We went to the Carrollton location between Josey and Beltline. The staff was friendly and patient. We went to dinner early and there was just one couple there. My son is usually good on outings but he was sick that day and fussy. The staff tried to distract him with a toy and kept checking to see if we needed anything. I barely got to eat the sit down food we ordered, but the leftover phở and egg rolls I had later was on par with other average vietnamese restaurants. No disappointment.

I like this place and their hu tieu is good. But afterwards, my head was a little dizzy… sign of them putting too much MSG in the broth… The other place where I had this phenomenon was Que Huong in West Plano(Parker Rd) Prices were reasonable This place is next to a seedy quick cash place and parking was hard to get because there were so many cars waiting to go to the cash place

I’m changing my rating because I wanted to come by and haves a bowl of mu tieu on a SATURDAY at 5PM and they were closed. Who closes a restaurant on a Saturday?

The right crowd of people are here. Appropriate music and good looking food. Mostly phở at the tables, so i followed suit today. They asked me how sweet i wanted my coffee… i dont understand! Is there more sweet milk out there or do they add sugar to the coffee? The options were«unsweet, kinda sweet and good» The large soup is 25 cents more than the regular, must be just a change in amount of broth The broth was alright. nothing too special, but good enough! One of the better options that I’ve encountered in Dallas, Good level of veggies and tasty things in them. The meat was really weird tasting though…

I went here yesterday for lunch with my cousin. I had the chicken portage and she has the bun canh. I have to say both were really good. The portage was tasty and full of favor and had a lot of chicken meat. Next time I would as for white meat only because it was mostly dark meat. My cousin also enjoyed her bun canh. They are known for their hu tieu but we wanted to try something else on their menu and are glad that it was just as good. We also shared their spring rolls which tasted like any other place. They have this pickle garlic on the side that is awesome! I would come back and try other dishes they have on there. If you want cheap and tasty Vietnamese food then try this place out.

MMMMMMMMMMM Broth! Went here the other day for lunch and got the Hu Tieu with shrimp, squid, pork. You can choose either the clear noodles with egg noodles or the phở rice noodle. I chose the phở rice noodle. The broth is just delightful and has a rich kind of salty and sweet, but not too salty taste to it. You just have to try it to see what I mean. Of course I saw the phở on the menu, but the restaurant is called Hu Tieu My Tho so they must specialize in Hu Tieu right? Sure I love phở, but I wanted to try a different type of soup once in awhile. This soup hit the spot and although there could of been more meat, the broth more than makes up for it. I might come back and try the phở, but if I really wanted phở there’s a dozen other choices nearby that specializes in it. If you’re a fan of phở and want to mix it up a bit then come here and try the Hu Tieu; you won’t be sorry!

So, apparently this is their 3rd location. They have ones in Arlington and Garland. The name of the restaurant drew me to it. It’s unique; My Tho is where my dad is from and the city is known for hu tieu apparently. Anyway, naturally I ordered the #1 Hu Tieu, which is basically their hu tieu dac biet. This hu tieu includes shrimp, squid, and liver. FYI — for the hu tieu, you have the option of clear noodles or chewier opaque white noodles(same kind used in phở). You may also have dry hu tieu or hu tieu in broth. I chose the clear noodles in broth. Although it’s popular with both types of noodles, I’m so used to eating the opaque rice noodles with phở, I wanted to try something different. Wow, the hu tieu made me very nostalgic. For some reason, it took me back to Vietnam. Must have been the fried pork skin and the chives. jk, I dunno. The hu tieu was very good. A small is 6.25, whilst a large is 6.50. They want you to eat more! I feel like a bitch for giving this place 4 stars when nearly everyone else has given it 5. This place IS very good and authentic, in terms of the hu tieu(my body can only stomach so much food at a time). I wish I had time to go back and try other menu items. The place is not fancy schmancy, but it’s immaculate. It also has two flat screens mounted on opposite walls. Good enough for me! The menu is varied enough, although I’ve seen more extensive menus. If hu tieu isn’t your thing, they have phở, dry noodle dishes, congee, and rice… standard things. Two appetizers are egg rolls and spring rolls.

i came here based on the reviews. and i gotta say. the hu tieu is damn tasty. they could always use a bit more meat/seafood. but the broth is fantastic. flavorful. clean. and delicious. there are also multiple options for noodles(rice, egg, clear). i had the rice noodles which were awesome i can’t wait to go back and check out their phở.

