Clean clothes ready on time is all it takes to get five stars at a cleaner. Not rocket science but to these people it is.

We have had nothing but awesome experiences here at Kate Cleaners. When we first moved to this area, about 2.5 years ago, my boyfriend asked me if I saw any dry cleaners nearby. I said, «Why yes I did! And the name is easy for me to remember!» Kate Cleaners have been our go-to dry cleaners ever since. The prices are insanely affordable, service is always super quick, and most of the folks they have working there are awesome as well(some are better than others.). We took a whole bunch of stuff there one day: my winter coat, one of my sweaters, 2 of boyfriend’s suits(jackets, pants, 2 – 3 shirts). Price was absolutely astounding… and while we were there, the guy working asked if we wanted to get the lining of my coat fixed and try to steam out some of the more set-in stains. This was my grandmother’s coat. She bought it in about 1960, and it’s made to look and feel like cashmere(it’s «Kashmiracle», so says the tag inside). It’s taken its abuses over the years: there’s a small stain on the left lapel where my grandmother used to keep a pin/brooch back in the 60’s and 70’s, general wear and tear, and let’s face it: I spill stuff all the time. It sat unused in a closet for a long while, before I started wearing it. It was my every day winter coat for about 4 years, and I’d never taken it to get it dry cleaned, as I was afraid of ruining it. …safe to say that it needed some work. But seeing the care that Kate Cleaners always puts into my boyfriends expensive suits, I knew that I was leaving it in the right hands. Took them a couple of days to sew the lining back in and steam out most of the tough stains. But it only cost $ 10. For the cleaning AND fixing my lining. Holy crap. The coat looks just about brand new. It’s amazing. It’s also in perfect shape: they didn’t cause any damage to the 50 year old coat, even though it is a fairly cheap cashmere imitation fabric. They also warned my boyfriend, when he went to pick it up for me, that moths LOVE this kind of material and he had yet to see one in such good shape in all his years of dry cleaning and alterations. He very highly recommended that we keep this jacket with mothballs or cedar to avoid it getting eaten up in the future. There are a handful of dry cleaners in the area(one that is even closer to where we live), but Kate Cleaners will always be our default. And not just because my name is also Kate. Yes, it’s not the most updated and cool shop inside, but they do a damn good job at an incredibly reasonable price. They also make an effort to answer any questions we had: even before we ask!
