My friend and I were looking for a place to grab lunch, and since we were in the area, we stopped by this café. I was already skeptical about eating here since everything on the menu seemed to be a bit pricey for what it was. Needless to say, once we received our orders, we wondered where the rest of it was. I ordered the breakfast egg sandwich. Before ordering this, I asked the owner/waiter if it would be filling, and he assured me that it would be scrambled eggs, ham, and cheese inside of two thick slices of texas toast. However, when the sandwich came out, it was super flat. It was white bread that they«grilled». This was definitely not texas toast. I would only recommend this for a small kid, in order to get full. My friend ordered the special of the day, which was a wrap with a thin slice of turkey and cream cheese. I would never come here again and I wouldn’t recommend the lunch menu. I would like to say that the workers are very nice and welcoming.

Just popped in to grab a quick bite between meetings. What a treasure this place is! Beautiful historic building with a stunning double staircase and lots of light(would be great for an event). My chicken salad sandwich was fantastic and unlike any I’ve had before with surprising roared sesame seeds and homemade mayo. The potato salad with lemon was also unique and delicious. I sat at the bar while the owner and chef made my order and it was really cool to see how enthusiastic he is about his craft and his food. He gave me a little cookie to nibble on while I waited also, out of the display case on the bar. I don’t remember what all was in it — caramel and pecans maybe? But wow — one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning to this place.

The best thing about this café is the service. I think it’s just not my type of place because it was packed so people must really like it. The live jazz is cool but for a small town place, I think it’s way over priced. The wine is sub par but priced like it’s tha shit. Whatever, I’m not hatin, it’s just wasn’t my speed.

A very particular and historical restaurant that’s owned by an interesting couple committed to their craft, Broadway Bistro is the kind of place you can casually pop into or reserve for an idyllic occasion. It seems to be a deli by weekday and a trendy jazz club by weeknight, but no matter what time you stop in, you’ll get to admire the beautiful staircase and brick walls that have been standing since the early 1900’s, as well as the labor of love that goes into your food. I joined the party at Broadway Bistro on a weekend night when the jazz was flowing and the menu offered 3 course meals instead of sandwiches. Bruschetta or salad for the 1st course, pork, beef, or lamb for the 2nd, and cheesecake, key lime pie, or red velvet cake for dessert. I chose the pork loin as my main meal because it was stuffed with mushrooms and painted in a sweet glaze. Oh, how I loved it! The portions were pretty small for a fairly steep price, but the food was beautiful so I was okay with it. If you browse through Broadway Bistro’s website or Unilocal photos you can preview the grandiose wooden staircase that serves as the centerpiece of this venue. Seated at the base of the stairs, I felt like I’d see Jack and Rose come waltzing down any second serenaded by Celine Dion. Instead(and just as well), there was a swanky jazz band playing. The lighting was dim and made romantic by red votive candles, people were dancing, and the drinks were pouring. Broadway’s house wine is only 5 $ a pop, so there’s a fab deal that’ll keep you dancing with the regulars!

I really want to like this place because the owner is extra friendly but I am confused on several things First, the prices are high for lunch — like $ 10 for a small sandwich w/pasta salad served on a crappy plate w/plastic eating utensils ??? Confusing — I mean charge ten but put it on a nice plate w/some actual silverware Second, I am confused why the lady does all the work while he gets tipped — I mean I am not so sure how they actually tip out but you own the place so this poor lady who most likely makes a small salary is getting ripped off — I was like put the money in her jar and he can keep giving out compliments/flirt until his wife walks in then ignore us LOL Third, lets get to it — the food — well my co-worker is from NY and she really enjoyed her Reuben but for me I did get the special of the day at $ 5 w/$ 2 ice tea — another confusing thing considering it’s tea folks — why charge $ 2 for something that cost like a penny a cup and it isn’t coming from a special coffee shop and even they don’t charge over $ 2 so I don’t get it My Chili w/Roasted Potato’s was average at best — I just was not very impressed but maybe in the evening it is better and worth the money

Stopped here for lunch while visiting Downtown Carrolton for the afternoon. The owners were welcoming and friendly, told me all kinds of cute historical facts about downtown. The food was good, not particularly special, but a fine lunch that was healthy and tasty. I had a chicken salad sandwich with chips and a drink. Tasted fresh and better than I would’ve made at home. I’ll definitely return. They have a beautiful staircase inside that I instantly thought would be beautiful for a wedding, if anyone is looking for a unique place for a small affair.

This place was STELLAR! Me and my friend walked into here late night and we felt like we were straight on the set of MadMen. Anywho, again we went here late one night on a weekend. So I can tell the environment is very different depending on the time of day; it’s a small, busy, unassuming café at day; by night it’s a swingin jazz club. With live jazz music, dark-moody lighting, fancy eats, overall sexy atmosphere. The key word here is AT-MOS-PHERE! But the most important part are the owners. SUPERNICE and super sweet! Very great service from them and so accommodating. They opened up the grill just for us, we happened to come in last minute as the show was winding down. Such a beautiful couple who own this place. You can tell they truly have a passion and love for each other and their business. I’m a sucker for small business owners who have a passion and hard work ethic, so be sure to TIPTHEMWELL! The food itself is again fancier, and yet simpler selection. It’s not the best place for dinner, but better for snacks and small deli items between meals I’d say. Still, they offer unique delicacies that are very freshly made and pretty delish. Sadly the food is definitely not filling, especially since it’s on the pricer side. You’re paying for the experience and atmosphere. So yeah it’s not a bad place to bring a date late night for some drinks, snacks and live music. So grab your dance shows, zoot suite and fedora on and grabbing a gal for a romantic night out on the town of olé’ Carrollton!

