Great beer! The saison is very good. They also have plenty of table and fun board games. Great place to hang out.

Yester Years is finally brewing beer! On this most recent visit they had 2 on tap: Cascadian Black IPA and Son of WHYBO Goes to Key West(WHYBO stands for we’ll hop your brains out). Boyfriend and I were able to sample both beers, I did not care for the Black IPA but I really enjoyed the Key West and ordered a pint of it. My only complaint this visit would be the service, it did not make for an enjoyable experience. I am looking forward to trying new Yester Years beers! It would be neat if they added a what is currently on tap section on their website.

My perhaps 5th visit here from Chapel Hill(! Yes venturing out a bit) Great selection today of Saranac brews. I like of course Imperial IPA. Wonderful place to have a few pints, hangout with family, friends, kids(yes on the tables away from bar) play board games and bring your food(pizza from next door). Hope I’m coming back again soon.

They are still not brewing their own beer here, but they do have a nice selection from other breweries on tap. It is a little confusing at first if you are unaware that they are not actually a brewery yet, and no one explained that to us. I shared a flight of some of the seasonals with my boyfriend and the friendly bartender even helped recommend some based on the choices we had already made. We were there on Carrboro music fest day and it seemed cramped by the bar even though it wasn’t particularly busy yet. I liked being able to sit out front and watch main street in Carrboro even though it was rainy the day we were there. I will definitely go back once they start brewing their own, but probably not just to drink the beers they have on tap.

I like the beer here and the space is cool, but they need to fix the locks on the bathroom doors.(I caught a poor guy«at the office» and it was bad news all around.)

A new brewery in Carrboro has popped up and they’re slinging the beers right even though there have been a couple hiccups in their almost two month start. Located directly next to Cat’s Cradle, the location is stellar. Since I don’t LIVE in Carrboro, most of my activities revolve around concerts at Cat’s Cradle or Carrboro Town Commons [a ten minute walk from the brewery]. The brewery itself is inviting with a modern wooden and stainless steal fixtures. You enter and are immediately greeted by the bar, couches, tables, barstools and the like. A surprising feature of this brewery is it’s strong COFFEE aroma. That’s right folks, Yester Years shares their space with Gray Squirrel Coffee Company, who literally opened up shop this week! Yester Years had a fabulous bartender from up state New York that is truly fabulous. She made our experience wonderful! Unfortunately, they’re still working on brewing their own beers due to an unfortunate mishap with the latest batch, so nothing of their own, but they have a good selection other kegs [I can’t award a five-star rating for this reason, got to test the product first!]. TAKENOTE: they also have growlers but don’t have a license to sell other people’s beer in them, only their own, which of course they don’t have yet. In addition to the good selection, clean and modern space and friendly staff, they’ve also got a great selection of boardgames and oldie games [make sure you play rock em sock em robots!]. And they’re winning with a tiny patio out back that boarders Cat’s Cradle and the Back Bar at Cat’s Cradle. Overall, Yester Years is doing a great job with their space, and I will happily be stopping in pre or post concert, I can’t wait until they get their own brews!

Can I give it 6 stars? Please? I’m in love with Yester Years. First off, the beer is killer. The bartender always has wonderful recommendations which is good because most of the time I don’t know the names! Whoever selects their beer makes sure to look all over to bring in the best and most variety. I’m also a wine lover and some nights I go out, I simply don’t feel like beer. But don’t fret! Their wine selection is just as varied and delicious as their beer selection. The atmosphere is wonderful. A large, spacious room with community tables as well as smaller personal ones. They have old timey games such as a giant Jenga and some fighting plastic robots. Makes for a fun evening. They also have a back patio which I’m looking forward to using once it cools off more. Trivia night is every Wednesday and corresponds with the local running groups. So theres usually a lively crowd. They have a very basic menu of food, but they also have a bring your own food policy. So you can bring in any food that you want! I’ve brought in chips and things to pair nicely with the beer. There’s also a great pizza place right next door(Amante’s) that’ll deliver to you or you can just pick it up. I go here for a good drink and a fun atmosphere. I can’t recommend them enough.

I gave this place 5 stars because the only thing I even remotely don’t like about it is the name. I just don’t get the«yester years» vibe that the name implies. However that is the ONLY complaint I have after going several times. The owners and employees seem awesome so far(they’ve been really supportive of the run clubs at Fleet Feet next door), the beer selection is already delicious and diverse(I can’t wait until they get cleared to serve their own), and the facilities are clean(the old Fleet Feet bathrooms were nice, and they haven’t done anything to screw that up). Trivia on Wednesdays has been really fun so far, too. I highly recommend it, especially since they seem totally cool with you bringing in food from elsewhere. So swing by a taco truck or grab something at Weave, and head on over!

YES. VERYYES. YesterYears Brewery and Taproom is the latest brewery to appear in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area. It is amazing. They may not have their own beers on tap yet, but they have on tap a lot of area beers(such as Double Barley). The beers are comparably priced to other beers in the area. In addition, the space is really well used in terms of tables and seating, and in addition has a combination of cool games(Giant Jenga! Rock’em Sock’em Robots!) and great events(TRIVIA on Wednesdays!). You can also order pizza and other good foods from Amante and bring it over to Yester Years. So yes, you should come here and drink and have a good time. Also Captain America guards the men’s room and Wonder Woman guards the women’s room. That’s pretty awesome too.
