Homemade family owned candy store located along Linden in the beautiful charming beach town of Carpinteria. Nice selection of salt water taffy, homemade chocolates regular and sugar free, fudge, ice cream, and candy. The store is well organized and clean. The clerk was warm and friendly. It has a really nice small town feel to it that you don’t get anywhere any more.

Love the candy, it’s a must stop when in the area. Minor complaints — the candy is on the expensive side, and you often have to track someone down to help you or check out. Major complaint — twice now we have been overcharged, and this past time it was by over $ 10! Of course we didn’t double check till we got home, 2 hours later, so that’s on us. And they don’t give itemized receipts, so it’d be hard to prove unless you have them ring it up again on the spot.

Although the selection of candy described by the prior reviewers is quite accurate, I never got past the ice cream counter today and here’s why! The store has a small selection of Dreyer’s ice cream flavors. I asked the boy at the counter to give me a scoop of strawberry and one of cookie dough. The boy produced a ½ cup sized plastic container and I immediately asked if it would be «big enough.» The boy explained, «We squeeze it in.» The boy then produced, I’m not kidding, a melon baller and put two tiny scoops into this tiny cup with room to spare. Cost: FIVEDOLLARS. Need I say more. I had been a customer here for going on 15 years and was quite surprised by the new mini-scoop. Times are hard in Carpinteria, with many familiar restaurants and shops having shuttered their doors. How bad can this joint’s overhead have become? Farewell, Robitaille’s!

Great selection of treats with small town charm. One suggestion is to check what’s offered by the piece compared to what’s prepackaged. A friend saw a large peanut butter cup for $$ and the mini version was less than a dollar per piece. Just enough to satisfy the craving!

Absolutely love this place. The ambiance is so fun and they have such a hugeeee selection that I discover new items pretty much every time I come! The candy is AMAZING, especially the homemade fudge. Other than obvious items like brand-name candy bars, they make everything from scratch, right in the back of the store. You can see through the big window inside too! Very cool and fun! Been coming here since I was a little kid, I would highly recommend the fudge, chocolates, Honeycomb, and Caramel corn in particular. You’ll never be disappointed at Robitaille’s!

Seeing how all of the other reviews talk about how nice the employees are here, I sure didn’t experience the same. There was an older lady with short salt and pepper hair that didn’t acknowledge me when I walked in, didn’t ask if I had any questions, didn’t even say anything to me at the counter. She just took my items and started ringing up my order. Very cold… I guarantee if she was working for me, she would get some training on how to interact with customers.

This shop specializes in fudge, old time candies, and ice cream. It was so much fun wandering around and picking out candy from our childhood. We were on vacation and ended up leaving the shop with lots of treats and gifts for those back home. The chocolate dipped apricots were my favorite and my husband loved the rocky road clusters. I also like that they make their candy on site in the back. We could see the machines through the window. A must to stop in every time we are in Carp!

Fun place! If you’re walking along Linden(the main shopping street) in Carpenteria be sure to stop by. It’s an old fashioned candy store and most of the confections are made in house. I can’t vouch for the chocolate because I didn’t try any, although it looked intriguing, but the taffy is really good. They have dozens of varieties from mundane to exotic. Colorful bags of individually wrapped sweets with flavors like pomegranate, mango, coconut, key lime and apricot fill the front of the store. I bought several bags to bring home as gifts and to eat myself. We ate a whole bag if the coconut taffy. Yum!

Great ladies that work there, fun nostalgic candies as well as great tasting chocolate. Please taste the peanut butter cups and milk chocolate turtles! The kids loved coming here and we cannot wait to see you again next year! Thank You!

With a very friendly staff and old-timy appeal, it is hard to not stop into Robitaille’s if you’re walking down the street in Carpinteria. They have a large selection of candy made in house, along with old hard to find favorites, fudge, icecream, and frozen bananas. Offering many popular choices in sugar free and light/dark chocolate is a plus. Does not compete with top-tier chocolate, but defiantly worth a visit to browse their selection and try something sweet and new!

I love this local institution! The staff here is as sweet as the treats they ring up. Make sure to try something they make/package themselves: like the sea salt caramels, honeycombs, dark chocolate covered raspberry peels, or candied ginger!!!

There is no need to visit Bluth’s Frozen Banana Stand when Robitaille’s is in the neighborhood. Their frozen bananas are $ 2.50 and delicious, particularly on a hot afternoon.

Very kind and giving family. Always friendly and smiling. They make some delicious candies and it is always a stop when I hit the west coast and always will be. Tasty candy, friendly atmosphere, and home made goods at a great price.

I want to like this place, they’re local and it’s chocolate, but the quality is really mediocre. The prices are good, but it’s of Hershey’s or Nestle quality — heavy on the corn syrup and cocoa flavoring. I want more actual chocolate in my chocolate candy. And I love sweets(which is how I ended up here), but some were too sweet, like it was more sweet than it was chocolate, if that makes sense. I tried some truffles which are kept behind a glass case. This involves finding someone who works there to help you. This can take some time. Sometimes there is only one person working and you’re SOL if you want a butter cream or truffle or candies sold by the each. I’m sure if you’re camping at the beach and wander up Linden Ave to find Robitaille’s it must be like finding gold, but if you’re a resident and just want some good chocolate, go elsewhere like Chocolate Maya in SB or Trufflehound’s in Ventura.

One of the only old-fashioned candy shoppes left! The variety offered is huge, including vintage, housemade, sugar-free and unique candies/chocolates. I have found items that I don’t find anywhere else. Prices aren’t exorbitant either. They have a huge window that reveals the ladies working on the different housemade offerings. They also boast Icees, ice cream, and a fudge bar. Just thinking about all of it makes my mouth water…

My Husband and I stopped by here once again here after our camping trip. They are opened 7 days a week. It’s a family owned business… going onto it’s 25th year. Neil absolutly love the licorice drops and I enjoyed the gummi drops & gummi sharks. The sales staff were helpful and very nice. Opened 2 min earlier than they were suppose to. :)

this is an amazing local candy store. Very good vibes right when you enter, you feel transformed back to the 50’s. If you walk straight to the back of the store you can view the employees making the candy right in front of you. They have a huge section of sugar-free/diabetic candy which is awesome. This place is responsible for providing presidential mints for several U.S. presidents and the workers in here truly do exude a passion for candy. The store is always clean and tidy and very easy to navigate. They have a great selection of seasonal/holiday candy always set up so cute in the front, and they offer a vast selection of gourmet sodas. They also have delicious fudge and ice cream! Great place to stop and spoil your sweet tooth!

First off I love how friendly and helpful the staff is, I never have to wait long for help even when it’s busy. I always get the chocolate honey comb and it is perfect! A very fun must visit place in Carpinteria, once of the best candy shops I’ve been in from Goleta to Ventura :)

This is definitely a five-star. Here’s why: –I have gone there ever since I could eat candy –the staff is amazing –its full of color –its a Carpinteria«must see» –it has delicious candy –it has a huge selection –they make their own salad dressing mixes(ask them!) Robitaille’s is the best candy shop around. Its the«original» in our family! We absolutely love it, and its a fantastic place to take kids! Every year when our family(sometimes 80+ people) goes camping, we make sure to hit Robitaille’s more than once during the week stay. Sometimes daily! Healthy Hits the Spot
