Setting up a first-time appointment for a second opinion was a nightmare. Office staff sent me in a loop; they said I couldn’t set up an appointment before the my records were transferred. Once the records were transferred, no one reached out to confirm receipt and setup appointment. I called front office back, but they couldn’t confirm that my records were received, so they transferred me to Records, who had a voicemail recording. Had to wait for Records to call me back later in the day or next day to confirm, then Records transferred me to the Front Office to setup appointment. Headache of an experience– the Front Office & Records should be communicating to confirm and reach out to new patients. Staff interactions in-person are much different(friendlier) than on the phone(very abrupt and impersonal). Seeking a second professional opinion, not sure if it’s normal for the second doctor to rely solely on medical records(xrays, MRI, and other doctors’ notes) rather than doing any hands-on testing of foot mobility, observation, etc. My expectation is the that the level of care should be the same, whether a new patient seeking a first, second, or third opinion. Dr. Heier was very nice, friendly, patient with questions though.

I saw Dr. Charles Neagle for wrist pain. Several few weeks later he performed surgery to remove torn cartilage resulting from a fall. After several weeks in various casts, the casts were removed and the pain in my wrist was much better, but I could not bend the joints in my thumb and forefinger! At no time while I was in casts did clinic personnel The neurologist at the clinic did extensive tests and diagnosed nerve damage as causing the paralysis. . I also had pain in my forearm from where the cast had pressed on my arm. Dr. Neagle at first denied that the casts had been too tight on my arm and then blamed me for trying to move my arm with the cast on my wrist. Not only did he deny that the too tight casts were to blame for my inability to fully bend my fingers, but did not offer to correct the problem. After months in therapy without improvement in the function of my hand, I went to a hand surgeon recommended by my GP, who found that I not only had scar tissue in my arm obstructing the nerves in my hand from the too tight casts, but my wrist was still painful. After this new surgeon performed surgery on the inside of my arm to remove the scar tissue, more movement and feeling returned to my forefinger and thumb. Although I asked Dr. Neagle for reimbursement to help cover the additional expense from the second surgery required to restore feeling and movement to my fingers, he refused and never admitted that he and his clinic were to blame for the paralysis. I don’t know about the other surgeons at Ortho Texas, but would advise you to stay away from Dr. Neagle due to his arrogance, lack of professionalism, and lack of surgical and treatment skills. You don’t want to have to end up having another surgery to correct his mistakes!

I only signed up for Unilocal so I could write this review. 90 minute wait time and seeing a doctor that literally did not know anything about my back pain. She didn’t care, at all. No introduction of herself, no apology for the wait. Literally a «I don’t know what to tell you» to all of MY questions. I wouldn’t even recommend my enemies to see her. Please get a proper referral from your primary care doctor and see a DECENT doctor. No, I don’t expect doctors to be God-sent and know every little detail about why I’m having pain. But basic knowledge should be expected. Just because someone has a fancy degree doesn’t mean anything. I learned more on Wikipedia and WebMD. The icing on the cake is that I’ll have to pay for this crummy visit.

Been waiting an hour and a half to see the doctor. I’m definitely going to find someone else for my surgery, this is terrible.

I love you, Dr. Graehl. So, after a fluke accident while I was playing basketball at my local gym, I came here to undergo my second round of knee x-rays. It turns out that my «sprain» was actually several torn cartilages and ligaments. Most of the staff, with the exception of the talkative and obnoxious front-desk ladies, were very friendly and inviting! I am glad that my primary care physician referred me to this Doctor and to this facility.
