Very busy Place, so it must be good. Had the hot pork soup. Don’t know Korean translation. Not a huge soup fan, but it’s supposed to be their signature dish. Lots of meat with the good cartilage like you get with rib tips. All the meals come with the usual sides. Nice on a cold day, but next time will try something that’s not soup. Only ten bucks so it was a good deal. No alcohol. Was thinking suju would be great with this meal. If your a non-Korean speaker, they call your number in Hanguel when your food is ready. So you might have to let them know. They give you the paper with the number on it. Don’t be intimidated, they are very nice folks.

This place is great for the price, quality, and service! It’s exactly like Ajumma across the parking lot — the owners are apparently siblings, I think! Price is on point with the quantity of food you receive. Everything is self service, they don’t charge any tip! Service is generally fast. They call out your order number when your food is ready. I was here during dinner time, and it got a little crowded with seating and waiting for our food. But things cleared up pretty quickly, and our food was still great quality despite being busy! I recommend the Donkatsu — can’t go wrong with it. A lot of quantity for a cheap price, and the quality is pretty solid.

Cheap, generous portions, and authentic. Not much more you could ask of a nice lunch spot. Every time I go it seems to be packed with people and they are so popular they sell out of some of their menu choices. The place is pretty much self serve and I like it like that. Kind of a throw back to cafeteria style meal. Now that the weather is colder I might be visiting more often. The tofu soup always hits the spot, especially when served with a bowl of hot purple rice and some bulgolgi. I wish they served galbi but then the menu would get more complicated with different pricing.

I have been here on Monday night with my friends. We ordered a lot of foods and it was really good! It was so cheap. I really like this restaurant.

Authentic. That’s the best word I can use to describe this place. They even called out the order numbers in Korean but somehow they figured to use English for only my & my friend’s orders. We were prepared to hear«sa ship oh & sa ship yook» too aha. You can choose a soup + any meat dish — the meat dish decides the final price. For me, I got soondubu jigae & marinated pork for only $ 11! And 5 banchan dishes too! What a steal. The jigae was very delicious and had a lot of seafood — scallop, mussels, squid, mini shrimps, and a whole shrimp with head and shell. It came out steaming hot and an egg was already mixed in there. This dish would be even more remarkable if they gave us a raw egg to drop in ourselves: D. The pork was very abundant and flavorful. I love how it came with purple rice too! As for banchan, I’m not a fan of these in general so I can’t comment on any. Definitely glad we randomly dropped in! I can’t wait to come back and try the other meats — can’t imagine another place that offers that much food for a bargain!

Its authentic korean food. I always get the silken tofu soup with spicy marinated pork. Its enough to feed 2 and for only $ 11. I love this place.

In a nut shell, this place is basically the food court of Hmart, except four hundred and twenty times better. No tax, no tip, no bullshit, and they accept cards. Food is awesome and is value town worthy. Only thing I could complain about if I was actively trying to find something wrong with this place would be the chopsticks that are presumably made with paper and can never split together correctly like some conjoined twin.

Great down-to-earth authentic Korean food! Their menu is very limited, but it is so cheap compared to all the other Korean restaurants in the Hmart area. I ordered the tofu soup + bulgogi for $ 11!!! It came with a huge bowl of purple rice and all the side dishes. I was so happy I chose to eat here because it was so delicious and filling. I went on a Saturday at 3pm and it was still kind of busy, so I imagine this place gets pretty crowded during mealtimes. The tofu soup was spicy but not too spicy which was perfect for me because I am very sensitive to spicy things. The bulgogi portion was pretty large and nicely flavored. I will definitely be back here again!

WHOO Authentic, delicious Korean food?! Yeah! Purple rice?! Yeah! Large portions?! Yeah! One dollar sign $?! Yeah! This place was pretty impressive. The tofu soup was delicious, relatively mild, and came with a decent serving of bulgogi, purple rice(!), and side dishes. The soup itself was also very hearty, with generous portions of seafood, egg, and meat that you don’t often find in a lot of tofu soups! The pork katsu serving was also super filling and it was served on this overwhelmingly huge plate and I was in katsu heaven. Shall be back!