I love phở. My sister and I both have tried the egg noodle phở and several occasions and it’s my main place now. The service is good, the prices are reasonable. It works for me!

I found the phở to be less than average, especially compared to its neighbor, Phở Pasteur. It just wasn’t as hearty… the broth was weak. The meat was okay, I guess, but the flavor just wasn’t very good. We ordered egg rolls, but they didn’t bring them. It sounds like the Hu Tieu is where it is at… but if you’re planning to eat phở, there are better places.

Hu tieu is noodles is a pork and seafood broth. And this place does it awesome. So far, I’ve been there at least every week or two. Just need my fix. I like the ones with liver. Their egg rolls are pretty good too. Try the lemonade with egg yolk. I like it. Need to try something else next time. 100% RTE.

This place has undergo many different owners and many different name changes. This place and owner finally got it right this time. I’ve finally found my go to phở place in the North Dallas/Carrollton area. I used to go to Phở Pasteur all the time cuz it was close and the food is OK. I like Hu Tieu more than Phở and this place has the best Hu Tieu so far. I always order a large bowl of their special combo Hu Tieu with two different types of noodel(clear and rice noodles). Have a small plate of fish sauce on the side with a little bit of chilli peppers in it and you have dipping sauce for your seafoods in the Hu Tieu! I’ve only had their Hu Tieu but my family and friends tried their phở, rice and bun bo hue and all gave it a two thumbs up review! Food here is good, semi cheap and service is pretty good. Phở Pasteur has been the big boy on the Josey and Beltline block, but they need to watch out for this place because if more people find out about it, this place will bypass Phở Pasteur in no time!

Carrollton is over saturated with phở places. Especially the beltline and josey intersection where this place is located. Hu Tieu is the the newest phở place on the block, and it’s my go to place to eat phở and Hu Tieu(I’ll explain later what that is later) or any other vietnamese noodles. Compared to Phở Pasteur, this place is much better in terms of quality of food and price. The prices here are fantastic and they don’t skimp you on the meat and seafood. 5.95 for a medium and 6.25 for a large compared to pasteur’s 7 for a large. These bowls are just as large Phở Pasteur but a little bit smaller than Phở Noodle Express and Grill down the street. The service is pretty much the same as any other phở place. They bring your drink and the traditional bean sprouts and other veggies and pretty much leave you alone unless you ask for something. They bring out the food pretty quick though. Now to the food. They have a very extensive menu. They have one thing on the menu I have never seen at any other phở places: rice porridges. They have varying selection of porridges from meat to seafood and is a little bit cheaper than the phở. I’ve never had them but is worth a mention. The entire first half of the menu is dedicated to Hu Tieu, vietnamese seafood noodle soup. The Hu Tieu broth is fantastic! There is no fishiness to the broth and it even passes my vietnamese girlfriend’s taste! Essentially all the options of Hu Tieu are your meat and seafood combinations and type of noodles. For Hu Tieu they have a special type of chewy clear noodles that are pretty good. Their phở is also extremely good. Unlike Phở Pasteur that puts in a ridiculous amount of msg along with just using a prepackaged phở mix, Hu Tieu makes their own phở broth. The soup is quite hearty and exceed anyone’s expectation. I gotta give them a shout out for their egg noodles. It’s just absolutely fantastic. To sum it up, Hu Tieu is my go to phở place in the dallas area. They blow Phở Pasteur out of the water.
