This place is a pass. Having grown up eating a lot of Cajun food, I was really excited to see this place open. But, excitement soon turned to disappointment. None of the cooking is «inspired,» and everything tastes like it came straight from the freezer, a bag, or a can. The roast beef Po’boy is just sliced sandwich roast beef; blackened means just dumping on a bunch of spice, Cajun bread tastes right out of the freezer with some bag-shredded cheese and Tony Chachere’s shaken on top. They don’t even have a Lousianna beer, like Abita, on tap. More than once when I asked for something, like fried oysters, I was told«we are out.» One time was early on a Saturday night with 3 other people dining in the entire place… how are you out of oysters in a Cajun place on a light weekend? I would suggest that the owners actually take a trip to New Orleans and visit some good, inexpensive restaurants like Johnny’s Po’boys to learn how to make a real Po’boy without a lot of expense. And, wander the streets trying gumbo, red beans and rice, and étouffée so they can see what it is supposed to taste like. Then simplify the menu and do just a few home cooked things really well if they want to survive. Oh, and turn off the loud, annoying, TVs and actually play some good Cajun zydeco music to help with the mood.

Me and my fiancée’ went to Cajun Corner on a Friday evening because I love Cajun food. She ordered a drink and told the bartender she just wanted something fruity. The waitress that was very nice and polite brought back a drink with crushed blueberries and strawberries to the point of not even being drinkable with a straw. I took a sip when I saw the face my fiancée’ made in disgust and it was like drinking simple syrup with alcohol, mostly syrup. Then my $ 8 bowl of red beans and rice comes out and their menu says full of sausage, I counted two in a whole bowl. I say something to the waitress and they make another whole bowl that was full of Sausage but it appeared the cook didn’t like the complaint because it had at least a whole container of salt added. I asked for a to go box and my dog probably liked it. He’ll eat anything though. Don’t go here.
