We stopped here on our way out of General Butler State Park and it was a great welcome back to restaurant dining! The tortilla soup was perfect if a little heavy on the rice but still five stars! Lunch buffet was awesome too, free for my under-5’s who will only devour beans and rice anyway, with enchilada options my 7-year-old raved about. Not to mention white nacho cheese and guacamole. Nachos supreme pleased my husband, too, along with the sweet tea and chips and salsa, the main reason he goes to Mexican restaurants. The salsa didn’t upset his heartburn and the kids loved it too. Thanks Mi Viejo, we’ll be back on our next visit to General Butler!

What a treat! On a road trip & chose to stop here because of the Unilocal rating… We now concur! If you want authentic, here it is. Crunchy tortilla chips & just the right spiciness salsa were immediately served. The waiter was friendly, offered more water refills & occasionally made sure our needs were met. My chicken tortilla soup was fabulous! There were chunks of shredded chicken, tortillas, fresh avocado, cilantro & lime… all of my favorites. My husband had the beef chimichanga. He said it was served piping hot, was very flavorful and filled with lean shredded meat(no gristle). We recommend the stop even though it’s about a mile off the exit. Two thumbs up!

We have only been here once. The service was great they were very fast and friendly. The place was really slow the night we came in. We got chips and salsa on the table when we sat down. I love their salsa. The food was great. We got our food very quickly. We ordered fried chicken burritos and they are so yummy. Definitely would go back.

Just like a previous reviewer, we stopped based on a Unilocal review. They were correct, fast service, polite, attentative, and great value. When we got off the exit, we had to drive past every fast food restaurant the USA has to offer but we were glad we drove only one more mile and had some great food and drink

¡¡Me encanta! We stumbled into this amazing gem. We stopped in Carrollton after a long day of driving and didn’t want fast food. We found this place and ate SO much we nearly had to crawl out! The menu was SO extensive it was really hard to choose what to eat! The fajitas and burrito both came with a trio of meats: steak, chicken and shrimp! And a wonderfully balanced portion of each… it was just delicious. The salsa tasted super fresh and had a great flavor. The queso was nearly perfect and the bean dip was out of this world! Chips tasted freshly made, too! Overall, a wonderfully happy find that we’re trying to find a reason to travel back for! You won’t be disappointed!

The family was staying at General Butler State Park, so we decided to get take out from here one evening for dinner. I’m glad we did! I got the Coyote Burrito. A burrito stuffed with chicken, steak, and shrimp and smothered in queso. I’m used to a burrito getting filled with mostly other stuff and having some meat in it. This was just the meat. It was so good! The chips and salsa were great as well. Highly recommended!

Really really love the food! Don’t be fooled by the awesome description of «shrimp wrapped in bacon». I ordered it expecting shrimp wrapped in bacon(go figure) but it’s shrimp covered in bacon pieces. Still completely delicious! Strawberry Margarita topped it off!

Second visit to this restaurant while staying at Butler park, and it was wonderful yet again. The service was great, and fast. I had fajitas and they were sooooo good. Couldn’t eat it all! They came with beans, rice, and a little guacamole so I got all my favorites! And this visit, we came on a Monday night and I enjoyed a HUGE margarita! It was just the right amount of tequila and lime/tart. And with temperatures above 90, a refreshing and welcome cold beverage. All in all, another great meal and experience. Loved it. I’ll be back.

SERVICE: The service was fast and the wait staff was very friendly. Warm, crunchy tortilla chips along with slightly spicy salsa was brought to our table immediately. ENTREE: My entrée(chorizo-pollo) was delicious even though the chicken was a little drier than I preferred. I just added a little salsa to it and it was fine afterward. Everything was clean and nice. The food tasted good and the portions were huge. I will eat here again if I am ever in Carrollton.

I only wish we could have come on a day when margaritas were available… No beer or liquor on Sundays in Carrollton. The food was amazing, the service was great and it was wonderful to sit outside. I would have been more comfortable in regular chairs instead of the high barstool chairs. I had the chicken chimichanga($ 10) and it was expertly fried to crispy perfection. The salsa was fresh and the guacamole that came with my entrée was terrific. I wish there were a place this awesome in my town!!!

Very good food and wonderful service. The salsa is made fresh daily and is excellent. Moderately priced, consistent with other similar restaurants. There are two Mexican restaurants in Carrollton but we eat at Mi Viejo every time.
