Yeargan is a life saver! I cannot say enough good things about this auto shop. First of all, I walked in and it smells amazing. Of course, he makes his own organic soaps and lip balms. How many auto mechanics do you know that do that? Anyway, I know nothing about cars and recently moved here and was having a few issues with my car. I called on a Friday afternoon and asked if they had time to check out my car– he said they were busy until Monday. I reluctantly said okay and asked about my «check engine» light being on– he said to come on in for a quick check just to be safe. I went over, he topped off my oil, fixed a light bulb, did some diagnostics and told me it’s nothing urgent ALL FOR NO CHARGE. I came back again for a leak (which turned out to be just AC condensation) and he did it all again for NO CHARGE. This is quite possibly the only honest auto shop that ever existed. The people that work here are kind and friendly and honest! And get some lip balm– it’s amazing!!! I’ll definitely be coming here in the future.

I needed to have the driver side interior door handle replaced on my 1999 Toyota Camry. I had my own part. I was only charged $ 42! I can’t recommend this place enough! Finally an honest, courteous, reasonably priced garage I can trust!

I called about having a flat tire and was told to come right in and they would get to it as soon as possible despite having several other customers there. Less than two hours later I came back and they had fixed my tire and put it back on my car, all free of charge. I was also given some coupons for free or discounted services in the future… couldn’t recommend these guys highly enough!

They honored an expired our local deal which was really nice of them. I was expecting just to get the value I paid for the deal, but he honored the oil change and I was very grateful. I was able to get my oil changed in time for work at 9am. Friendly and genuine and very nice to honor an expired «coupon.» Thanks! I’ll definitely be giving them my automotive repair/​maintenance business in the future.

If you like good ol’ boy style mechanics, this is the place to go. These guys are not only skilled at what they do, but they are good people. They are honest and will work with whatever schedule you have. The guys who work here really go out of their way to make sure your car is running the best it can and that you get the best customer service. I have used them for two and a half years and have brought my to them for both the basics and the strange. One of the strange was when I was living in Charlotte and my car had a severe pull to the right. Nothing the Tire Kingdom or the Costco guys did to try and fix it worked. I brought it up to Chapel Hill and Yeargans spent hours testing it to figure out with was wrong with the car. When they finally had me pick it up, they had an answer (one of my brand new tires was defective) and a notarized letter explaining it for the Costco tire department so I could get a new one. To top it all off, they didn’t charge me anything.

Oil plug fell out ten days after I had an oil change done here. These guys accused me of scamming them and they wouldn’t put a new engine in my car. I wouldn’t take my car here because chances are the work will be poorly done and you might lose an engine and therefore a good, reliable car. I have tons of friends that go to Auto Logic and they have never had a single complaint. Guess that was my mistake — I’m going there next time. YEARGAN’S VEHEMENTLY DENIED THAT THE OIL PLUG COULD FALL OUT TEN DAYS AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS WHO HAVE SAID THAT THE OIL PLUG CAN FALL OUT TEN DAYS AFTER AN OIL CHANGE IF NOT SCREWED IN CORRECTLY.

Amazing service. Had an issue for years that other shops never fixed correctly. Came to Yeargans and the problem was fixed once and for all. Great prices and amazing mechanics.

I have NEVER had such a positive experience involving automotive repair. This shop got our car in on the day of appointment, e-​mailed us a full detailed estimate before proceeding with the work, and when it was time to pick the car up, there were zero surprises!
Prices were good, service was good, staff was friendly, really you can’t ask for more!

Bryan is the only mechanic I trust to be straight up and not tell me that I need things that I actually don’t need on my car.

I found a coupon for this place in a local booklet and thought, hurray! Cheaper oil change!
I called last Thursday afternoon to ask if Yeargan’s could squeeze me in for an afternoon oil change. They were all booked up, and the desk person — I’m assuming Brian — told me to call back the next morning (Friday) to get in on Friday afternoon. I dutifully called back the next morning. The same desk person’s response? «You should’ve made an appointment yesterday for today!» I was frustrated and dubious about this place’s service by that point, having never been offered the option of making an appointment, but the coupon was such a good deal that I thought, okay, one more chance. I asked about an appointment for Monday. The desk person told me to bring my car any time after 8am, took down my name and car information, including that my car needs synthetic oil, and we were done.
I brought my car in about 12:45pm the following Monday (today). The desk person informed me that the mechanic was at lunch and wouldn’t be able to service my car until 2pm. I asked, «If I bring it back at 2pm, will it be ready in time for me to get back to work nearby by 3pm?» He assured me that it would. I emphasized that I had a meeting at 3pm I needed to cover, and he told me it would be no problem.
I brought my car back just before 2pm. The desk person took my key and I settled down to wait. At 2:37pm I got nervous and looked out at the parking lot: my car was still there, untouched. The other guy in the waiting room told me he’d gotten there just at 2pm, no appointment, and they’d taken his car for an oil change.
I asked the desk person what was going on. He made hurried excuses and said my car would be done soon. Long past 3pm, going on 4pm, he at last confessed that they hadn’t had the kind of synthetic oil my car takes on hand and had been forced to send someone out to get it. He also said, «If I’d known you were going to be waiting for the car, I would have scheduled you for an appointment early in the morning!» What he meant was, «If only I’d listened to you to begin with, this raging clusterfuck would have never happened!»
Long story short: this business does NOT communicate well. What I saved in money I ended up having to spend in time, and I am not pleased at all that I went through the hassle of making an appointment only to have been cast to the side regardless. I will only seek out this place again if I receive another coupon for a cheap oil change… and if I have a whole day to spare to just leave my car there, since my time was clearly their lowest priority.

Yeargan’s is one of the best businesses I’ve encountered in Carrboro, and that’s saying a lot. It’s also the best auto repair business I’ve ever used. This morning, I called them about a dead battery and they came to my house and jump-​started my car. I then took it in to make sure everything was okay, and they checked it all out. This is the second time they helped me without charging me a dime. The last time was for a flat tire. Now, the first time we took the car to them, we did end up spending quite a bit, but it was for honest repairs at an honest price. You bet I’ll be back, and I would highly recommend Yeargan’s to friends.

They are fair and reasonable with their prices and work. Brian Yeargan will give you very hands on service. He will not overcharge you, and he will tell you when you don’t need something. That is something I really appreciate. I do with they would start to accept cars before 8am because I have to get to work early. But all in all, they are a pretty good choice as you family mechanic. I would recommend them to friends.