This is what every Korean wants… a practical place to eat decent Korean food and you don’t have to tip! The kimpap(Korean Sushi sans fish) was a lot skinnier and therefore less flavorful. I really liked the soon du bu. The Bibimpap(rice bowl in hot stone bowl) was large but sort of average in taste… The prices are fair, the food is above average… I’ll probably be back, especially since new ownership at Omi has jacked up the price and lowered the quality there.

Cheap and good quality Korean food! Everything is self-serve so you don’t have to worry about tipping! We ordered Kimbap, Pork Bone Soup, and Donkatsu. It was my first time trying the Pork Bone Soup and it was very very very bland in my opinion. Not sure if that’s how the Korean Pork Bone Soup supposed be taste like but I did not enjoy the soup very much. However, the pork was fully cooked and very tender! The Kimbap was probably the best I ever had! The sesame and sesame oil they used on Kimbap make it extra delicious! The Donkatsu comes with rice, salad, and pickles. I really liked the sauce but the meat are a bit too thin compared to Abe. I’d love to come back for more Kimbap and probably their tofu stew combo!

This place is easy. Nothing is complicated and pretty traditional. No tax no tip. You get your own food and clean it up yourself. Al the food is reasonably priced and is definitely delicious. You can’t go wrong with their pork bone soup or the pork bulgogi.

Good quality food for an even better price. My friends introduced me to this gem as it is a little hard to find in the thousands of restaurants in the H-Mart area. I always get the kimchi tofu soup with the bulgogi plate. For $ 11, you cannot beat that price as you will leave completely full and satisfied. You seat yourself and help yourself to your own silverware so there’s a no tipping sign for this reason. The place is a fairly small but it’s nice cozy atmosphere. The people that work there have all been really nice and pleasant every time I’ve been.

This place has real, authentic Korean food! The pricing is decent and portions are good(: Their menu is a bit limited but it has all the«musy-have» Korean classics like ddukbokki and dolsut bibimbap and etc. Seating is ideal for parties up to 6 because they have many small tables. There is a private room but it also only seats about 6 – 10, and there’s only one. Thus restaurant is very Korean style in a sense that there are no servers, no tips. You go to the front, order, sit and wait, then go to pick up. So it isn’t a classic restaurant in American terms but it is in Korean terms. There are also no hosts, so you can sit wherever you want! Make sure you do clean up after yourselves. Another korean thing is to just keep the tray they give you and pile all the dishes and napkins and whatnot after you are done and set the tray on a rack that they have out.

Tofu soup + spicy pork + all the cute little sides AND a towering hill of purple rice for $ 11 flat? Oh my, that’s hard to beat! I even had enough leftovers for lunch the next day @.@ Counter service, and they’ll call your number for pick up(you can tell them to say your number in English instead of Korean, so you don’t have to worry about missing your order!). Utensils and water in the back. Granted, the seafood tofu soup is more watery than my favorite one at Musiro a hundred or so steps away, but you can’t beat the price. And they don’t use a frozen seafood mix for their soup here ^^b The spicy pork was sweet and flavorful, definitely tasted great with the red bean /purple rice. Nom! They have quite a few options to choose from– grilled mackerel, naengmyeon(cold noodles), tteok boki(spicy rice cakes, sorry if I’m killing the Korean haha), and bibimbap(rice topped with veggies and some meat) are only a bite of what they have to offer. Prepacked kimbab(Korean sushi) is also available. This place reminds me of Ahjumma Kimbab Deli but with more choices and nicer service. Check it out! :D

I like almost everything on their menu. Recommendations: Gam ja tang/Pork bone soup(one of the best I’ve had ever), jan chi gook soo/white noodles in broth, and their ggo ma kimbab/little korean-style rolls. Their flavors are great, it’s self-service(so no tip), decent pricing, and the restaurant gets crowded sometimes during peak hours. If you get there too late, they run out of some food items sometimes. Also, they’re closed on Sundays!

