Carolina Beach. You turn off the main road and head through a residential street. Good Hops is at the end of the street and you can’t miss the big US flag and the mailbox that says Goods Hops. As you enter the taproom, two friendly dogs will come greet you. The dogs belong to the owners and this is a very kid and dog friendly place. We were there on a Sunday evening and there was a decent crowd and there were plenty of tables inside and outside. We sat at the bar and had a nice view of the taproom where the brewing was taking place. There were maybe 7 beers on tap and the bartender was extremely friendly and hospitable. Drafts were about $ 4 – 6 a glass. Everything was really clean and the beer tasted very good. You can also bring in your own food from takeout and I saw few couples doing that.

This is the best damn beer on the island. Bring your dog ride your bike here. We drank«Donnas Golden.» Service was friendly and prompt. Bring home a growler. Nice and cool inside. Good tunes. You can bring your own food or have something delivered. We keep coming back.

Only six beers available on tap during my visit. Nothing really stood out as something I’d fill a growler with. Nice that they are dog-friendly. Gentleman manning the bar and taps seemed a bit out of it and spaced-out. Might return once the selection increases.

Stopped in on a trip to Carolina Beach. Beer was decent prices good. They didn’t have a standard growler but would sale you a 32 oz mason jar for the standard price. Seemed to have a lot of activities going on during the week.

good beer. was a little bummed you had to go clear across the to buy something to eat. would be nice if it was closer to the cashier. You didn’t get a welcoming vibe though when you were there. Wasn’t a place I would spend a lot of time hanging out at.

So cool to have an actually brewery in Carolina beach. Apparently lots of restaurants are carrying their brown ale. I tried the flight and although I am a dark beer girl there was not one beer I disliked– it was a good deal at $ 8 and the hop shaped serving trays are adorable! They have plenty of outside seating and if you are a dog lover like me– friendly canines are welcome. It was fun to see the little four legged guys wrestling and Playing– so if you are uptight about dogs this may not be your place. Our bartender was sweet and she have us some good recommendations where to eat, what to do etc. But if you like good beer, a relaxed atmosphere, outdoor seating with a fire pit and tons of indoor tables with board games, cards, etc to play then you may have found your new hangout! They also do growler fills but I think they call them grumbles. Only downside– no food other that snacks/chips but you are welcome to bring a pizza, have food delivered or just bring your own subs whatever! Just plan ahead of you are a drunk eater like me!!!

Very eclectic brew pub, great value and a friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed the tour, it’s amazing how quickly they have progressed in just a year. Best of all are the beers, very good quality, a modest selection because the high demand for their beers. A must visit for any beer lover, take your Budweiser friends they have a beer for them at only $ 3 a pint!!! Take your family and a picnic too!

Beer was great! And the venue was pet friendly! I love being able to sample the drafts before buying a pint. The bartender was very welcoming as well as the other patrons. I spent most of the afternoon making out with the bartenders dog. Couldn’t be happier!

When we first sat down in here a few months ago, I was so excited to be sampling a flight of beers made here. Previously, we would have had to drive 6 hours to get to Asheville for an experience that was even close to this. The ambiance is fantastic, the staff are great, and it’s fun to get to meet other random people trying a new place. Beyond all that social stuff, the beers are all very tasty. A very nice selection, usually about 8 beers made in house. Three flights are great and the pint nights even better. There are a ton of breweries popping up around Wilmington, and this one can definitely hold its own against them all! What are you waiting for, come try it out! Until then, I’m going back to drinking my beer.

Loved this place!!! Small relaxed brewery feel with really good beers. Quite crowded even on a Saturday at 4:30. Limited seating inside but beer garden outside. Have cafeteria style line for beer and paying which seemed odd when I walked in but was very organized and actually was a great idea. Only issue was that line blocked the door. Service was very polite and quick. Will definitely return every time I’m in Carolina Beach.

If you live on or near or maybe your visiting Carolina Beach Good Hops Brewery is a place you defiantly should go to! It’s a small little brewery with excellent costumer service. One of my favorite brews is the Waterspout Stout. Also the great thing about this brewery is they have fun activities like BBQ and pint night.

It’s amazing where breweries are popping up these days. Even beach towns have them now! This is a small brewery and as I learned they are related to Lookout Brewery in Black Mountain NC(another one on my list to check out). The taproom is a decent size with a bar and a few tables. There is also an outdoor patio. The beers that stood out to me here were their stout and their barleywine. But I stuck with the stout. The staff was friendly although a little disorganized when I got there. They have snacks available from another local business, The Veggie Wagon which is a great option. I wish breweries closer to me would do something like that. Good place, definitely worth checking out if you are at the beach and it is a short drive from Wilmington as well.

I wish Unilocal allowed half stars b/c I’d like to give Good Hops 4.5 Stars. Having moved here from Denver, arguably the micro brewing capital of the US, and had my share of micros from some of the best in the business, I can say that Good Hops can hold their own. They’re not quite ready to win any medals(at least not against the big boys), but they certainly are no slouch. They do a good job on just about every beer they make(almost all of them), which isn’t easy. There isn’t much in the way of atmosphere, but there really isn’t supposed to be when you go to a tasting room(it’s not a restaurant). Tasting rooms typically are a bit stark, but the staff is great and the owners are often there, and, most importantly, the beer is good.

Solid brewery and welcome addition to Carolina Beach. I had the hoppy flight and don’t remember any of the beers blowing me away, but I live in the Triangle so I am a bit spoiled. The staff were friendly, and there is lots of room to sit inside or outside.

I was very happy to find a craft brewery near Carolina Beach. I did not expect to find one this good though! First, the staff was awesome. They were very friendly and took the time to explain each beer to us. I could really tell that they took pride in the beer they are making and serving there. My girlfriend and I sampled a flight of beer. While all of them were tasty, my favorites were the Perinneal Centennial Pale Ale and the Flip Hop IPA. If you can’t tell, I was very impressed with the beer they’re making at this place. One other nice touch I thought I would mention is that instead of serving pretzels as a snack, they serve a homemade cracker. It’s baked and buttery with a little spice and salt. it was very tasty and complimented the beer very well. I’ll be going back to Good Hops Brewing the next time I’m in the area!