First time guest at Broadway Bistro Café. Atmosphere is very nice, and so are the owners the lovely wife was very helpful and informative. I felt the menu was limited, but has a decent selection. I would have liked the portions to be a bit bigger, especially for the price. I shouldn’t have had to eat again two hours later. I will definitely go back! Great location and much more affordable than certain other places on the square that are open for dinner. The restaurant we went to before we found this one, was horribly over-priced. We just werent willing to pay nearly $ 100.00 for three people to eat, especially for this area. Discover the BBC for yourself! You will be glad you did!

I pass by this café all the time-today I decided to see what this was all about-There were 2 menus to choose from since it was Saturday-the regular menu and the tapas/wine pairing menu-the food was excellent-I ordered the Healthy Chicken Sandwich(large portion of chicken and the toasted sunflower seeds gave it the perfect crunch) and my husband ordered the pork sliders-the meat was tender, sauce tangy and the consistency of the homemade pretzel bread was spot on! What I liked about this food is that it was clean and healthy AND delicious! Staff was great ! The Owner/Chef introduced himself to us and asked us how we were enjoying our meal, when someone is as passionate and excited about the foods that are served as he is, that only entices me to come back for more! We will be back!

Deli doesn’t get much better than this! The meat was freshly cut and tasted fantastic. All the condiments tasted fresh as well and the sauce used was delightfully proportioned with interesting flavors. The sodas come in a can so it doesn’t lend itself to easy refills like most restaurants do — not a huge fan of this because I love my sodas but it wasn’t too bad. The layout is a bit awkward but there’s plenty of space to sit and it fits in well with the downtown style of the area. The building is beautiful and has some great local touches to it. Overall great location and good seating arrangements. The owners are very nice and are willing to give you suggestions. I will come back to bring friends and family. $ 9 for a combo meal included a square sandwich, small side of potato salad and one can of soda. Good quality food dictates higher prices I suppose.

Plastic utensils, plastic water glasses and paper napkins. Really? $ 60 for the three of us and only two had one drink each. We went looking for something to eat immediately after. Owners were friendly. Live music was nice. Pork sliders not well seasoned. Jalapeño wraps were good. Screwdriver had decent amount of alcohol. Left hand milk stout not available everywhere, but served in the bottle. Wife liked the setting and as it filled up it looked like it would be fun. Not a restaurant. More like a club. Don’t go hungry. Great spot for a drink and a snack, especially sitting outside soaking up old town carrolton charm.

I am a long time resident of Carrollton and had not tried the Bistro… Shame on me. Stopped in for a business lunch. I had the Club, Creamy potato soup Chips. Was a nice tasty lunch and reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. He also shared they would have live music on weekends and serve Wine and beer. They do make specialty coffee. i’ll be back!

This place is great. The guy Joesph who is starting up this place is a gourmet chef. He has his own mix off coffee beans and the coffee tastes like none Ive had before. I am looking forward to trying lunch here. The owners are great, coffee and homeade pastries are awesome. Give it a try and tell what you think. Travis

Broadway Bistro Café is located in the heart of Downtown Carrollton that offers quick & easy meals for those who do not want to wine and dine. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owners. I would rate this higher if the sandwiches weren’t so overpriced. $ 9 for a sandwich which consists of deli meats, tomato and lettuce. This is something that you can make at home. With that being said, there’s a lot of room for improvement. To add more value to this place, they should provide free wifi and perhaps comfortable lounge chairs/sofa.

I’m always on the lookout for a new lunch spot and glad I stopped into Broadway Bistro today. I was greeted by(owner) Joseph who was very helpful in describing what’s popular and how everything is fresh and homemade. I ordered the Cobb salad and enjoyed it very much. Their ranch dressing is homemade and fantastic. The salad was just as fresh as described and the perfect size. There’s a good chance that BB has just made it into my lunch rotation. I’ll be back to try a sandwich very soon.

This place was a sweet surprise to find! Originally from Carrollton but now live away every time we visit home we return to downtown to shop and spa. This was a new addition since the last time we were here. We entered and were immediately greeted by friendly staff who said that aside from offered menu items they would make a sandwich to order. The reason we were drawn here was for the amazing top quality boar’s head deli products. My only sadness came when I found they don’t carry my favorite Boar’s head meat the maple honey turkey. Although the turkey sandwich I ended up with was amazing. In fact everything I had was great including potato salad and an array of desserts. The proprietors were super nice and the place was open spacious and clean. Also a decent drink selection. I highly recommend this as a lunch spot!

Amazingly fresh and quality food at an affordable price. Set against the beautiful historic architecture of downtown Carrollton, this place is a gem. The owners are so welcoming and fun, and the staff are as helpful as it gets. I will most definitely make this eatery my #1 go-to for a healthy, relaxing, and budget-friendly meal.