Whoa!!! for $ 11 you can get two meals and some sides! that’s a steal!!! I think it used to be $ 10 but they up one more dollar. Its okay because its still cheap for good food!!! They have a menu showing you combos but you can mix and match between a soup and a dry dish. For example you can pick tofu soup with spicy marinated pork or beef or fish. I went with tofu soup with spicy marinated pork. Both dishes were delicious and filling. Tofu soup is perfect for a cold winter day of course. The spicy pork wasn’t that unbearable spicy but they are Korean and I am Asian. My spicy level of tolerant is high so it might be a lot for you. They also give you banchan like usual so that’s extra. They didn’t skimp on anything, tofu soup had all ingredients and they give you a whole big shrimp with squid, clams, mussel or oyster. This is a self service, no tip! You order at the register in the back and they will give you a number. Your number will be called when food is ready. Your food will come out in a silver tray. SAVETHETRAY! you will need it to put everything for the rack.

My parents have been raving about this place since it opened. After so much hype from my folks, I was like, «this needs to happen ASAP.» This is a really typical Korean restaurant — self-service everything. That’s right folks. That means you have to get up and get your own silverware, water and napkins. You also need to go to the cashier to place an order and then you have to return to pick up your own food. In addition to picking up your own food, you need to go drop off your finished dishes in the giant rack nearby the food pick up counter. I know, the horror right? No service. No asking for anything. Just plain and simple — you pay for your food, you pick it up and you also clean up after yourself. There’s even a big sign near the cash register stating, «No tip!» Do not tip anyone. Please don’t. In Korean culture, that’s considered rude. For a more westernized sit down Korean restaurant, you can go ahead and tip like you normally would. However, this place is an exception. The prices are pretty cheap and the servings are large and in charge. I ordered the sundubu(spicy tofu soup) which had bits of seafood, the sengsuhn gui(grilled mackerel), and the dduk book kee(spicy rice cakes). 1) Sundubu(spicy tofu soup) — this was a bit too salty for me. Portion size was fine and the seafood cooked in the soup was delicious. The tofu was the right consistency BUT it was not nearly spicy enough for me and the salt overpowered any spice there was in the soup. I was a bit disappointed by this because my mom had insisted on me getting the spicy tofu soup 2) Sengsuhn gui(grilled mackerel) — HOLYMOLY this was good. Make sure to squeeze the lemon slice all over the fish. This was delicious. I was really impressed by their grilled mackerel. I already love this stuff to begin but WHOA. It was really tasty and completely overshadowed the spicy tofu soup. 3) Dduk book kee(spicy rice cakes) — this was a bit too sweet for me. Yes, traditionally sugar does go into dduk book kee but I prefer my spicy rice cakes to be spicy and not overly sweet. I could barely eat more than 2 bits of rice cakes without needing to gulp down loads of water. Taste of Korea is solid. From what I’ve seen thus far it’s very consistent. However, some dishes suffer more than others and I can’t say it’s my favorite place to go for traditional Korean grub. Prices are very affordable and food comes out quickly. It’s a no nonsense kind of place but it’s probably not somewhere you’d want to go for date night.

Had lunch here with my co-workers and was pretty happy with the experience. I’ve noticed a trend in Korean Restaurants around Dallas with the whole self serve concept. You order the food, get yourself water, and when the food is ready, you take it yourself. It has a real Cafeteria feel to it and I don’t really mind it. Also can’t complain about not having to tip anyone. This concept is perfect for a quick lunch that fills you up. I had the SoonDooBoo with the spicy pork. The stew was a little bland for my taste and the pork was pretty dry for it being marinated but wasn’t too bad. It’s a little more expensive than the average self serve Korean restaurant, but I can’t complain too much because of the portions and the awesome side dishes it comes with. All in all, it was a good experience, and I can see myself coming back if I want a quick Korean bite for lunch.
